@sirjoho Pretty much got what I expected. It did a good job of scaffolding everything out. But the game design has too much nuance for it to understand. I'd say it completed about 50% of the project in a single run. I need to review all of this and then I'll use cursor agents to tweak it into place. I'd grade this a solid B for following instructions and writing a running app.
In terms of replacing a software dev, I give it a grade D.
@sirjoho Following up on this, turns out the game is more functional than I thought. I misunderstood what the front-end was doing. A few more tweaks and I'll be about 75% there. Which is where I wanted to be.
I'm gonna change my grade from a D to a C. With the caveat that I was able to give it very precise technical specs.
Bottom line, you need to be an experienced dev, explaining everything in intricate detail. Then it's like having a jr dev there to bang out the boring parts.

Just a general tip - When possible, it's a lot more effective to make someone's behavior not pose a bother than it is to try to convince them to change behavior. IE - the hall light being left on is a bother to me. Getting my roommate (not you, bestie, before you) to turn it off was a battle, and involved confrontation. The problem got better when I could turn it off from bed, and went away when I made it turn itself off.
If you can make someone's problem behavior fix itself, do that.
Further example on that light... Out of spite, for some fucking reason... That same prior roommate would deliberatly use the lightswitch to cause the smart bulb to disconnect, and then leave the light on. I didn't even attempt that confrontation. I just researched and found a bulb with a component for behind the lightswitch to make it opperate regrdless of the switch. Now he could try that all he wanted, it made no difference, and the light would turn itself off like I needed. I won.
It can also be kinder when it's ND related. Current roomie forgets to turn the bathroom light and heater/fan off. Drives me crazy. So I added a motion sensor. No need to put a demand on her, and I still get what I wanted.

@Miakoda Totally. I need to do more IoT things; most I've done is a garage door opener. You say you do light switches without offending your landlord? (Presumably without messing with your place's electrical?)
@ferret Yes. For one - wiring in one that fits in the box can easily be reversed before move out. But without that, there are lightswitch covers. Turn the switch on, put on the cover. Put in a zigbee bulb, and put a zigbee button by that covered up switch.
