#UK - Make Votes Matter
In most #democracies, a multi-party system wouldn’t be a problem. Many of the world’s most successful democracies have a broad range of parties that reflect different points of view, and political cultures that facilitate working together in their country’s interest.
However, our voting system is built to stifle political diversity.
If held under First Past the Post, the 2029 election will be little more than a lottery.
Millions of votes will be effectively wasted. We´ll get MPs supported by fewer than 1 in 4 of their constituents. And whichever party wins, we’ll almost certainly end up with a government that the vast majority of the public opposes.
