You react more emotionally in your mother tongue because you learned this language as a child together with many emotions that you experienced as a child. You usually learn a foreign language at school where it is not about emotions and very often more about pressure. As a result, you are often much colder and more rational when making decisions in a foreign language.

In most NATO countries, English is the second language and negotiations between NATO members are conducted in English. This allows the participants to make cold rational decisions and their emotions are left out. A bad combination when it comes to establishing a peaceful world order.

@Trocatintas The people of every country are the same. You get around 95% lovely people and 5% carnts. You think of your own people and you look around your friends and think that your people are great. I spent 20 years travelling the world and saw that everywhere. If you visit Iran you will meet the most friendly people you could hope to meet. I have enjoyed my trips to the US but both countries are run by carnts. Russia is a great place, I have been there 4 times and speak with Russians every day but yes, Putin is a carnt.

We don't need solar. Nuclear is better in every way if it's managed correctly.

Batteries still suck for vehicles, and they will never be as energy-dense as gasoline. They are heavy (causing damage to roads), hard to produce (generally requires slave labor of African kids in cobalt/lithium mines to get the "affordable" price), hard to recycle, and horrible for the environment.

Most subsidies to EV/battery companies end up being fraudulently wasted anyway, and I don't think Elon is an exception, though he's not nearly as bad a case as the other Obama-era renewable companies.

We've been dealing with renewable energy corruption for like 15 years now. If it was economically viable without being propped up by the government, we'd know by now. It's time to look elsewhere.

For a couple days, our CO2 detectors in the basement have been going off, intermittently for short periods of time. I had just replaced them last fall and our furnace isn't in use so I checked the hot water heater and it was fine. I was a bit baffled since there is no other possible source. Then, this morning, I woke up a half hour earlier than usual, so I extended my work out. So I happened to be down there long enough for it to happen 2x. 1/2

As a result, I was able to notice that both times it was right after the dehumidifier came on. The litter box, is right next to the dehumidifier and the self clumping litter make a very fine clay dust. Over time that dust built up inside the dehumidifier and when it blew it out, it caused the false alarm. I cleaned the inside of it and moved it away from the litter box. Hasn't gone off since. This is good, the noise was putting me over the edge and it didn't cost me any $.

This matters because I remember reading one of their big reports from 2019 called "Extending Russia" that outlined pretty clearly the perceived military and power advantages for the US, with a larger war and how interrupting operation of the Nord stream pipeline was a priority in terms of keeping Europe under the thumb for years to come.

It also outlined how extending Russia on their border will temporarily free up the middle east to expand US influence. It's all in there.

Hmmm, so #Google lobbyists claim "All apps on Android can be uninstalled" but from my testing on #Android 16 with all latest updates on a #Pixel this appears to be false.

Google's own #DMA compliance report from March 2025 says this is wrong:

"Android allows to uninstall apps by: (i) fully deleting apps that are downloaded or pre-installed in the user partition; and (ii) uninstalling apps in the system partition such that they are returned into an uninstalled state."

The prime minister of #Israel is taking his third trip to the White House in the five months since Trump has been back in office. I have immediate blood family members who I love with all my heart and visit less often than this.

This comes as the #Trump administration revokes the #US visas of British punk rap duo Bob Vylan ahead of a US tour for chanting “Death, death to the #IDF” at a concert in the #UK. Trump’s sycophantic supporters who spent years complaining that their free speech rights were under assault appear fine with their government deciding what words Americans are allowed to hear in their own country.

This also comes as Trump actively intervenes in the Israeli judicial system to prevent Netanyahu’s corruption trial from moving forward.

The president has repeatedly taken to social media to demand that Israel abandon its corruption case against the prime minister, at one point even implying that the US could cut off arms supplies if his trial isn’t canceled.

“The United States of America spends Billions of Dollar a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel,” Trump said. “We are not going to stand for this. We just had a Great Victory with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu at the helm — And this greatly tarnishes our Victory. LET BIBI GO, HE’S GOT A BIG JOB TO DO!”

