In about an hour and a half a ceasefire is finally expected to start in Gaza.
In on the ground reports from Gaza and the West Bank Palestinians are hopeful and celebrate a possible end to large scale bombardment of Gaza. In the West Bank there are reports from Friday of the Palestinian Authority and IOF putting down celebrations.
In Gaza reports are of increased IOF bombings of tent cities.
But maybe in an hour some of this gets better.
This ceasefire deal we're watching take place was offered by Hamas in largely the current form since at least May of last year. And in large part is what they wanted from day one, more humanitarian aid in Gaza, more freedom and less occupation.
They dared to survive and fight under a despicable occupation. The scale of the stuffing the Israeli's imposed on civilians is meant to eclipse and deter the bravery of Palestine's freedom fighters.
No amount of destruction can make us forget them.
Palestine won this war.
The west can destroy all the buildings and infrastructure we want and it simply will never break the will of the Palestinian people.
Palestine won because there always was a genocide but many of us in the West did not understand. The genocide of Palestine is not actually a popular idea in the West and this has forever broken the illusion of Israel as a legitimate state in the public consciousness.
Meanwhile Palestine won our hearts.
Just an hour ago members of Gaza's press gathered in preparation to return to the north and document what they find.

Moments ago Hamas has reportedly delivered to the IOF the names of the first 3 Israeli PoWs who will be returned.
Despite the airstrike breaching the ceasefire the on the ground reality is that the IOF has withdrawn from many areas of Gaza.
In the wake of the withdrawing Israeli military Gaza's police force has begun visible patrols in uniform already.
They are urging calm and are providing timely updates to civilians.
Hamas fighters have also begun to appear on the streets in uniform or in combat attire. They intend to sweep neighborhoods for unexploded ordnance or other dangers as civilians flock to return towards their homes in the south and north.

With a significant reduction in active fighting its finally safer for first responders to move around en masse.

Aid trucks have finally been documented crossing from Egypt into Rafah. Due to delays in ceasefire implementation less aid than was expected will likely cross today but this will hopefully ramp up rapidly over the next few days.
In an epic scene Hamas' Al Qassam Brigades emerged in large numbers still looking well equipped, well dressed and morale is high.
They handed over the first 3 hostages who appear to have been kept in the heart of Northern Gaza all along.
Truly insane bc the IOF has been destroying every inch of this area for months and only succeeded in occasionally killing hostages. This is wild, truly the IOF clearly would never be able to find the hostages without this deal.
The crowd of onlookers were massive and jubilant.
Thousands of civilians packed in to watch the scene, many attempting to get photos and hugs with Hamas fighters. Al Qassam Brigades reports that the number of volunteers who wish to train with them is massive and they will exceed their recruitment goals.
The next move is the expected release of first 90 out of an eventual 1000 Palestinians illegally detained by the IOF after October 7th.
However, many thousands of Palestinians will continue to be held illegally, without charge or with false charges after the 3 phase ceasefire plays out.
This and the continued occupation of Palestine is why I know the genocide isn't over yet and we still can't look away.
Dr. Louisa Baxter, a doctor working for Save the Children in Gaza, explains the work facing Gaza's social services. She estimates a minimum of 17,000 children have no family and will rely on the state and community for support. Given the sheer scale of the destruction of infrastructure she estimates that many kids will continue to die due to food shortages and illnesses. The hard fact is that for many Gazans, this ceasefire may still be too little too late to keep them alive.
Two hours ago the Israelis were seen moving prisoners from Ofer Prison who are expected to be released soon. At every turn Israel is failing to stop the Palestinian liberation movement. Arbitrary jailing of random civilians and diligent politicians is all meant to undermine support for the legitimate and legal resistance of the Palestinian military.
The people can not be scared, tricked or tortured out of supporting their freedom fighters.
There's an absolute torrent of videos posted by civilians expressing love and adoration for the Al Qassam Brigades, who the IDF says they eliminated.
In more signs of support for Hamas there have been large funerals for Hamas freedom fighters whose bodies were recently recovered from what were just last week the frontlines of the resistance.
In addition reports communication lines between all of the Al Qassam Brigades factions and units have been restored and are being strengthed.
The Israelis are far from dismantling Gaza's government and military.
In more signs of abject IOF strategy failure in Gaza Hamas fighters report that they have begun collecting significant amounts of unexploded.
This is both an important operation for civilian safety and also a critical strategic operation which resupplies Al Qassam Brigades fighters with the materials needed to defend Gaza once again when the ceasefire fails.
An estimated ~10% of bombs dropped on Gaza do not explode, which is a staggering amount of free ammunition.
In another act of retribution for the start of the Gaza ceasefire IDF forces have restricted movement within the West Bank over the last 24 hours.
Civilians on the ground say this is the largest restriction in movement in recent memory.
These internal military checkpoints restrict freedom of movement between the cities of Ramallah, Hebron, Qalqilya, Salfit & Bethlehem.

