People of Iran UNITED by U.S. War Meant to Divide Them –Iranian Prof. Setareh Sadeqi
When the US and Israel launched a series of attacks targeting Iran last week, their goal was regime change. But instead of division, we are seeing UNITY across Iran…Rachel Blevins

Oddly on or around Holocaust memorial day they showed video of liberation of the Concentration camps, which also depicted footage of emaciated people and horrific conditions etc, there is similar footage of Belsen for example.
Pictures of Jews behind barbed wire in the concentration camps, there are similar images from 1947 showing palestinians behide barbed wire (Thanks to the british as palestine was a british protectorate at the time) and similar images from the Balkans in the early 90s (the latter does show ethnic cleansing and it is cited historically as that) This was all shown on the news.
What is the difference exactly, they are meant to be telling the story. IIRC the Napalm girl image is infamouse for two reasons, 1 it showed a girl of about 9 naked running away from a village, her face tells the story, the fact she was naked was why people in authority tried to get it banned, I think history will tell the story of the fact that village had been bombed with Nalpalm, so they were more likely to try and cover up what had taken place.
Clearly in 2025 we are more concerned about not upsetting people than telling the actual story of what is going on.
While the images are horrific, if kids see them, they will ask questions, awkward questions as to why.

in reply to Sozan • • •Ah no problem, There are some good reports elsewhere on here too.
So much so and esp as many are from legit sources such as MSF or AlJazeera etc. New users to the fediverse are in for a shock if they are used to getting news from facebook or mainstream media.