It’s so revealing what the US government is and is not willing to threaten conditioning military supplies on, and what it’s willing to interfere in Israel’s affairs to accomplish.

Ever since the #Gaza holocaust began we’ve been hearing lines like “Israel is a sovereign country” and “Israel is a sovereign state that makes its own decisions” when reporters ask why the White House doesn’t leverage arms shipments to demand more humanitarian treatment for civilians in the Gaza Strip. But the president of the United States is willing to leverage those same arms shipments to directly interfere in Israeli legal proceedings which have nothing to do with the US government in order to get Netanyahu out of trouble. ....

Sounds good, but municipalities change zoning all the time, at least in the cities. As far as insurance specific to crime, that would be very difficult to get. If you do, it would be very expensive, and then they come up with excuses of why they don't cover it. Then drop you. Further, if you needed a loan for your project, the banks hold you accountable for not having insurance, and can call in the loan. 😡

Is the circulation of money dangerous for the social stability of societies?


The following experiment was carried out by scientists. A group of monkeys were given coins and taught to exchange them for grapes. The monkeys understood this and exchanged their coins for grapes. When the price was high they only bought a few grapes and when the price went down they bought more. After a while, however, the males kept back some coins and collected them. They then gave these coins to the females and let's just say the females were very friendly to the males in return. The females in turn bought grapes in return. So the monkeys understood the money and service cycle.

However, the Ethics Council, which supervised the experiment, also prohibited its continuation at the time. The reason given was that the money cycle destroys the social structure of the monkeys.

I have to say how lucky we are that we have banned the monkeys from using money.

A contest is an activity that includes
- score-keeping
- winners and losers
- rules that can't be changed whenever participants happen to feel like changing them
- some combination of the above

Money turns life into a contest. Money is the score-keeping.

Children should be discouraged from participating in contests. Instead of something like football, children should ride bicycles or ski. No contest involved. (Yes, you can turn these healthy, enjoyable activities into a contest, but you don't have to.) If pressured to compete in contests, children should be encouraged to forfeit.

L'un d'eux s'obstine tout particulièrement à m'accuser d'être un gourou à la tête d'une secte au motif que des gens viennent me défendre quand il m'insulte. Il ne semble pas venir à l'idée de ce brillant penseur que c'est ce qui se passe quand tu insultes quelqu'un sur l’internet. Des ami·es, des connaissances et des gens qui vous apprécient prennent votre défense. Ça s'appelle l'amitié, la solidarité, la camaraderie, le débat, la confrontation d’idées, etc. Même lui, si je l’injuriais nommément, des gens viendraient plaider en sa faveur. Mais avec une bonne dose de mauvaise foi, de malhonnêteté, d’indignité et de mépris, on peut assimiler toutes ces réactions à de l'emprise et soutenir que quiconque est défendu∙e par d'autres est nécessairement un∙e gourou. (Cette remarquable logique permet de qualifier à peu près tout le monde de gourou.)

Bref. Ce n'est pas le pire. Le plus stupéfiant, à mes yeux, c'est que ces gens persistent à me qualifier de « transphobe » (ou pire) sans jamais expliquer en quoi je le serais, sans citer une phrase, une idée, un argument. Je suis apparemment atteint d'une peur ou d'une haine irrationnelle des « personnes trans » (quelque chose comme ça). Et c'est un fait. Il n'y a pas à en discuter. J'ai écrit des choses qui critiquent le phénomène trans (qu’ils n’ont pas lues). La preuve est donc bien établie. Toute critique formulée à l'encontre du mouvement trans ne saurait être qu’une expression de peur ou de haine irrationnelle.

Sauf qu'en fait, non. Si tu crois ça, tu fais — pour le coup — partie d'une secte. Et ce mécanisme de rejet systématique de la critique t’immunise contre toute remise en question de tes croyances sectaires.

