tbh there are lots of cuisines that don't benefit from added spice. German being one of them. Japanese is a other like this But Korean, Thai or Mexican wouldn't be half as good without that building block to balance their flavor profiles. If you are having trouble passing spice but still want to eat it, it may be due to there not being enough fat in the meal for the capsaicin to stick to- it's fat soluble not water soluble
