"Criticism of the group has been mounting – including from Downing Street and the Conservative leader of the opposition, Kemi Badenoch – since a video emerged from a November 2023 gig appearing to show one person from the group saying: “The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP.”
Katie Amess, whose father, David Amess, was murdered by an Islamic State fanatic in his Southend West constituency in 2021, said she was “gobsmacked at the stupidity of somebody or a group of people being in the public eye and saying such dangerous, violent rhetoric” and demanded an apology.
The band has previously claimed they are facing a “coordinated smear campaign” after speaking out about “the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people”.
“Establishment figures, desperate to silence us, have combed through hundreds of hours of footage and interviews, extracting a handful of words from months or years ago to manufacture moral hysteria,” they said."

"The criticism levelled at Belfast rap group Kneecap over their statements about Israel is a distraction from the issue at hand.
#Israel is committing a #genocide in #Gaza – any deflection from that fact is completely inappropriate."

"British police have charged a member of acclaimed Irish hip-hop group Kneecap with a terrorism offense for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag at a Kentish Town Forum concert in London on 21 November 2024.
The Metropolitan Police force said Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, 27, was charged under the Terrorism Act with displaying a flag in support a proscribed organization.
Several Kneecap gigs have been cancelled as a result of the controversy, especially in Germany where Kneecap were scheduled to play in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Some British lawmakers have called on organizers of next month's Glastonbury Festival to scrap a planned performance."

“We deny this ‘offence’ and will vehemently defend ourselves, this is political policing, this is a carnival of distraction.
“We are not the story, genocide is, as they profit from genocide, they use an ‘anti-terror law’ against us for displaying a flag thrown on stage. A charge not serious enough to even warrant their crown court, instead a court that doesn’t have a jury. What’s the objective?
“To restrict our ability to travel. To prevent us speaking to young people across the world. To silence voices of compassion. To prosecute #artists who dare speak out.
“Instead of defending innocent people, or the principles of international law they claim to uphold, the powerful in Britain have abetted slaughter and famine in #Gaza, just as they did in Ireland for centuries. Then, like now, they claim justification.
“The #IDF units they arm and fly spy plane missions for are the real terrorists, the whole world can see it.”

in reply to Proletarian Rage • • •#Kneecap displayed a message stating: “#Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people,” and the words “Fuck Israel. Free Palestine”. Mo Chara, one of the group’s members, told the audience: “The #Palestinians have nowhere to go. It’s their fucking home and they’re bombing them from the skies. If you’re not calling it a genocide, what the fuck are you calling it?”
Within a week, Kneecap’s US booking agent had dropped them, Fox #News had likened the statements to “#Nazi #Germany”, a handful of summer shows had been cancelled.
And the “dead Tory” comments? “Why should I regret it? It was a joke – we’re playing characters, it’s satirical, it’s a fucking joke. “The point is, that [video] wasn’t an issue until we said ‘Free Palestine’ at Coachella. That stuff happened 18 months ago, and nobody batted an eyelid. Everybody agreed it was a fucking joke, even people that may have been in the room that didn’t agree – it’s a laugh, we’re all having a bit of craic. The point is, and the context is, it all [resurfaced] because of Coachella. That’s what we should be questioning, not whether I regret things.”
“The genocide in #Palestine is a big reason we’re getting such big crowds at our gigs, because we are willing to put that message out there,” says Ó hAnnaidh.

Frankly, I think even Israel's biggest enabler (the US) is exhausted and beginning to move on. The US regime is interested in material gain, which Israel isn't really offering these days. And even a blind person can see that starving and bombing babies for years is WAY WORSE than disliking Israel.