Or ta secte, mon cher couillon, prétend que la personnalité des gens, qu'elle appelle « identité de genre », peut être en « inadéquation » avec leur corps sexué. Elle parle alors d'« incongruence » ou de « non conformité de genre ». « Non conformité ». Ça devrait pourtant éveiller quelques soupçons.

C'est-à-dire que ta secte soutient que l'esprit et le corps font deux, qu'il est possible de « naître dans le mauvais corps », et qu'à chaque type de corps sexué (mâle ou femelle) doit correspondre un type de personnalité (« identité de genre »). Lorsqu'elle juge que la personnalité d’un individu n'est pas « en adéquation » avec son corps, ta secte parle donc d'« incongruence » ou de « non conformité » de genre, et de « transidentité ». Un système de croyance dualiste, sexiste et normatif.

Pour accomplir tout ça, comme toute secte qui se respecte, ta secte impose une redéfinition de nombreux termes élémentaires du langage commun, comme « fille », « femme », « garçon » et « homme ». Dans l’univers trans, ces mots ne renvoient surtout pas à la matérialité des corps sexués (« transphobie ! »), mais désignent des « identités de genre » nébuleuses. Des types de personnalité, en fait, c’est pourquoi le Transgender Network Switzerland affirme qu’« il y a autant d’identités de genre que d’individus ». Sauf qu’en en pratique, ces « identités de genre » (ou personnalités) censées être aussi nombreuses que les individus sont essentiellement au nombre de deux (fille/femme et garçon/homme, il y a bien d’autres concepts encore plus lunaires, comme « non-binaires », mais ils restent marginaux). Et ces « identités de genre » (ces personnalités) de fille/femme et garçon/homme sont toujours liés aux stéréotypes sexistes associés aux sexes. L’« identité de genre » femme désigne par exemple, selon la plateforme QuestionSexualite.fr (« le portail dédié à la sexualité de tous les Français »), le fait de se reconnaître « dans les caractéristiques féminines définies par la société ». Autrement dit, dans l’univers trans, une femme, c’est un être humain doté d’une affinité pour les stéréotypes auxquels correspond la féminité dans la société patriarcale, quel que soit son sexe. Définir « femme » comme un ensemble de stéréotypes ambulants. Merveilleux progrès.

(Je sais qu’il n’est pas facile de suivre étant donné l’absurdité contradictoire générale du système de croyances #trans, mais fais un effort.)

Ta secte soutient à la fois que l’« identité de genre » n’a rien à voir avec le corps sexué ET que l’« identité de genre » doit aller de pair avec un certain type de corps sexué, sans quoi il y aurait « incongruence ».

Ta secte suggère ainsi aux personnes dont l’esprit a supposément été embouteillé dans le mauvais corps que pour aller mieux (et/ou pour devenir « vraiment elles-mêmes »), elles pourraient envisager d'altérer leur corps, d’inhiber leur puberté (pour les adolescent∙es, les jeunes), de prendre des hormones de synthèse de l'autre sexe afin d'essayer d'en acquérir quelques aspects extérieurs, voire de subir quelques opérations chirurgicales. Par ce biais, ce qu'elle leur suggère, ce qu'elle leur offre, c'est de mettre leur corps « en conformité avec leur esprit » (pour reprendre les mots d'un militant trans ayant droit à pas mal d'espace médiatique, de BFMTV aux colonnes de Libé : Bruno-devenu-Béatrice Denaes). Conformer des corps à des esprits. Le bel objectif qu'il est super progressiste !

La médicalisation que ta secte propose aux enfants, aux jeunes et aux adultes qu’elle manipule – amené∙es à croire que leur personnalité est en inadéquation avec leur corps – est hautement dommageable pour leur santé (diminution de la masse osseuse, altération du développement neurologique et cognitif, stérilité, problèmes cardiovasculaires et thromboemboliques, dysfonction hépatique, troubles lipidiques, atrophie génitale, etc.). Sans parler des excisions de poitrines (parfaitement saines) qu’elle fait subir à des filles ou des femmes et des boucheries inévitablement accompagnées de toutes sortes de complications atroces que sont les vaginoplasties et les phalloplasties.

