Israeli drone struck a ship carrying humanitarian aid to the war-torn and besieged #Gaza Strip while it was in INTERNATIONAL waters near #Malta on Friday.

According to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), which organised the mission, the attack appeared to deliberately target the ship’s generator, sparking a fire and causing a “substantial breach in the hull” that left the vessel in danger of sinking.

The ship, which set sail shortly before the attack, carried at least 30 people from 21 countries.

Israeli attack comes exactly two months after authorities halted all humanitarian aid and commercial goods from entering Gaza.

My name is Takis Politis and I am a Professor at the University of Thessaly. I am in #Malta participating in the Freedom Flotilla. We were about to launch a #humanitarian #solidarity action to break the illegal blockade of the #Gaza Strip and bring humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, who are starving from the deliberate illegal ban on humanitarian aid imposed by #Israel.

Last night after midnight, a few hours before our boarding, our ship was hit by 2 drones in international waters near Malta. A fire broke out and the ship was severely damaged. There were 12 crew members and 6 activists on board at the time of the attack.

I appeal to that large part of Greek society that condemns the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people to pressure the Greek government to STOP all cooperation with Israel and to take all possible actions to help end this #genocide.

En guise de hors d’œuvre à la série d’articles que je vais publier pour rendre compte de mes observations américaines, je voudrais rendre compte d’une curiosité: un rapport du Hudson Institute, think tank américain conservateur influent, qui veut poser les jalons d’un « changement de régime » en Chine. Les Etats-Unis viennent de connaître deux échecs retentissants: ni la Guerre d’Ukraine ni la Guerre d’Iran n’ont amené le « changement de régime » espéré. Eh bien, dans une belle pyramide de Ponzi intellectuelle, planifions un changement de régime encore plus incroyable, pour sauver l’idée! Je porte à la connaissance des lecteurs du Courrier ce document parce qu’il montre l’environnement dans lequel se meut l’administration Trump II: dans une situation de déclin américain relatif et de montée en puissance de la Chine, il semble régner, au moins dans une partie de l’establishment washingtonien, un fort déni de réalité, une capacité à ne pas voir le monde tel qu’il est.

My daughter and SIL's house is having problems staying cool her in Central FL. They've been in their house about 3 years. It's a new unit, 1-2 years old but still couldn't keep up. Stayed about 80 degrees. Guess they needed a stronger unit for their house.
We have gave our windows unit for their bedroom and a portable unit for the open kitchen. We had those for hurricane/bad storm seasons.
The AC guys said to wait to check it until it's cooler in case they have to turn it off.

@Lori It's happened to us, too. When we rehabbed our house, we got 2 big units & keep up with maintenance. A surge hit one a few weeks ago, but it's ok. I was in VA, pregnant and 🤮, with a problem pregnancy, our unit blew at a 105 degrees. I was not happy, and had no money for new one. We put a window unit in a room in the back. HOA said we had to remove it. I called the landlord, and I don't know how he relayed my message, but she backed off. Then became friendly. Who knew? @Bleukitty

Stages of fad tech development

  1. Science fiction
  2. Proof of concept in an obscure research paper.
  3. A really awesome tech demo
  4. Integrated into some products that you have to go out of your way to use
  5. Forcibly integrated into products you use every day. Tech companies begin to iterate. Tech graybeards start to point out problems, which are ignored.
  6. Mainstream, and you see it everywhere. Most people have tried it. Some are using it regularly. Fanatics start to rearrange their lives around it. Tech companies embrace and extend. Problems with the technology become obvious to anyone paying attention, but are generally ignored.
  7. Integrated into every part of society. Tech companies enshittify by reducing services, injecting ads, and farming users for data. Anyone who doesn’t use the technology is a pariah.
  8. No one can remember a world without it. Technology enslaves humanity.

Estoy interesado en instalar en Android algunas apps que lo permitan desde el correspondiente archivo apk. La cuestión es que puede darse el caso de que no encuentre el archivo en la web del proyecto o de la app,

He visto que existen algunas webs como PureAPK o APKMirror. ¿Alguien me podría dar su opinión sobre este tipo de webs o quizás recomendarme alguna web de fiar para descargar instaladores de tipo APK?

@moribundo De ahí vienen mis dudas. Evidentemente, instalar una apk es un acto de responsabilidad, y normalmente se debería hacer desde la web del desarrollador o del proyecto, siempre que sean de fiar, criterio que no es 100% efectivo. Mi consulta viene por si había alguna web que tuviese buena reputación para la descarga de apks. Muchas gracias.

I've never like the "just use a vpn" as a final solution to deal with draconian laws i think it's stupid, naive and completely misses the point

As your local third worlder i have seen and dealt with beyond retarded regulations and while yes the government may be inept at enforcing them that doesnt change the fact those regulations are still there and You are still technically breaking the law which can be later to blackmail You or ruin You completely

Suddenly your country becomes a cloudy Mess where You have to intentionally play the system to not fucking starve a country that promotes being a scumbag and where everyone is trying to scam eachother
