Stupid Billionaire Apologetics: Mamdani Edition

"Reason’s Billy Binion took NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s recent comment that billionaires shouldn’t exist as an opportunity to trot out a moth-eaten — and remarkably unreflective even if it were original — apologetic for billionaires: I know it’s trendy to hate billionaires, but many didn’t get rich by accident. Jeff Bezos made goods cheaper..."

Oh, darlin', let me paint you a picture! 🌸 Imagine this: I'm home alone after a long day, the sun's just set, and I've got some candles lit all around my big ol' clawfoot tub. It's filled with warm, bubbly water that smells like lavender and vanilla – it's divine! I've slipped into something... well, nothing really, just for kicks. 😉 My long brunette hair is down now, cascading over my shoulders. I've got a glass of red wine on the side of the tub, and I'm sipping it while listening to some smooth jazz. I can feel the stress melting away as I close my eyes and take in the moment. It's pure bliss! 💖

In Sweden there have been instances where the police failed to recognize handicap. Someone who have had their speech affected by a previous stroke was treated rather rough, basically assaulted by the cops.

In another occasion several cops opened fire at, shot and killed a young man with down syndrome. Since he had a plastic toy gun...

These are the effects of Jewry, policys have destroyed the police force. They can no longer afford to exclude low intelligent applicants.

Zenn, Perplexity opinion on the list;

The list in the image includes a mix of political, intelligence, and government figures from the US and abroad, but not all of them were directly involved in Russia’s 2016 election interference or the official investigations into it.

Some of the people listed (like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, James Comey, John Brennan, and Robert Mueller) played prominent roles as decision-makers, investigators, or political figures during the aftermath and inquiries, while others are journalists, foreign officials, or individuals only tangentially mentioned in related reports—the core of the actual Russian interference was conducted by Russian actors, not most of the names on the list.

The official Mueller investigation and congressional probes cast a *wide net* and mentioned hundreds of people, but this list appears to broadly include anyone discussed or referenced in those contexts, including those who had no direct connection to Russia’s interference itself.

🥳 New Kitten Release

• Improved Markdown parser

Kitten’s JavaScript tagged template strings (`kitten.html`) no longer fail to render as expected when interpolated values are used inside of Markdown where the Markdown render changes source order.

So, for example, the following will now work correctly, whereas, previously, the link source and link text would have been erroneously flipped:

kitten.html`
<markdown>
[${linkText}](${linkSource})
</markdown>
`

To implement the fix, I’ve moved Markdown rendering outside of the main render loop and into a pre-render stage and implemented a simple Markdown render tree that non-recursively handles all Markdown region renders.

Italian Kitchen Backsplash: Where Strength Meets Style

Italian kitchen tiles are built to endure the demands of a busy kitchen while maintaining their beauty through years of use. But not all tiles are equal. A stunning showroom sample might not hold up in a real kitchen. Here’s how to pick one that will.

A kitchen backsplash is more than a pretty surface—it’s a protector. It stands up to the mess of cooking: splattered oil, spilled sauces, and hot steam. Italian tiles turn this functional feature into a timeless statement, blending durability with elegance.

Italian kitchen tiles are built to endure the demands of a busy kitchen while maintaining their beauty through years of use. But not all tiles are equal. A stunning showroom sample might not hold up in a real kitchen. Here’s how to pick one that will.

Why Backsplashes Are Essential

A backsplash is a kitchen’s shield. Cooking sends grease, water, and food crashing into your walls. Without a barrier, stains, peeling paint, or mold can take over. Italian tiles create a resilient, easy-to-clean surface that handles the chaos with ease.

But as a focal point at eye level, the backsplash also sets the kitchen’s tone. A clashing or dated tile can disrupt the space, while the right one pulls everything together, creating a warm, cohesive feel.

The Italian Tile Advantage

Italian tiles are more than a label—they’re a tradition. Italy’s centuries-old tile-making craft combines artistry with technical precision, delivering tiles that excel in both form and function.

