In Glasgow 64 year old Sean Clerkin has been charged under the Terrorism Act for holding a placard reading "Genocide in Palestine, Time to Take Action".

He's effectively banned from the city centre until his court date.

UK courts are slowly filling with groups of these elderly, peaceful "terrorists", making a mockery of the law.

I think when my best friend and I first used the word ‘enshittification’ to talk about the trends of technology in 2005-2006, I think we assumed that the people enshittifying it would be better at their jobs.

Not ruthless, calculated change. Just clueless project managers in CEO roles poorly managing everything while ‘maximising’ profit. However even the maximising profit part isn’t working.

Rinsing investors is what’s happening, while gaslighting everyone else.

This isn’t the technological dystopia I was promised.

@niavy I did an FF backup which got bookmarks, but not pinned sites (I've added them manually). I was cock a hoop when discovering you could create folders of shortcuts and just assumed either the browser or OS would handle them for a device change. It's all a bit shit.

Parental control software is important imho. It would be great to see a review of what’s available.

The more parents can consider Linux a viable option for their kids (as it’s harder to mess up the system you setup for them) the more future Linux users we will have as they grow.

At the moment I ended up using ElementaryOS purely because of their superior parental control, but the distribution itself isn’t great, especially due to their upgrade experience, so it would be great to see what are the alternatives

You may have thought it was a peaceful act of protest, but you'd be wrong.

A man was arrested by Scottish police yesterday (the third such arrest in Glasgow this week) under the Terroirism Act 'for displaying a sign expressing a proscribed organisation'.

Not only is this an attack on the right to protest, many of us might think the Police had a lot more urgent crimes to investigate?

Η κίνηση Gaza Is Here - Initiative Against Genocide έχει ως σκοπό κάτοικοι της Ελλάδας, κόμματα & επισκέπτες να δουν πως κάποιες δεκάδες νέοι γεννημένοι στη Γάζα, κάθονται κάθε μέρα από το απόγευμα και μετά στην Πλατεία Συντάγματος και μπροστά από την Βουλή, ζητώντας να σταματήσει η γενοκτονία, η εξόντωση των οικογενειών τους & η στήριξη των Ευρωπαϊκών κυβερνήσεων προς το κράτος-δολοφόνο.

Κάποιες δεκάδες νέοι την ώρα που οι συγγενείς τους, είτε προσπαθούν να επιβιώσουν από τις βόμβες, είτε να αντισταθούν στα σχέδια γενοκτονίας και εκκαθάρισης, δίνουν τον δικό τους επίσης άνισο αγώνα ενάντια στο ελληνικό κράτος που υποστηρίζει την μαζική δολοφονία των Παλαιστινίων από τον ισραηλινό στρατό, τις ΗΠΑ & την «πολιτισμένη» Ευρώπη.

Βρεθήκαμε ανάμεσά τους, μοιραστήκαμε τις ιστορίες τους & σας μεταφέρουμε ένα μικρό δείγμα του αγώνα του Άχμαντ, της Α και της Σαχάμπ για να ακούσει κάποιος τους ίδιους τους Παλαιστινίους της Γάζας που κάθε μέρα χάνουν τις οικογένειές τους, ανήμποροι να μοιραστούν τον πόνο τους από κοντά.

Αν θέλετε να μάθετε περισσότερα δεν έχετε παρά να επισκεφθείτε την πιο κεντρική πλατεία της πρωτεύουσας της αποικίας, να τους μιλήσετε και να δείξετε την αλληλεγγύη σας στην πράξη.

My first computer, in the sense that I, not someone else, made the decision to buy it, ran Debian in 2002. It was a used Compaq desktop with a Pentium II processor, which I bought from Zeer Rangsit, a used computer market that may be the most famous in Thailand these days. When I got it home, I installed Debian right away. Before I bought my computer, I had used MBasic, mainly MS-DOS, Windows 3.1 (though rarely), and Solaris (remotely). For experimentation, I used Xenix, AIX, and one on DEC PDP-11 that I forgot.
