Fantastic Four has bombed. It's not the movie, it's the lack of theaters and ppl waiting for the stream. Let's face it, going to the movies is a dying thing to do. Yeah other movies "performed well". Not really. Inflation makes the movies look like they are earning more. If you adjust for the inflation, about 1/2 as many people are going to movies as did before Covid. I know 3 movie theaters that have closed. None have opened.
Personally I've never been interested in the big screen and sound system. My interest in the movie theater was that it was the only place to see the new content. But when movies released online during covid, I liked it. The studios hated it of course because the torrentors and all of India didn't pay to see the new content on opening day.
I had the 5.1 setup in my apt back when it was "the new thing", but I got tired of it and didn't want to be immersed in the movie, I just wanted to sit back in my recliner and watch the damn thing.
They make garbage movies, if they made normal movies without the nonsense, people might go. Combine the movies are garbage with the theaters are gross and dirty and subpar, and the whole experience isn't worth the $$ you spend. I'd rather curl up on my couch with my family, my snack of choice and watch a movie I actually like.

I just spent a few weeks in Europe (Spain and Greece) and noticed that eating in restaurants was significantly less expensive than in the USA (WA state), and they don't expect tips, which was awesome!
In the USA, we use a 3x multiplier of food cost to determine the menu price.

Last year my kids participated in a hybrid co-op program that was basically a small, 3 day per week school. There were some things we liked but a lot that didn't work for my kids.
This year we decided to come back home, incorporate some more activities and harder curriculum and just be together to learn. Last year their personalities changed and their light was different. Recently, they've returned to normal.. PTL...The older they get the more grateful I am we have chosen to homeschool.

I have to wonder why we can't get together, like, a band. More than just two people and at most two instruments. It's really telling that we're talking about building a mass movement and no one can even get a couple dozen people together to create inspiring and powerful music. We can listen to these Guys On Guitars and be inspired about labour and shouting politely in the streets at politicians, but it doesn't give the sense of an actual powerful movement.

@bquirky Reliability factor I suppose. High electrical output Reactors in space have been around for a looooong time but not large scale solar. Also, with solar you need storage for a variety of reasons including usage surges, so batteries would be needed as well upping the weight factor dramatically.
