Une bande dessinée évoquant un futur imaginaire des transports publics en région liégeoise
En 1987, j'avais réalisé une bande dessinée qui imaginait ce que pourrait être le futur des transports publics en région liégeoise entre 1988 et l'an 2000...
Pourquoi la région liégeoise?
Cela se passe dans la région liégeoise car j'y habitais et j'avais de grands projets pour la ville... On sait ce qu'ils sont devenus... mais cette BD est la base de mon travail de stage trois ans plus tard... On peut dire que j'ai de la suite dans les idées...
Comparaison entre la (science-)fiction et la réalité
Le transport secondaire par Métro, Tram et Bus a été régionalisé au début des années 1990 et les STI ont été intégrées à la société régionale qui a succédé à l'entreprise nationale SNCV. Seule la STIB est restée la STIB. La STIL, STIC et STIV (Liège, Charleroi et Verviers) ont été intégrées dans le TEC lui-même subdivisé en 5 entités TEC-Hainaut, TEC-Charleroi, TEC-Brabant Wallon, TEC-Namur-Luxembourg et TEC-Liège-Verviers. De Lijn a quant à elle absorbé la MIVA et la MIVG (Antwerpen/Anvers et Gent/Gand), elle a opté pour une structure proche de la défunte SNCV qui avait fêté ses 100 ans en 1985... Les lignes vicinales arrivant à/partant de Bruxelles ont été intégrées dans le TEC ou De Lijn.
Pour ce qui concerne Liège, si le T.A.U. avait été promis aux Liégeois par De Croo en 1985 : "Le T.A.U. doit venir et viendra à Liège" clamait le ministre libéral flamand, surnommé le fossoyeur du rail du fait que c'est sous son ministère que fut appliqué le plus grand plan de restructuration de la SNCB avec la suppression de 232 arrêts et de nombreux tronçons de ligne... Et en 1987 lorsque je réalisai cette BD très optimiste, la réalité était plutôt, comme en 2025, aux économies tous azimuts... L'histoire se répète décidément...
De T.A.U. aucune trace, si ce n'est des brochures de l'époque, cet énième projet de transport urbain de masse ayant été abandonné face aux coûts exorbitants qu'il aurait engendré... Finalement et après bien des palabres... et des retards endémiques, une ligne de tramway moderne a été inaugurée en 2025! Il aura fallu quarante ans pour doter Liège d'un moyen de transport moderne.
Malheureusement, cette ligne risque de rester longtemps l'unique ligne pour des raisons d'économies budgétaires... Sous l'ancienne législature, il avait été décidé de prolonger la ligne de chaque côté vers Seraing et vers Herstal ce qui revenait à créer un axe ferré un peu dans l'esprit de ce qui avait été conçu pour le métro automatisé. Plus question non plus de faire une boucle urbaine (qui aurait suivi l'itinéraire de l'ancienne ligne 4 bien connue des liégeois)...
Dans la bande dessinée, c'est un véritable réseau de tramways modernes et de métro qui voit le jour pour une desserte efficace par transport public... La ville restera sans doute encore longtemps congestionnée par les nombreuses voitures qui y pénètrent encore et toujours... L'avenir nous dira si le tramway tiendra ses promesses... de désengorger quelque peu la ville. Si l'on regarde à Luxembourg-ville, de l'autre côté de la frontière, le tramway et l'amélioration continue de l'offre alliée à une gratuité nationale ne semble pas décoller les automobilistes de leur siège...
Au niveau de la SNCB, peu des choses imaginées ne sont devenues réalité si ce n'est un semblant de réseau suburbain de trains S mais aux fréquences faméliques dans beaucoup de cas, peu de nouveaux arrêts si ce n'est la réouverture de la ligne 125 A entre Liège-Guillemins et Flémalle-Haute par Ougrée et Seraing. L'ancienne ligne du plateau de Herve a été utilisée comme amorce de la ligne à grande vitesse vers l'Allemagne, il y a donc peu de chances que cette ligne revive un jour... Sur la ligne de Visé, il n'y a toujours pas de projet de nouveaux/de réouvertures d'arrêts... Et la ligne Ans-Liers, remise en état et électrifiée dans les années 1970 dans le cadre d'un projet de RER déjà, a été déferrée et est aujourd'hui un RAVeL (voie verte).
