I have a good imagination of how I want the world to be like: freedom for everyone, fair distribution of goods and services, optimization for the well-being of everyone, prevention of suffering.

But I don't know how to get there, against the resistance of neoliberal capitalism and the opposing push of fascism. Ideally we'd get to a better society with minimal violence and suffering. But how?

I was idly listening to a libreoffice impress presentation for wagie related stuff last week and was really distracted by how someone's phone's screen was on the entire time and she didn't seem to care.
I just learned that iToddlers got this new feature called "always on display" where... you have a display that's always on to display useless information :senkohm:

Along with the stabbings, shootings, and massive drug use!
If there is going to be so many women sexually abused that there's a need for a dedicated area for them, then I would argue that this event is a danger to the safety of women and shouldn't go ahead.

I ask you, what other event would be allowed to go ahead if it had the potential to be a rape fest?

[SOLVED] on debian 13 xfce, what appearance style do I need so the title bar doubles its width?

I use a small notebook so it comes in handy to double the title bar to have space to increase the title font to 16 or 18

On debian 12.11 this was the case, but I don't remember how I configured it or what style I used. The style I now use on debian 13 is adwaita

This made me think of something only slightly related. When my son was 10 he we were in the attic and found a box with computers in it. One was a dos machine, the other an ancient and clunky windows 3.1 laptop.
To him they were archeological relics. I was skeptical that they would boot after 10+ years in the attic, but they did.
He thought the dos machine was broken, til I ran lotus 123 and wordstar. He thought W3.1 was better. Played with them for hours, then took them apart.
