we must look to countries which combine controlled and regulated capitalism with a strong social conscience and comprehensive welfare. These are the Scandinavian countries. Uncontrolled capitalism and uncontrolled communism are equally bad. The solution lies in democratic control by the community for the community.
In other words an educated population, transparent government and reliable democracy. Neither capitalism nor communism must be allowed to take total control.

Nasty downstream consequences come from insufficient regulation by government, not the pot of money by itself. It's the slavish devotion to pots of money and willingness to do anything to get (more of) it that's the problem.
So, tangentially, one of the most important regulations would be to prevent the accumulation of giant pots that seem to drive people insane. Have a cap on wealth as well as a floor on poverty. No billionaires.
Less of an accident and more a serious, violent, and bloody fight to level the table -- tilted away from capitalists and more in the direction of workers and citizens.
The decline in union membership over the last 50 years is a big part of why the current situation has been relatively easy for the billionaire class. People have accepted getting screwed, year after year, decade after decade, by corporations -- and corporations used the accumulated wealth to buy politicians, who passed laws that were pro-corporations, and anti-worker.
The 'golden age' of a single person being able to work a job (literally ANY job) and being able to pay their bills was because unions and non-corrupt politicians fought for worker rights and minimum wage and social programs.

Das ist auch irrefรผhrend. Lemkins Definition ist viel breiter. Die UN-Konvention eher eingeengt. Politisch begrรผndet. Richter am ICJ bemรผhten sich seither so sehr - gerade wegen der politischen Brisanz - die Maรstรคbe um Genozid zu beweisen immer strenger und strikter zu ziehen, dass nahezu nie etwas ein Genozid sein kann - damit all die genozidalen Handlungen wenig politische Konsequenzen haben.
Die Zahl derjenigen Experten - fรผr Genozid, internationales Recht, etc. das was in Palรคstina passiert fundiert einen Genozid bezeichnen ist inzwischen um ein vielfaches grรถรer als die diejenigen die das anders sehen, auch wenn diese zu verschiedenen Zeiten zu dem Schluss gekommen sind, und zum Teil verschiedene Ansรคtze dafรผr haben.
Leute die das was in Gaza passiert nicht fรผr einen Genozid halten sind oft politisch motiviert, setzten oft sehr unterschiedliche Maรstรคbe an, leugnen Fakten, leugnen genozidales Incitement oder setzen den juristischen Maรstab zum Beweisen fรผr Genozid so hoch, dass so gut wie nichts in der Geschichte als Genozid gelten kann - so dass selbst von den Genoziden der Nazis wirklich erst das was ab der Wannseekonferenz passierte ein Genozid sein kann.
Klar kann man diese Auffassung vertreten. Aber wenn man den Genozidbegriff so einengt, dass noch nicht mal der ganze Holocaust darunter fรคllt, dann taugt der ganze Genozidbegriff auch รผberhaupt nichts.
Bei der UN-Konvention soll es ja gerade um Prรคvention von Genoziden gehen. Das wรคre dann aber vรถllig unmรถglich, wenn 95% von dem was etwa Lemkin beschreibt gar kein Genozid sei.
Natรผrlich kann man Incitement durch israelische Politiker, Militรคrs, Medien ignorieren oder herunterspielen, den groรen Teil von dem was der Staat Israel in Gaza und der Westbank tut ignorieren, verharmlosen, jede fadenscheinige Begrรผndung geltend machen, die PR-Leute der israelischen Armee von sich geben, und so tun, als kรถnnte man so ganz nebenbei unbeabsichtigt alle Punkte aus Artikel II der Genozidkonvention durchfรผhren.

This summer, a team of robots explored a simulated martian landscape in Germany, remotely guided by an astronaut aboard the International Space Station. This marked the fourth and final session of the Surface Avatar experiment, a collaboration between ESA and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to develop how astronauts can control robotic teams to perform complex tasks on the Moon and Mars.
The session introduced new levels of autonomy and complexity. NASA astronaut Jonny Kim operated two robots โ ESAโs four-legged Spot and DLRโs humanoid Rollinโ Justin โ to retrieve scattered sample containers and deliver them to a lander. Spot navigated the terrain autonomously, while Justin was guided through a mix of direct control and pre-set commands. This setup allowed Jonny to delegate tasks and focus on higher-level decisions, building on other sessions where robots required full teleoperation.
In a second scenario, ESAโs Interact rover transported DLRโs robot dog Bert to a cave entrance. After removing a boulder, Jonny deployed Bert, which then simulated a malfunction in one of its legs. Jonny had to retrain Bertโs walking algorithm in real time before it continued into the cave and detected signs of martian ice. This tested how operators respond to unexpected challenges and adapt robotic systems on the fly.
The robots are controlled from the International Space Station using a custom-built interface developed by ESA and DLR, combining a joystick and a haptic-feedback device. The interface allows switching between first-person view for immersive teleoperation and a top-down map for broader mission oversight. This flexibility lets the astronaut manage multiple robots efficiently, balancing direct control with strategic delegation.
Over four sessions, the Surface Avatar team has refined its approach to human-robot interaction, improving both teleoperation and task delegation to autonomous systems. The experiment has also helped to identify which tasks astronauts prefer to control directly and which can be safely handed over to robotic systems, offering valuable insight for future mission planning.