Conclusion
Bref, près de quarante ans après cette utopie et malgré un changement conséquent en matière de transport public induit par le changement climatique et la nécessité de décarboner nos sociétés, les projets et visions d'avenir manquent toujours autant en 2025 qu'elles manquaient en 1987...
Aurons-nous un jour des politiciens qui ont une vision à long terme? Poser la question, c'est un peu y répondre et cette réponse semble de plus en plus négative... Les priorités ont changé à la lueur de regains de tensions géopolitique qui nous ont fait entré dans une sorte d'hystérie collective et les milliards d'euros, les centaines de milliards même coulent à flots mais pour les armes et non pour une société où se renforce la cohésion et un meilleur partage du territoire...
Les temps changeront encore à l'avenir... Espérons que nous deviendrons plus sage dans un avenir proche... Utopiste un jour, utopiste toujours!

Why?
Well, as with anything to do with the brain and with emotions, it’s hard to say for sure. But it’s likely a bit to do with evolution, and a bit to do with some key neurological changes that occur in the teenage years.
Those songs act as a musical key to a neurological time capsule that transports us back to the intense emotions of our adolescent brain – a time of many firsts.
i ws forced to do it recently and noticed that they enforce usage of black terminal, like it is in the command prompt in windows.
it was a pain in the ass to keep switch colors just to touch that one powershell module and my first priority to replacing with with a python equivalent. they still think that the powershell module is being used, but it's no longer capable of working in this environment and they're going to have to spend $$$ to make it useable because i forsee LOT of difficulty and delays in bringing it up to spec.
I dont use powershell. I use ZSH on My Gaming PC cause its POSIX and and has autocorrect and auto complete also with CachyOS They replicate fish features. I use the Default good'ol bash on my Laptop running Debian that's on Life support because I dont care. I tried Fish but didnt like the no POSIX compliance(ik they wanna fix POSIX but its annoying)
I have used powershell on windows and Linux and I really like that the data that is moved through a pipe is encapsulated in objects. But in the end I stuck with zsh.
It is not always Bash. Zsh comes as a default with some Arch based distros like Manjaro (xfce) and Garuda, plus Kali of course. But what is the point to use PowerShell in Linux? .. Azure, Exchange or Windows servers or something else I don't get?
I use PowerShell on Linux for work stuff. We maintain a set of Azure deployment scripts that were originally developed on PS 4 and 5 for Classic Azure. They’ve been migrated to AzureRM and now PS Core and Az. The scripts are now fully cross-platform.
We even use some PS remoting over SSH for remotely deploying stuff on Linux VMs where we run some bash commands for configuration.
I started with bash scripting years ago and never really used PS for Windows or exchange server admin. Just in the last decade for Azure stuff.
I used to use fish but I'm learning Unix right now and am trying to use only defaults so I can learn freebsd the way it exists on a dvd, so right now I've been using the Bourne shell
Only when I'm doing MS shit for work. Otherwise I find it kind of a pain. I get that some of it's ideas are nice, but functionally it doesn't actually do anything for me on unixy systems that bash doesn't so I don't. I'm not going to install it on all my servers so using it for scripting doesn't make sense and I do more Linux admin than MS.
I use powershell for some scripting. I've been using .net/powershell forever and I know it better than python. If bash can't handle it in a few lines, and I don't have to use python, I'll go powershell.
I've used powershell in previous jobs and if you learn it really well I cannot deny it is super powerful.
For a college project, a friend of mine somehow made a hexadecimal file dumper with it, with formatting and everything (think like what you would see in wireshark) in one, reasonably long, line of powershell.
However I'm just not a big fan of it personally for syntactical reasons (even with the syntax being super logical) and much prefer bash, or other unix-like native shells. I've been thinking about taking zsh for a spin recently to see what it's like.
