I got Clipstudio running with Bottles, though not without some issues, like the launcher not working correctly. Gotta get my Cintiq and Wacom remote up too. If this doesn't work, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I've tried programs like Gimp and Krita, and they just don't feel right for me.
I need a new laptop soon (8gb just doesn't cut it anymore), would be nice if I could just install Mint right away...
I may just have to give up on Linux for now. I can't get my Cintiqs to work, at all, and I was told this was the "easy plug and play" part.
They display an image. Pen is not working. I've tried Input-wacom, doesn't do anything. Tried OpenTabletDriver, which makes the pen do something, but it's impossible to set up correctly.
I doubt running a VM will solve any of this. Very frustrating. Guess I'll just go debloat a Windows installation somewhere...

@amxmln Unfortunately, yes, it's a mess. In the current situation, I really still advice only Debian 12 + Plasma 5 + Krita appimage + some serious tweaks to get color calibration and tablet running well (see the last blog post I wrote).
Recent Fedoras/Arch Wayland in Gnome and Plasma flavor are slowly getting there in term of Tablet GUI and Color Calibration, but still limited by having not a native Krita Wayland solution (but to be fair, Krita on XWayland is not that bad).
@amxmln Linux Mint still has a tablet GUI from Gnome 2 era, very outdated, low featured and unmaintained. OpenTabletDriver isn't a solution I would advice. And running a non-native CSP in Linux is an entry door to get many unexpected bug and stability issue that CSP devs will never fix for you. I totally understand how frustrating it is, and wish you to find a good way to fix your install and produce your art with comfort whatever end solution you find: that's the priority I advice.
Thanks for answering. Fell in love with Mint a few years ago because how easy it was just to get up and running for movies and web browsing, but I have used Debian before.
Switching from CSP will be way more difficult for me, though, but I think I'll get my new laptop up and running, then go for a dual boot to see what I can do, try out Krita or see if I can figure out VMs before I decide on commiting...
@amxmln Yes, Mint is a good desktop (that's what I have in the living room/TV), all my guest feel at ease with it. A shame they are not also having the same level of excellence for our hardware...
I understand switching art software is difficult; but I'll be personally furious if my art skill and ability was linked to the decision of a proprietary company. Krita is what it is, and far to be perfect but allow me to be free of that, and that will always be the priceless advantage of it.
Probably gonna get a new laptop sooner than I thought (thinking of Thinkpad T14, any experiences?)
Will see if I can get the setup to run anyway, but the thing is I really need a stable Cintiq/CSP setup in a month's time for an event, so I'll probably just get my new laptop and do the event with as little worry as possible.
But once that's over, I hope to go back to Linux and start messing around with VMs to see if that can be a solution for me.

When you’re moving to Linux, your first experience matters a lot. If you feel limited, if you don’t understand what you’re doing, or if you have to spend hours researching what to do to make stuff work, you’re going to have a bad experience, and that’s why choosing your distro is a every important step.
Your use case will define what you need to install. What you need to remember is:
All distros can virtually run the exact same software nowadays, so choosing one doesn’t close any doors
All desktop user focused distros can play games.
With that out of the way, we can boil down your choice to 2 factors:
What desktop environment do you want to use
Do you prefer to use something stable, or do you want the latest software available
Desktop environments: GNOME is the one that ships by default on most distributions, including the biggest one, Ubuntu. GNOME is very simple, sleek and minimalistic. It’s really easy to handle once you’ve spent 5 minutes with it. It can be customized using extensions, but these aren’t always super stable. GNOME is the default for Ubuntu, Fedora, and a GNOME variant is also shipped by almost all distributions.
KDE or Plasma is the second big one. it offers customization options for almost everything. From the position of the panel, the widgets you want to add to it, the whole layout of the desktop, the behaviour of the windows, the position of the window controls, everything can be adjusted to your liking. KDE is the default on KDE Neon, its flagship distribution, and KDE variants are available for most major distros.
Now you get many smaller desktop environments. Cinnamon is the pendant of KDE, but using GNOME-like technologies and applications. Its default layout is also very close to wht you’d get on Windows, but it can be changed to your liking easily.
XFCE is a lightweight desktop environment, which might not look as good by default as the big ones, but is still very easy to customize, and runs on lower end machines without a hitch.
Mac users might prefer Pantheon, which ships on elementary OS, and uses a layout reminiscent of OSX, with a similar dock and top bar, minus the global menu.
You can also use MATE, which is using the same technologies as GNOME, but with a more traditional desktop behavior, or Budgie, which is a derivative of GNOME as well, with its own notification center and more customization options.
If your PC is not that fast, I’d recommend XFCE, although KDE can run pretty well with little system resources as well.
The distribution Ok, so now you’ve chosen the desktop environment you want to go with. Now you need to decide which distribution you’re going to get.
GNOME: If you’ve chosen GNOME, and you want stability, your options are either Ubuntu LTS, which has a very stable base, but older software, or Fedora, if you’d rather avoid proprietary software. If you’re allergic to the Ubuntu Orange, Zorin OS is also a very good choice, it uses the same base as Ubuntu LTS, but has tweaks that make it look a lot more modern, in my opinion.
If you’ve chosen GNOME and want the latest software versions and updates, you can go with Manjaro GNOME edition. It’s what we call a rolling release: this means it doesn’t have “versions”, it’s just continually updated with the latest software as they come out.If you want a healthy middle ground between stability, and up to date programs, go for the latest Ubuntu release. ubuntu has long term support releases, OR LTS, but it also has a new version every 6 months.
Pop!OS would also be a nice contender
KDE If you’ve chosen KDE, the stable choice is KDE Neon. It’s a distribution based on Ubuntu LTS, so it’s rock solid, and has the latest KDE Plasma updates as a rolling release.If you’d prefer a more bleeding edge system all around, go for Manjaro KDE, or the latest Kubuntu release
Cinnamon If you’ve elected to use Cinnamon, your stable option is Linux Mint. It’s also based on Ubuntu LTS, and has the latest Cinnamon updates. It’s customizable, simple to use, and won’t die or crash on you.Once again, the less stable route will be Manjaro Cinnamon
XFCE XFCE has less choices, but you can get a very stable one in the form of Xubuntu, the XFCE based Ubuntu variant. Zorin OS Lite also offers a very good looking XFCE.Manjaro XFCE will give you a great, bleeding edge experience.
Pantheon Your only real choice for Pantheon is elementary OS. elementary OS developers actually develop Pantheon as well, and they ship it in a beautiful package.

Conservatism isn't an ideology in my opinion, it's an alignment to preserve and protect a status quo. The status quo that those who are "conservative" in this country wish to protect is the one they've been saying all along: that of the founding, with chattel slavery and women subjugated etc etc.
If conservatives were really what some think of as "true conservatism," if there were an important distinction to be made, then Trump and MAGA would not have been able to rise. The "true conservatives" would have turned away. They did not. There's nowhere to hide now, we ought not provide cover.
I think the word "conservative" should become socially and politically radioactive. It ought to be shameful to be one. It ought to be shameful to have had a family member who was one. They are what they are, they're doing what they're doing, the stuff they said opposite that was a lie.
I knew people who were what is meant when somebody talks about "true conservatives," who actually believed the small-government and personal freedom stuff. I know that's what they were because they aren't conservative anymore in any way that is recognizable as American conservatism.
