This may have something (everything) to do with why The Atlantic has gotten significantly worse since 2019.
Like the Washington Post, for the same reason.

in reply to Aaron • • •I'd need to know more about her and the magazine to make up my mind. Her hire of Anne Applebaum is encouraging; others I am not familiar enough with.
I know some writers (and Goldberg) rub me the wrong way. But like I said, as one source amongst many, it still has value.

By way of example, I live in a rural area where Carnegie libraries can still be found in many small towns (my own refused the Carnegie imprint on its keystone, but accepted the gift regardless; see below).
What always bothers me is how late in life they get the urge to return any of what they've thought could be taken and kept (it can't), if the urge is felt at all.