En amalgamant confusément #sexe et #genre, en prétendant que « femme » ne désigne pas une réalité matérielle, ne renvoie pas au corps sexué mais à un type de personnalité, à des stéréotypes vestimentaires, comportementaux et psychologiques, ta secte permet à des hommes d’accéder à tous les services et les espaces réservés aux femmes : compétitions sportives, foyers pour femmes battues, vestiaires, toilettes, prisons, etc. Grâce à ta secte, des hommes ont violé des femmes dans des prisons pour femmes, dans des foyers pour femmes, spolié des femmes de médailles, de titres et de prix sportifs, usurpé des places réservées aux femmes dans des listes électorales.

Ta secte permet aussi à des hommes de se prétendre lesbiennes, d’envahir les espaces lesbiens et de faire du chantage auprès des (véritables) lesbiennes en les qualifiant de « transphobes » lorsqu’elles expliquent ne pas être attirées par les hommes (par les mâles humains), même lorsqu’ils se disent femme. Certains hommes qui se disent lesbiennes insistent et affirment que les lesbiennes « transphobes » qui rejettent les « bites de femme » ne sont que des bigotes « obsédées par les vagins », ou des choses de ce genre — un bref tour sur les réseaux sociaux suffit à tomber sur tout un tas d’hommes se disant lesbiennes et harcelant des femmes : hier sur X (Twitter), un homme écrivait par exemple à une femme : « à part la transphobie t'as genre, zéro excuse » (pour ne pas coucher avec une « femme à bite »). Quand des hommes (qui se disent femme) insistent pour que des femmes lesbiennes couchent avec eux, c’est une manifestation de la culture du viol.

Ta secte, qui nie l’existence du caractère sexué des corps humains, ou qui nie le caractère binaire du sexe, ou qui amalgame confusément sexe et genre, redéfinit l’homosexualité, qui devient quelque chose comme une « attirance envers le même genre que soit », mais surtout pas « le même sexe » (eh non, ce serait « transphobe »). Il s’agit d’une forme d’homophobie. Mais « progressiste », alors ça va.

Ta secte persuade des filles qu’une culture sexiste qualifie de « garçons manqués » qu’elles sont littéralement des garçons manqués (« nés dans le mauvais corps »), et des garçons que l’on dit « efféminés » qu’ils sont littéralement des filles (« nées dans le mauvais corps »). Ainsi, des garçons homosexuels sont convertis en « filles trans » hétérosexuelles, et des filles lesbiennes en « garçons trans » hétérosexuels. Ta secte convertit donc – y compris au moyen de traitements médicaux et chirurgicaux – des personnes homosexuelles en personnes (pseudo-)hétérosexuelles (plusieurs statistiques indiquent qu’une grande partie des jeunes traité·es pour « incongruence » ou « dysphorie » de genre, voire une majorité, sont homosexuel·les). Il s’agit encore d’homophobie.

Et il s’agit aussi de capitalisme. Car bien sûr, ta secte est un business. Elle génère des clients à vie : pour les endocrinologues, les chirurgiens, les labos pharmaceutiques. Elle transforme le malaise existentiel adolescent en filon marchand. Une fille en détresse dans la société patriarcale, c’est un plan de carrière pour les ingénieurs en transidentité. À chaque puberté suspendue, un dividende. À chaque pseudo-vagin fabriqué, une prime pour le complexe technomédical. Trans, c’est un marché. Et les types comme toi, vous faites partie de la force de vente.

