There has been “fearmongering” in attempts by some bodies to “derail” the introduction of the Occupied Territories Bill, the head of Amnesty International has said.

The organisation's secretary general, Agnès Callamard, has praised the Irish Government for its plans to ban trade with Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Over a week ago, the EU announced an alleged deal with Israel to ease humanitarian suffering. The agreement promised more aid trucks, new crossing points, and restored supply routes from Egypt and Jordan.

You may have thought it was a peaceful act of protest, but you'd be wrong.

A man was arrested by Scottish police yesterday (the third such arrest in Glasgow this week) under the Terroirism Act 'for displaying a sign expressing a proscribed organisation'.

Not only is this an attack on the right to protest, many of us might think the Police had a lot more urgent crimes to investigate?

My first computer, in the sense that I, not someone else, made the decision to buy it, ran Debian in 2002. It was a used Compaq desktop with a Pentium II processor, which I bought from Zeer Rangsit, a used computer market that may be the most famous in Thailand these days. When I got it home, I installed Debian right away. Before I bought my computer, I had used MBasic, mainly MS-DOS, Windows 3.1 (though rarely), and Solaris (remotely). For experimentation, I used Xenix, AIX, and one on DEC PDP-11 that I forgot.
