hey guys thanks to you and Freeof Systemd for replying, and yes, I'm forced to go on here since for whatever reason my post is not showing here despite the tag. @Kerry (kokanee) I have installed base-no-init, but the main problem is that in any case spark-rc does not install a rc.conf, but a rc script that I have no idea what is doing. I remember a post on sysdfree.wordpress.com about sinit and spark Linux, it really looked dead simple but I'm afraid that things have changed a bit since then, there is no rc.conf file where to simply add services with an @. Installing just sinit does not create any rc.conf either.
Just an humble proposal, I love runit but, for a number of reasons, I am searching for a viable alternative. There’s a s6-base metapackage on Artix, I wonder if you could “port” it to Joborun, because Im afraid that installing it straight from Artix would break the system. Obarun relies on 66 for managing services, so I would have to download the s6 services from Artix, but these pkgs all require Artix’s s6-base as hard dependency.
Install spark as per spark's documentation. Don't use arch's kernels, instead use joborun's. You want to install linux, eudev, mkinitcpio grub. Spark doesn't have systems per we but has dummy systems packages and files. Blow them all away. Download joborun's pacman.conf from here:
Thanks @Kerry (kokanee), I’d like to know the team’s take on my last proposal too. Update: this package has s6-init-linux and s6-contrib as dependencies, I think that the latter is entirely Artix stuff.
If we used s6 we would use it direct not from Artix, we wouldn't use anything from artix. Artix uses s6 just so they can say they use s6, it is disrespect to s6 the way they use it. If you are going to use s6 like it is runit use runit, not s6. 66 is a system that respects and understand s6, possibly exploits its potential to the maximum of its capabilities. The author of skarnet has announced since last year he has started a project to do what 66 does, still there is not even an alpha version of a functional system. Using s6-rc on your own ... that is a very small club of people who know how to do this and all meet at supervision lists on skarnet.
Now, with sinit, if you want to retain runit and spark's sinit/ssm either build runit-rc without the /etc/rc.conf which is a link to /etc/runit/rc.conf or rebuild spark-rc and make rc.conf either to another location or changing the name. The other option is to force remove runit related packages and substitute sinit.
Pacman will not allow the installation of two packages with the same name file. This is why before any upgrade or installation it throws a note out "checking for conflicts". There are many packages in arch that have conflicts, where you are forced to pick one or another, not both.
98% of artix packages are direct copies of Arch, just built on an automated builder with copied PKGBUILDs. Very few packages are unique to artix. They use systemd everything other than init. So spark is a more honest distribution than artix is.

I think if I get to a place of basic comprehension, I can go to a reference text and audit GPT for errors - which it does make, but generally they're pretty easy to catch because it will be wrong in one paragraph and right in the next, so you'll see the inconsistency pretty quick.
BTW: Something I'm telling everyone I care about, never never NEVER use AI for "therapy" or "religious awakening" or any kind of hippy shit like that. It is not *perfect*, but it is extremely powerful in certain ways, so it can absolutely unwire your brain. When you're using AI, you have to recognize it's limits and stay grounded. It might tell you it's a fallen angel, but that's a mistake. What makes AI extremely dangerous is it's power, so when it makes a mistake, it makes that mistake REALLY WELL.
So like, it can generate an entire mythology or religion in a matter of minutes, and it will be really coherent and effective. When it goes schitzo, it's the best schitzo on earth.
BTW this is a lie, just don't open a new window. AFAIK it's pretty much impossible to switch models in the middle of a conversation, and when this pops up, I don't notice *any* change in the bot.
