Set up an appointment with a new pain therapist. At the end of our intake call, I asked, "Hey, just to be clear, there's no binding arbitration waiver in your paperwork, right?"

That was 3 days ago. I was just getting ready to drive over and he texted me this, then called me and told me he wouldn't treat me because being asked about his paperwork "made him uncomfortable."

I guess from now on I just go to the first appointment, read the paperwork and if it's objectionable, cancel and walk out?

It works for me because I feel a mutual respect and trust in the therapeutic relationship I have with my clients. It's not always easy to decide between a more promising technique or whether to forestall it with more nurturing methods first. But having a spoken threat of legal action in my consciousness, is not conducive to a healthy therapy process. I hope you understand and find effective therapy and lasting comfortable function.

Then they asked a bunch of screening questions including if I was vaccinated against COVID. I answered them all.

Then I asked them the same questions. She wouldn't answer because it was private information.

So, I declined my appointment opting to go later when things had calmed down.

In protest of US President Donald Trump’s border policies, the Girl Guides of Canada is suspending all group travel to their southern neighbor. The suspension will go into effect in September, and will include both previously approved and future trips.

In a statement to CTV News, the Girl Guides of Canada’s media team said, "This decision is rooted in our commitment to inclusivity and the safety of all our members. It was prompted by the recent restrictions put on equal entry into the United States, as some members may hold citizenship from non-Canadian countries and could be impacted by the restrictions."

The group added, "At Girl Guides of Canada, we prioritize creating a safe, inclusive and accepting environment for all members. These values extend to the travel experiences we offer." The group, which is the Canadian equivalent of the Girl Scouts in the US, did not say how long the suspension on travel to the US will be in place.
