My insurance gave me a $150 gift card for confirming I had a mammogram. They really, really want low-income women to put their boobs in a scanner, so much they offer money. On the one hand, thanks I will take it. On the other hand, I'm sure the money funding this scheme could be put to better uses. It's a Medicaid program and possibly one reason Medicaid faces drastic cuts, because this is a questionable way to redistribute cash.

this guy was “advised” by his Deputy Brigade Commander to add the award that hadn’t been approved on an application for a job in the White House. The Deputy Brigade Commander is typically a Lieutenant Colonel. The Bronze Star has to be signed off by the first General Officer in your chain of command, one echelon above his Brigade Commander, a Colonel who’s said it was good to go. The simple answer is this dude is a turd, his command set him up, and he took it, hook line and sinker.
