I saw an announcement from the Village today that as part of the summer concerts in the park, or whatever they call them, one of my favorite bands, The Gufs, is going to be playing a free show in the park on 8/14, which is literally two blocks down from my house.
I saw these guys when they they played in the basements at house parties when I went to UWM, before they actually got a record deal. Gonna be great to see them again!

If you like that one, check out the Rough Rider Classic Carbon Barlow. The markings are a little different, but the scales are the same. The main difference being the use of T10 (aka 1095 carbon steel) for the blades instead of 440A stainless knife steel.
The White Smooth Bone is what the white one you like is called. You can dye white bone scales to any color you fancy pretty easily too.
Rough Rider makes all the traditional patterns in most of these scale materials. So if you arent a fan of a barlow, but like a trapper or a muskrat or canoe or whatever...you are likely to find one in the material that tickles your fancy for not much money. Which is nice because if you lose it, no big deal.
Most of their knives are 440A Stainless blades, but they also make a few in T10 and VG10. But 90% of them are going to be 440A Stainless.

Vox vuelve a agitar el avispero con mensajes antinmigración. Esta vez con dos vallas publicitarias racistas en El Ejido que han desatado la polémica y que ahora la oposición ha denunciado por posible incitación al odio.
El Ayuntamiento del municipio de Almería acusó a Vox de llevar a cabo una “deplorable política de provocación”, después de las críticas en redes sociales y por parte de partidos como PSOE, IU o Por Andalucía. El jueves los carteles aparecieron tapados con lonas negras, aunque finalmente fueron destapados de nuevo ante las críticas de Vox, que había acusado al PP de censurar con “presiones” a las empresas contratadas para colocar las vallas.
Las vallas mostraban a dos mujeres, una de ellas con niqab, y una pregunta: “¿Qué Almería quieres?”. Junto a la mujer con niqab aparecían los logos de PP y PSOE, mientras que junto a la mujer que no llevaba niqab, aparecía el logo de Vox.
El Consistorio ha anunciado que estudia acciones legales para exigir su retirada definitiva por considerar que los mensajes “contribuyen a polarizar” el clima social. “Vox contribuye a la estrategia de polarización de Sánchez mejor que nadie”, han dicho en un comunicado, en el que han cargado también contra la política migratoria del PSOE, que, aseguran, genera un “mayor efecto llamada”.
Todo ello en un momento de tensión tras los altercados hace solo unas semanas en Torre Pacheco, donde decenas de ultras acudieron al municipio para “cazar” inmigrantes, generando altercados con los vecinos y la policía. Unos hechos que, precisamente, recordaron a los de hace 25 años en El Ejido, donde también se vivió una ola xenófoba en los 2000.
Izquierda Unida ha emitido una solicitud de denuncia por la instalación de las vallas y han criticado su contenido “racista, machista y xenófobo”. “El Ejido no puede retroceder 25 años”, han añadido en su comunicado, en el que especifican que las imágenes “asocian de manera peyorativa a la comunidad musulmana con un modelo social negativo”. El partido ha acudido a la Fiscalía ante la posibilidad de que se trate de un delito de odio.
“La verdad es que no se trata de una crítica política legítima, sino de un mensaje que estigmatiza a personas por su origen racial y religioso”, ha señalado Enrique Usoz, coordinador local de la Asamblea de IU El Ejido.
El PSOE, por su parte, ha denunciado ante la Policía Nacional los carteles por posible incitación al odio.
El viernes, la portavoz parlamentaria de Por Andalucía, Inmaculada Nieto, se pronunció sobre la polémica y calificó lo ocurrido como “una absoluta infamia”. Según ha criticado Nieto en unas declaraciones remitidas a los medios, esta campaña “busca incendiar las calles, que busca el odio, que busca otra vez la quiebra de la convivencia democrática”.