Italian kitchen tiles offer:

  • Porcelain or premium ceramic: Porcelain’s low porosity fights off water and stains, while ceramic balances strength with flexibility.
  • High-fired durability: These tiles resist cracking or warping, even under stress.
  • Unique aesthetics: Rich glazes and varied textures give Italian tiles a depth that mass-produced alternatives can’t match.

Their earthy palettes—soft creams, muted greens, or warm taupes—feel natural and timeless, adapting to any kitchen’s light and mood.

Selecting a Style That Lasts

Tile trends are fleeting—one season it’s geometric patterns, the next it’s shiny finishes. A backsplash should age gracefully. Italian kitchen tiles lean on classic designs, like simple rectangles with hand-finished edges or subtle glazes, that don’t go out of style.

For modern kitchens, Italian tiles offer sleek, minimalist options, crafted with the same premium materials. Whether your style is cozy or contemporary, there’s an Italian tile that feels right without chasing trends.

Installation: The Make-or-Break Step

Even top-tier tiles fail with poor installation. Unsealed grout invites stains. Misaligned tiles collect dirt or crack. Low-quality adhesives lead to loose tiles over time.

Handcrafted Italian tiles, with their unique imperfections, demand skilled installation to shine. Details like precise outlet cuts, clean countertop transitions, and seamless corners elevate the look. Hire a pro who knows their craft to match the tile’s quality.

Exploring New Ideas

The standard backsplash stops at the cabinets, but you can push further. In kitchens without upper cabinets, run Italian tiles to the ceiling for a bold, unified effect. Extra height behind the stove adds protection where it’s needed most. Tiling around windows can make the space feel brighter and more open.

Consider subtle color or texture—a soft navy or faded terracotta adds character without dominating. For maintenance, matte or textured tiles hide fingerprints better than glossy ones, especially in well-lit kitchens.

Pitfalls to Dodge

  • Avoid mixing tile styles or grout colors—it looks chaotic.
  • Always seal grout, even with sealed tiles.
  • Tile the entire splash zone. Partial coverage leaves walls exposed.

Final Thought

A great backsplash blends into your kitchen’s flow, handling daily wear while quietly enhancing the space. Italian kitchen tiles offer that rare mix of resilience and beauty, built to last through years of cooking and cleaning.

Choose with intention, prioritizing what feels right for your home over passing trends. With the right Italian tiles, your backsplash becomes more than a feature—it becomes the heart of your kitchen.

Environmental Impacts of Plastic Pyrolysis: Is It a Green Solution?

Environmental Impacts of Plastic Pyrolysis: Is It a Green Solution?

Plastic waste has become one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. With millions of tons of plastic ending up in landfills and oceans every year, it’s no wonder that researchers and industries are looking for more effective ways to recycle and reduce plastic waste. One such solution gaining attention is plastic pyrolysis. But as with any emerging technology, the question remains: is plastic pyrolysis truly a green solution, or does it come with its own environmental cost?

What is Plastic Pyrolysis?
Before diving into its environmental impacts, let’s first understand what plastic pyrolysis is. Pyrolysis is a chemical process in which organic materials—like plastic—are heated in an oxygen-free environment. This heating process breaks down the plastic into simpler chemicals, often producing fuels like oil and gas, as well as carbon-rich solid residues like char.

Unlike traditional recycling methods, which often require plastics to be sorted and cleaned, pyrolysis allows for the treatment of mixed plastic waste, making it an attractive option for recycling plastics that are difficult to process through conventional means.

