In Communism, the lack of commodities is due to corruption, inefficiency and economic mismanagement inherent to Socialist planned economy.
In Capitalism, it comes about due to an exponetial concentration of capital wealth and purchasing (also political) power in very few hands due to compound interest and currency inflation. Leaving the vast majority of the people increasingly destitute.

La nouvelle est arrivée en Espagne et même en Australie. En France, à Noisy-le-Sec (Seine-Saint-Denis), un groupe d'islamistes a tordu la main à une mairie pour ne pas diffuser, en plein air, un film accusé de « prôner l'homosexualité » et de « porter atteinte à l'image de la femme ». Dix jours après le fiasco de la projection de Barbie, l'affaire se révèle moins spectaculaire et plus complexe.
Le 8 août, la tornade médiatique a été déclenchée par un communiqué public du maire Olivier Sarrabeyrouse (PCF). Il y évoquait les intimidations et menaces d'une « dizaine de personnes » sous « la pression d'un individu ». Une plainte a été déposée et une enquête ouverte par le parquet de Bobigny pour menace, violence ou acte d'intimidation envers un chargé de mission de service public.
Une pression a bien été exercée sur les agents. Mais d'où venait-elle ? Dans le communiqué, deux mots ont mis le feu aux poudres : « obscurantisme » et « fondamentalisme ». Deux vocables qui sous-entendent une pression religieuse, islamiste. Et on imagine vite la scène : une dizaine de barbus encerclant les agents municipaux, leur interdisant de diffuser Barbie, film censuré pour des raisons religieuses en Algérie, à Oman ou au Koweït.
La machine médiatique a très logiquement embrayé. Pourtant, dans son communiqué, l'élu parle aussi de « manipulation bassement politicienne » et de menaces « à des fins politiques ». Ce n'est pas un hasard. Selon plusieurs sources locales, l'affaire Barbie s'inscrit dans une querelle politico-associative locale de longue date.
Le Londeau, un terrain miné ?
Pour la comprendre, il faut se représenter le Londeau, un quartier enclavé au bord d'un nœud autoroutier. Les habitants attendent le renouvellement urbain avec impatience, ils déplorent la saleté des lieux et ils subissent un point de deal très vivant au pied de l'une des sept tours de dix-huit étages.
Même les associations culturelles de Noisy-le-Sec entrent peu au Londeau. En 2023, l'unique centre social du quartier, géré par un membre d'une liste d'opposition, a vu ses subventions coupées. La mairie l'estimait insuffisamment actif. Il a dû fermer ses portes. Idem pour une association sociale bien connue dans le quartier, elle aussi réputée proche de l'ex-majorité UDI, qui avait tissé un réseau au Londeau.
Il y a trois ans, cette même association avait proposé la diffusion de cinéma en plein air. Cela lui avait été refusé par la mairie, qui voulait s'en charger elle-même. « Ils l'ont organisé un mois après, soupire un associatif déçu. Au début, on voulait travailler avec eux. Mais à chaque fois qu'on proposait d'organiser quelque chose, ils nous disaient qu'ils avaient leurs propres équipes. Ils ont fait venir des éducateurs extérieurs au quartier. » L'association s'est mise en sommeil depuis trois ans, mais « ils n'ont pas digéré et pas oublié », confirme un conseiller municipal d'opposition.
Ce contexte n'est pas étranger à l'affaire Barbie. Avant la projection, une personnalité du quartier, proche de l'association, a contacté la mairie pour réclamer un changement de film, mais sans argument d'ordre religieux. Il pensait plus prosaïquement que la programmation était à côté de la plaque.
« Certaines d'entre nous ont cru que ce Barbie était un dessin animé », confirme une maman. Elles ont été déçues. Sorti en 2023, le Barbie féministe de Greta Gerwig n'était peut-être pas adapté au public local. « À leur âge, reprend la maman, les enfants ne comprennent pas toutes ces histoires de patriarcat. » En juillet 2024, un film avait rassemblé près de trois cents personnes en plein air au Londeau. Le Ballon d'or évoquait l'épopée footballistique d'un ado guinéen.
La mosquée locale pas du tout impliquée
Barbie a failli passer. Alors que les chaises commençaient à être dépliées devant l'écran géant, le 8 août, l'associatif brouillé avec la municipalité a demandé si la programmation avait changé. « Non, ce sera Barbie ou rien », lui a-t-on répondu côté mairie. « Alors ce sera rien », aurait-il répliqué.
Ce « meneur » était accompagné d'une demi-douzaine de jeunes tout au plus. « Des petits, le plus vieux avait 17 ans », raconte une témoin. « Si on avait été là, on aurait peut-être pu jouer les intermédiaires » et éviter le dérapage, déplore un travailleur social.
Repartis du Londeau, les agents de la ville ont fait état des arguments du groupe invoquant la supposée perversité du film. « Les jeunes en ont sans doute parlé au cours de la discussion, mais ce n'est pas le nœud du problème », estime un proche de l'affaire, pour qui la défiance envers la mairie est un élément clé du dossier.
S'il faut chercher avec qui le meneur du groupe vindicatif a pu être en lien dans le passé, ce serait avec l'ex-majorité UDI, et non pas avec la mosquée locale, dont « les fidèles sont âgés et très paisibles », indique la même source. Ces croyants « n'ont aucun intérêt à provoquer le maire, car ils se trouvent en situation précaire pour porter un projet de construction de nouvelle mosquée. Ils ont appris ce qui s'est passé ce soir-là à la télé. »
Ce n'est pas la première fois que le Londeau se montre hostile à l'équipe municipale. Accompagné d'une quinzaine d'adjoints lors d'une visite en 2020, le maire Olivier Sarrabeyrouse (dont la cote de popularité est par ailleurs plutôt élevée, selon un sondage Ifop de mai 2025) avait été visé par des tirs de mortier et s'était fait crever les pneus de son scooter. Il s'agissait, cette fois, de dealers mécontents de la présence des élus. Le 15 août, l'édile communiste a annoncé la reprogrammation de Barbie suivie d'un débat, à la rentrée, dans une salle municipale ou en mairie. Contacté, il n'a pas souhaité s'exprimer.
