Also, Muslims claim (with a very questionable genealogy) that the English royal family has lineage back to Mohamed. I have that lineage as well. I don't claim it, but if Muslims believe it, who am I to argue?
According to their own prophets, jews angered God so much that he condemned them. Malachi said God's favor turned from the jews to Gentiles. That means the people chosen by God to rule Jerusalem were and are Gentiles, even according to jewish books.

there are certain color dyes that were indeed expensive, particularly red and purple. But bright colors such as yellow and orange were very common and easily applied to textiles using commonly found plants. The blue color dye was inexpensively made using urine and woad 
the point is that in most hollywood media depictions, even royal characters wear very muted colors and peasants wear only brown when that couldn't be further from the truth