Et pour avancer ses idées, justifier ses revendications, ta secte recourt aux arguments les plus cons, les plus absurdes de l’histoire de l’argument. A côté, la mythologie de droite – le « roman national », etc. – passe pour une démonstration parfaitement scientifique. Combien de fois des militants de ta secte ont-ils invoqué les poissons-clowns, les huîtres, les mérous, les palmiers à cire du Quindío (Ceroxylon quindiuense), etc., afin de soutenir qu’il était en quelque sorte possible, justifié ou normal que des humains changent de sexe ? Ou prétexté le mode de reproduction des champignons afin d’arguer que le sexe n'est pas binaire ? Ou cité n’importe comment Simone de Beauvoir et son « on ne naît pas femme », lui faisant ainsi dire l’exact inverse de ce qu’elle soutenait ? Ou utilisé un chantage au suicide totalement infondé, incroyablement malhonnête (« ces enfants sont “trans” et si on ne leur procure pas tous les traitements dont ils ont besoin ils vont tous se suicider !!!! ») ? Ou répété en boucle des slogans insensés comme s’il s’agissait de lois de la thermodynamique (« les femmes trans sont des femmes ») ? Ou recouru à toutes sortes d’appels à la pitié en se prétendant opprimés, marginalisés, etc., alors même que le phénomène trans est promu dans des séries Netflix (Orange Is The New Black, Sense8, Always Jane, Euphoria, Pose, Sort Of, Transparent, Veneno, etc.), par un grand nombre d’acteurs, d’actrices, d’icônes de la pop culture et de célébrités en général, dans des reportages télévisés, dans la plupart des médias de masse (en Europe, au moins, mais ailleurs aussi), par un certain nombre de gouvernements des pays riches, ou encore par des banques comme HSBC qui affichent fièrement prendre en charge la « transition » de leurs employé∙es ?

Ta secte, comme l’ont relevé nombre de féministes à travers le globe, dont l'anthropologue et militante féministe mexicaine Marcela Lagarde – une des figures les plus importantes du féminisme latino-américain –, a aussi pour objectif ou en tout cas pour effet d’« éliminer les femmes en tant que sujet du féminisme ». Un exemple. En France, l’« Atelier de création libertaire » a publié un « Dictionnaire anarchiste des enfants » dans lequel le féminisme est défini comme un mouvement « pour l’égalité entre les genres » (sachant que le « genre » y est défini comme « une identité que tu choisis parce que c’est avec elle que tu te sens le mieux »). Du flan, donc. En outre, et toujours selon la définition du féminisme que propose le dictionnaire, l’objectif des féministes, c’est de faire en sorte « que les femmes et les personnes transgenres aient les mêmes droits que les hommes et puissent être libres de choisir par elles-mêmes la vie qu’elles désirent ». Quelle honte. Quelle injure. Et quelle illustration de ce que dénoncent Marcela Lagarde et bien d’autres féministes de premier plan – comme je le montre dans le livre que je sors en août. Confondre féminisme et revendications transidentitaires (en gros, « le féminisme, c’est comme le mouvement trans »). Enseigner ça aux enfants. Dans le milieu « libertaire ». Quelle misère. Cette anecdote me semble représentative. Dans ces milieux, il est désormais courant d’associer le féminisme aux revendications trans. Parler de féminisme sans parler des « personnes trans » et notamment des « femmes trans » est presque suspect, mal vu. (On n’imagine pas, cependant, un détournement similaire de l’antiracisme, du type « les antiracistes veulent que les personnes de couleur et les personnes transgenres aient les mêmes droits et soient libres de vivre leur vie comme bon leur semble »).

Et puis, bien sûr, ta secte neutralise toute critique en pathologisant la moindre objection, automatiquement assimilée à un trouble mental, une peur ou une haine irrationnelle (« phobie »), comme tu le prouves toi-même, ou au moyen du bon vieux sophisme du discrédit par association (l’extrême droite critique le phénomène trans, donc toute critique du phénomène trans est d’extrême droite).

