Le branchement physique peut par contre poser problème avec le support d'origine qui place le port très près du cintre. Ca devrait le faire avec une prise coudée ou avec un autre support (Garmin par exemple, avec l'adaptateur disponible chez Hammerhead).

Mon GPS de vélo Wahoo est mort: depuis hier, il perd en permanence la connexion satellite et ce, malgré un reset total.
Temps de le remplacer (saloperie de société du jetable, c’est acceptable, c’est mon deuxième en 10 ans)
J’hésite en reprendre un Wahoo car j’aime l’interface hyper simple et l’absence de touchscreen. Mais ayant une montre Garmin pour l’apnée, je me dis que ça simplifierait si je passais à Garmin.

Mon cas était semblable au tien : mon premier GPS était un Wahoo Roam v1 (celui de @n1k0). J'ai adoré naviguer avec, l'interface était simple, mais il y avait quelques bugs connus et une autonomie qui ne me convenait plus (il reste utilisable et d'ailleurs je l'ai mis entre les mains de @Camille_Poulsard qui va pouvoir se faire son avis et lui offrir peut-être une 3e vie 🤩)
J'ai jamais compris pourquoi on achetait ces objets... Je roule pourtant depuis des décennies dans différents pays et j'avoue être passé directement du compteur vélo / carte papier au smartphone qui fait tout : télécommunications, cartes (OSM) routage, apn, etc. Ça doit être une façon de rouler sans doute... @ploum @tcrouzet
Chez nous c'est montre (coros vertix pour moi / Garmin fenix pour mme.) fixée sur le guidon. Decath vend une sorte de support à clipper sur le guidon sur lequel on attache la montre comme au poignée. Testé et approuvé en vtt, comme en gravel même engagé. On rentre de la grande traversée gravel du jura. Un petit coup de recharge sur la batterie portative et zou. En attendant le flash c'est parfait😉
j’ai testé les cartes papier sur un Paris-Quimper l’été dernier, ça manque parfois de précision (j’avais des Michelin jaunes), mais c’était très agréable !

Ayant comme toi une montre Garmin, j'ai repris le Edge 1040 Solar de @n1k0. Il a un écran tactile que je verrouille pendant mes sorties et j'ai également enlevé, pour l'instant, la moitié des écrans et données pour rendre l'acclimatation plus facile 😅
Jusque-là je suis conquise en tout cas, et je retrouve sans rien faire sur Garmin Connect les activités de running et autres de ma montre, tout comme celles de cyclisme de ce GPS. L'autonomie est assez incroyable. Tout comme son prix 🙈

Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé dans le continuum espace-temps pour que deux contacts que je'ai eu dans des univers totalement différents (respectivement linuxfr et le vélo en Valais) terminent connectés dans le fediverse?
Pour ceux qui sont sur Garmin et sa plateforme Connect, un Garmin fait sens. Mais, fatigué par des appareils défectueux et, surtout, un SAV nul à chaque fois, juste bon à proposer un rabais sur un nouveau modèle, j'ai décidé de laisser Garmin de côté.
J'utilise un Hammerhead Karoo 2 depuis plusieurs mois et en suis vraiment très satisfait.
L’automne dernier, après avoir décidé de ne plus utiliser mes appareils Garmin défectueux, j’ai acheté un Karoo de Hammerhead dans sa version 3. Et je n’aurais pas pu faire un meilleur choix. Voilà…
Depuis la plateforme Hammerhead, encore assez indigente, les fichiers vont sur Ride with GPS, Strava ou Komoot (directement) ou encore VisuGPX (via Strava) ou Wanderer, la plateforme "fediverse compatible" (à la main ou via Komoot et Strava).

Perso je ne critique pas, j'ai eu un GPS par le passé mais je fais partie de la team sans écran sur mon guidon.
J'accepte de parfois me perdre, tout du moins tant que je reste en Europe où c'est quand même difficile même en passant par les déserts espagnols d'être à des jours de marche de toute forme de civilization. Bref si on accepte de perdre parfois du temps sur le trajet prévu mais aussi de faire de bonnes surprises, c'est pas mal non plus. Et ça affute le sens de l'orientation que beaucoup semblent avoir perdu.
Je me rappelle d'une période pas si éloignée de ça où les coureurs de Paris-Roubaix le faisaient avec des 25mm et où on ne chiait pas dans notre froc en empruntant une route non goudronnée ou un léger single vtt avec des boyaux de 28.

Lorsque nous avons voyagé entre la Suisse et l’Espagne avec l’un de nos enfants, je me voyais mal partir «au pif» chaque fois qu’il manquait une balise sur l’Eurovélo. Au risque de finir sur des routes franchement désagréables (nationales 2+1 par exemple).
bien sûr que si. Il convient juste d'ajuster le niveau de détail en fonction du contexte. Tu es dans une partie "de transition" entre 2 villes ou village, pas besoin de rentrer dans de gros détails.
Tu cherches à atteindre la cascade bidule ou le sentier machin, tu vas rentrer plus dans les détails depuis un point de repère facile à trouver. Et ce sans même toucher une carte papier. Et je ne dis pas qu'avoir un smartphone avec organic/comaps ou demander à des êtres humains en cas de gros doute est interdit.

Let's get this out of the way: WIndows and mac os have superior app support than our Linux desktops have. We do have plenty of great software, alternatives to most, if not all, the biggest proprietary utilities that people use.
Professionals that rely on these niche applications need the missing 10% of features in most cases. And even if they could do without these 10%, there's still the matter of compatibility with your existing projects, files, and the training required.
Linux still fails at that, even though we could still say that these app developers fail at bringing their apps to Linux, the fact remains: their apps aren't on Linux, and so the pros that depend on them aren't on Linux either.
Second area where Linux fails is gaming
We've come a long way. With Proton, Steamplay, Heroic Games Launcher, Lutris, and plenty of other awesome utilities, gaming on Linux is a reality. For singleplayer titles. If you love your day one multiplayer sessions from the latest AAA titles,though, Linux does NOT work well.
Anti cheat is coming, in the meantime, 50% the top 10 most played games on Steam don't run on Linux for multiplayer, or at all. And that number grows if you start looking at games that aren't on Steam.
Third area where Linux fails is hardware.
First thing is, Linux distros don't ship preinstalled on most hardware. We have tons of hardware manufacturers and resellers, and even bigger ones like Dell and Lenovo start shipping devices with Ubuntu or Fedora.
We have Tuxedo and SLimbook, Starlabs and System76, Entroware, Purism, Juno Computers, the Pine64, and probably a lot more that I'm forgetting. But none of these devices are making their way in a general, mass market, retail store.
The goal is to make sure that people SEE that these options exist. They probably won't buy them outright, but after your second computer renewal, maybe you decide to go for the one that's slightly cheaper, with that interesting looking OS.
FInal area where Linux fails is the choice.
Not because we lack choice. And, surprisingly, not because we have too much choice. Simply because we have a lot of choices, and they're super hard to present in a legible manner
Distrowatch is not a good resource for picking a distro. Its ranking system makes no sense for newcomers and the website looks straight out of the 90s. No way anyone wants to browse that to find which distro they should use.
Distro Chooser is way more user friendly, but after you completed the questionaire, you're presented with something like 40 options, which doesn't narrow it down at all.
Almost all the answers are valid. It all depends on what the user wants, likes, is used to, is looking for, their hardware, their ethical preference... It's virtually impossible to answer this kind of question:

ok i have a plan for the trailing arm now. i am gona increase the strut travel slightly, and also inlude an elastomer bump stop for added safety to prevent bottoming out.
