Again, if you did support Trump at the beginning of the year, and don't support him now that tells me 2 things about you:
1) You aren't very smart
2) You don't listen to Black people
The fact that you don't support him now, doesn't convince me that you've gotten any smarter, or started listening.
This is important, because "Should we elect Trump," is not the last important decision that these people will have to make.
And making better choices in future, requires both being smart, and listening to Black people.
And neither of these things are likely to happen.

I can show people an unlabeled graph of mass incarceration trends in the United States, and tell them that as a senator, Biden was responsible for the legislation that massively ramped up the rate of growth, with genocidally devastating impact on life expectancy and incarceration probability for Black people. I can tell them that when these harms were known, there was an attempt to reduce mass incarceration, and for a few presidents, the rate of growth was flat, and even declined. But then I can tell them that Biden got back in office, and reversed the declining trend, and got it to increase again.
You can physically see Biden's policies in the chart. Someone with no knowledge of US history, can read the above paragraph, and look at the chart, and accurately place when the "War on Drugs" and "Crime Bill" passed, and when Biden got into office as president.
2024 was both the year that US cops killed more Black people than any other on record, and the year with the highest level of police funding ever achieved, not just in the US, but in any country in the history of the world.
This was also the year when Americans expected more Black men to vote more for the Democratic nominee, with higher turnout, than in any election in US history.
Those two sets of facts are incompatible.

The recent budget bill that'll be more damaging to American than a bombing campaign ALSO increases #FossilFuel subsidies in the form of 45Q credits, used for carbon capture, largely for enhanced oil recovery (EOR)

So the government is "picking winners" as they say.
In this case, it's picking a loser, the fossil fuel industry, and protecting and subsidizing it, even if it kills us.

Ozzy Osborne died today and I have seen many posts on other SM sites speaking to his "satanism".
I can't vouch for Ozzy's beliefs or redemption, but I can share my personal recollection of when I met him.
In the mid 70's I worked concert security & Black Sabbath was one of the bands I had the pleasure of working for. I typically was stationed backstage or at a backstage door and had access to the band's dressing rooms, etc.

But my experience with Black Sabbath and Ozzy was 180 degrees from what their public persona was.
Black Sabbath was one of the few bands (one hand would hold the total) that had strict rules about drugs and drink backstage. They had their families with them, were very cordial and put on a good show.
The most I saw Ozzy do was have a can of Budweiser on stage that he would sip periodically.
I did not witness any intoxication in him during the show.
What he did after, I don't know.

- SoftBank is putting itself in dire straits simply to fund OpenAI once. This deal threatens its credit rating, with SoftBank having to take on what will be multiple loans to fund the remaining $30 billion of OpenAI's $40 billion round, which has yet to close and OpenAI is, in fact, still raising.
- This is before you consider the other $19 billion that SoftBank has agreed to contribute to the Stargate data center project, money that it does not currently have available.
- OpenAI has promised $19 billion to the Stargate data center project, money it does not have and cannot get without SoftBank's funds.
- Again, neither SoftBank nor OpenAI has the money for Stargate right now.
- OpenAI must convert to a for-profit by the end of 2025, or it loses $20 billion of the remaining $30 billion of funding. If it does not convert by October 2026, its current funding converts to debt. It is demanding remarkable, unreasonable concessions from Microsoft, which is refusing to budge and is willing to walk away from the negotiations necessary to convert.
- OpenAI does not have a path to profitability, and its future, like Anthropic's, is dependent on a continual flow of capital from venture capitalists and big tech, who must also continue to expand infrastructure.
Anthropic is in a similar, but slightly better position — it is set to lose $3 billion this year on $4 billion of revenue. It also has no path to profitability, recently jacked up prices on Cursor, its largest customer, and had to put restraints on Claude Code after allowing users to burn 100% to 10,000% of their revenue. These are the actions of a desperate company."

Among the climatically correct, nothing is more scandalous than describing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions as beneficial. You can be blacklisted from public forums, professional networking sites, and even be removed from your tenured university position as an accomplished scientist.
Nonetheless, the truth is this: CO2 is fundamental to the photosynthetic process by which plants make food for themselves -- and ultimately for us. Furthermore, the increase in atmospheric CO2 from industrial activity in the past century has helped vegetation over most of the planet to flourish. Also benefiting plants has been the relative warmth of recent decades.
Among the beneficiaries are fruit plants, whose sensitivity to cold is well established. In April 2007, an unseasonable freeze caused considerable low-temperature injury to small fruit plants, including grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, in 21 U.S. states. The financial repercussions for the agricultural sector were substantial. In North Carolina alone, farming losses were estimated to be $112 million, including $86 million in damages to fruit crops.