The Israeli "Operation Iron Wall” seems to be targeting medical staff in Jenin. The Director of Jenin Governmental Hospital told Al Jazeera that several nurses, doctors and other staff members had been injured by the IDF shootings in the West Bank.
In the video below a nurse can be seen running from IDF snipers, a man running in the same direction falls injured.

In an extremely embarrassing development for Israel Hussein Fayyad(aka Abu Hamza), commander of the Al-Qassam Brigade's Beit Hanoun battalion, was seen alive and well in Gaza giving a speech on Wednesday at a funeral.
The Israelis had believed and widely reported they killed Abu Hamza in May of last year so this is a shocking turn of events.
In his remarks Hamza spoke about the meaning of victory and describes the current situation as a defeat of the IOF.

Imo Hamas is doing everything they can to very visible demonstrate that the organization is a functioning popular government. The fact uniformed Hamas police can walk the streets unmolested by the IOF is a defeat for Israels stated goals in Gaza.
As reporters make their way back to Gazas north they find disturbing evidence of Israel's mass arrest of the civilian population.
In places the clothing of hundreds of people lay in neat rows, discarded at gun point during an IOF stripped and searched before a forced march.
The emaciated reporter recounts how these strip searches were conducted.
On the 24th reports emerged of multiple instances of deliberate IOF targeting of civilians around Rafah in the Southern Gaza Strip. Palestinians documented 20 victims of these apparent Israeli breaches of the ceasefire deal.

Israel isn't only demolishing buildings and shooting random civilians, all in violation of the ceasefire deal.
Even today they are still restricting Gazans from crossing through "Netzarim" checkpoint. The Israeli's are demanding additional concessions in the next steps of swapping captives.
The Netzarim corridor is the still occupied diving area that splits the Gaza strip in half, allowing the IOF to control north-south movement.

Despite all of these ceasefire violations, Hamas none the less returned their second batch of PoWs on the 25th as promised.
All four of the recently returned Israeli women are IOF soldiers.
As has become a common sight, hundreds of Al Qassam Brigades troops paraded through to streets to extremely positive civilians. The PoWs were returned in good health and hygiene all with ceremonial pomp.
In exchange Israel relaesed dozens of long term hostages.
Among them, Muhammad Al-Tous, who was abducted by Israelis 40 years ago as a child!
They kept him in prison for 39 years, he's the longest held Palestinian prisoner.
He and dozens of others were deported to Egypt instead of returned home in Palestine simply because Israel is hellbent on making Palestinians stateless.
A total of 200 Palestinians were released on the 25th.

The next planned part of this PoW / hostage swap is the re-opening of North-South travel in the Gaza Strip.
So now we wait to see if Israel stops shooting at people who gather to cross.
In this video civilians filmed the crack of Israeli sniper bullets flying passed them on the same day as the prisoner swap.
So that there's no mistake.
Hamas returned 4 Israeli soldiers who were captured on 10/7 from their military outpost at Nahal Oz army base.

These were not innoccent little girls, as the Israeli press is pushing. These were the guards at the gates and they were returned with the utmost respect.

It's disappointing to hear the US again providing material support for Israel, but this is something the resistance has clearly planned for.
In the case of Yemen, they stopped their blockade of US and British ships in the Red Sea as part of the #GazaDeal. They specifically won't stop blocking ships who deal directly with Israel until the ceasefire is fully completed.
Yemen reserved the right to resume broader blockades due to breaches.

Today marks another prisoner exchange in the #GazaDeal.
As has become almost routine Hamas' Al Qassam Brigade's soldiers led a IOF soldier Agam Berger to be handed over to the Red Cross. A total of 3 Israelis were released by Hamas.
As is typical Hamas held a formal ceremony releasing their PoW who clearly has been cared for and was returned in good health despite the scene of an utterly bombed out Jabalia camp surrounding the press conference.
