not used myself but I'm aware of the PERIPAD-706 which has three physical buttons. Less of a recommendation, more an awareness of the sparse options available.
Again not exactly what you asked for, but maybe a trackball fits that use case as well? They require no movement, are precise and generally have mechanical buttons -- however they tend to be a little more bulky which might or might not be an issue for you.
Not a direct answer but it helped me to rebind the two keys to the right of the spacebar to left and right click. I had to rebuild the firmware to enable mouse support which was a pain and I can't remember any of it, but doing so did help me.
And I swear by the Magic Trackpad for an external device, it's just good enough that I never worry about the thing misunderstanding how many fingers I intended to click or scroll with

The entire fucking day I have been busy preparing the servers (again) for new backup and staging for disroot. And, boy itโs been going horrible. Working with old server is just such a fucking pain. I feel like an alchemist or some nuclear physicist Those machines are so fragile, that one minute everything is fine and the second itโs not booting. Or the memory breaks or some other shitโฆ. I have bunch of the oldies and parts and trying to ducttape two working and stable servers and itโs fucking impossible! Not to mention no fucking firmware available anywhere (g11) cause dell decided to just remove โem (no mirror no nothing, just gone and fuck you!). And now just as I thought I was ready to install OS, one just started spinning Fans like crazy and got slow as hell, probably due to faulty cpu or ram. And second one, upon adding secondary SAS cable, just stopped POSTING! Fuck! I hate this old shit!!! Itโs been great but itโs time to annihilate โem and throw it into a bin damn it!
