So I've only seen bits and pieces about this, but it's claiming to... basically be a drop-in replacement, BUT BETTA. Think I saw HDMI output, and I definitely saw a claim that it should work with any preexisting carts and peripherals.

So the objection to the use of the FPGA as an economic replacement to trying to reboot foundary operations for chip designs that don't get minted anymore is... what, a perverse ideological purity?

Granted, retro has always had weird internal purity crusades (I have OPPINIONS about tamagotchi clones, knockoffs, and replacements) but like... c'mon, the alternative was really no machine at all and the slow death of the legacy fleet as more and more inevitably failed.

I said "oh wow, how many gay people did you offend?" Everyone laughed pretty hard even though they didn't really want to and were made kinda uncomfortable by the joke lol. It more or less killed the conversation.

I read Agee's book as a young person, despite it being so much of what seems to be a repetitive slog through every country with the same methods. 😁 I couldn't even tell you when Agee died. I just found out that Sizemore died like a couple of years ago as a result of Madsen dying and they are vaguely iconic Pedowood actors.