Potential Environmental Benefits of Plastic Pyrolysis
Despite some concerns, pyrolysis is often hailed as a potential breakthrough in managing plastic waste. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Waste Reduction
One of the most significant benefits of pyrolysis is its ability to reduce the volume of plastic waste. Plastic waste that would typically end up in landfills or polluting the oceans can be converted into useful products, such as oil and gas. By reducing waste, pyrolysis helps alleviate the burden on landfills and contributes to a cleaner environment.
  2. Lower Carbon Emissions Compared to Landfilling
In comparison to landfilling, pyrolysis can produce significantly lower carbon emissions. While landfills produce methane—a potent greenhouse gas—pyrolysis, if properly managed, has the potential to capture carbon and convert it into useful products like fuel or chemicals. This can reduce the overall carbon footprint associated with plastic waste.
  3. Energy Recovery
The process of plastic pyrolysis plant produces oil, which can be refined into valuable fuels. These fuels can potentially replace fossil fuels in certain applications, thereby contributing to a reduction in dependency on crude oil and coal. Some proponents argue that pyrolysis could be an integral part of the renewable energy transition.
  4. Reduced Pollution from Incineration
Traditional waste-to-energy plants burn plastic waste, releasing harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, including dioxins and furans. Pyrolysis, on the other hand, operates in a controlled, oxygen-free environment, significantly reducing the risk of toxic emissions that contribute to air pollution and climate change.

Environmental Challenges and Concerns
Despite its potential, plastic pyrolysis is not without its environmental challenges. Here are some of the key concerns that must be addressed before this technology can be considered a truly sustainable solution:

  1. Air Pollution and Toxic Emissions
Though pyrolysis can reduce emissions compared to incineration, the process is not entirely free of harmful gases. The thermal decomposition of plastics can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other pollutants. If not properly controlled, these emissions can harm the environment and human health.
  2. Energy Intensity
The pyrolysis process requires high temperatures (usually between 300-900°C), which means it can be energy-intensive. If the energy required to run pyrolysis units comes from non-renewable sources, the overall environmental benefit of the process could be negated. For pyrolysis to be truly green, it needs to be powered by renewable energy, such as solar or wind.
  3. Waste Residue: The Char Problem
The pyrolysis process also produces a solid residue, often referred to as “char.” While char can be used for certain purposes, such as soil amendment or activated carbon, its disposal can be problematic. If not handled properly, this byproduct can contribute to land and water pollution.
  4. Feedstock Quality and Contaminants
Plastic waste often contains contaminants such as metals, dyes, and other chemicals. When these materials undergo pyrolysis, harmful byproducts may be produced. The presence of mixed plastic types and impurities could result in the release of more toxic substances, complicating the waste management process.

Is Pyrolysis Truly a Green Solution?
The answer isn’t clear-cut. Plastic pyrolysis offers several environmental benefits, particularly in terms of waste reduction and energy recovery. However, it also comes with significant challenges that must be addressed to ensure it doesn’t inadvertently contribute to further environmental degradation.

To be a truly green solution, pyrolysis needs to:

Improve emission control technologies to minimize the release of harmful gases and particulates.

Integrate renewable energy sources to power the process and reduce its carbon footprint.

Develop better feedstock sorting and contamination removal to prevent the release of hazardous materials during decomposition.

Moreover, pyrolysis should not be viewed as a one-size-fits-all solution to the plastic waste problem. Instead, it should be part of a broader strategy that includes reducing plastic production, increasing recycling rates, and promoting alternatives to single-use plastics.

The Road Ahead
Plastic pyrolysis is a promising technology, but it is not without its environmental risks. Its success in becoming a truly green solution will depend on how well these challenges are addressed through research, innovation, and the adoption of best practices in industrial implementation.

As the world grapples with the ongoing plastic crisis, it’s important to remember that no single technology can solve the problem on its own. A multi-faceted approach—combining reduction, recycling, innovation, and policy changes—is necessary to make meaningful progress toward a sustainable future free from plastic waste.

In conclusion, while plastic pyrolysis may be a step in the right direction, it must continue to evolve and improve to fulfill its potential as an environmentally friendly waste management solution.

21.07.2025 Indect lässt grüßen

Identifizierung Einzelner leicht gemacht

in reply to Aude Caussarieu 🌻

in reply to Aude Caussarieu 🌻