D’ailleurs, ta secte est tellement efficace dans son entreprise de terrorisme moral qu’un certain nombre de gens de gauche n’osent pas exprimer publiquement ce qu’ils ou elles pensent du mouvement trans. Pas mal d’ami∙es me contactent en privé qui me disent partager mes idées, mais n’osent pas le faire savoir. A ma connaissance, il n’y a qu’à ce sujet qu’autant de gens de gauche s’autocensurent, et pas par crainte d’une répression d’État, mais par souci de préserver sa carrière, sa réputation, par crainte de la réprobation qui émanerait du « milieu » — où il règne donc un climat de terreur affective et intellectuelle typique de l’enfermement sectaire.

Ta secte détruit des corps, des vies, spolie des femmes, encourage diverses formes de violences contre les femmes et les filles, parasite le mouvement féministe, convertit des homosexuel∙les, fait le lit du transhumanisme, participe au discrédit et au naufrage de la gauche, renforce les stéréotypes socio-sexuels, favorise l’essor de l’industrie des biotechnologies et du capitalisme biomédical, et j’en passe.

Dans certains pays, la décrue semble avoir commencé – très doucement. Mais même là, un problème se pose. Parce que s’étant greffé aux revendications LGB afin de s’approprier leur légitimité, le mouvement trans tend à leur porter préjudice dans sa chute.

En France, on semble loin du reflux. Dans quelques années, lorsqu’il débutera, si il débute, et si d’ici là on n’est pas toutes et tous crâmé∙es par la chaleur, il serait bon qu’on se souvienne des prises de position des uns et des autres.

Mais en toute franchise, j’ai du mal à voir comment la gauche pourra se remettre d’avoir aussi frénétiquement soutenu un mouvement aussi absurde.

(L’analogie entre mouvement trans et secte a été défendue par beaucoup, y compris par la psychologue et militante féministe espagnole Carola López Moya dans un livre paru en 2023 sous le titre « La secta: El activismo trans y cómo nos manipulan » (« La secte : l’activisme trans et comment il nous manipule »). J'ai souligné ici une partie de ce qu'elle écrit dans son livre. Moya développe la comparaison religieuse : elle propose une série d'analogies qui me semblent assez pertinentes, elle parle de dogmes (les croyances trans), de rituels (les déclarations de pronoms), de prêtres (les personnes trans), de sacrements (les transitions), d’hérésies (les critiques), de rédemptions (le coming out trans), etc. Le livre est très bon.)

Today we celebrate the end of the darkest chapter in Dutch history: slavery. On 1 Juli 1863, slavery and the slave trade were abolished in Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean islands. However, we were dicks about it and forced the "former" enslaved people to keep working on the same plantations for minimal pay for another ten years, enforced by the state. This means that 1873 marks the actual end of Dutch slavery and slave trade. This day is called ketikoti, which means "broken chains" in Sranantongo.

A large part of Dutch wealth is built on brutal colonialism, with slavery being a huge part of that. While us Dutch alive today are not responsible for it, we must still be acutely aware of not only the immense generational trauma it caused that is still widely felt among the descendents of enslaved people today, but also of the immense privilege this centuries-long exploitation has provided to The Netherlands as a country and a people.

I was barely taught anything about any of this as a child in primary school or high school in the '90s and early 2000s, but it seems this is at least changing for the better now. Baby steps, while we should be making strides.

Willkommen hier! Auch ich schließe mich dem freundlichen Rat an, es mit KI Bildchen hier einfach sein zu lassen. Lieber kein Bild als KI-Bild. Gerade in der Wissenschaftskommunikation sollte angekommen sein, dass KI sehr schlecht für unsere Gesellschaft und unseren Planeten ist. Die Unternehmen, die dahinter stehen sollten wir nicht unterstützen.

Außerdem beschränkt ihr eure Reichweite hier, da viele KI boykottieren.

Dennoch lobenswert, dass die KI wenigstens gekennzeichnet war.
