Two years after the heroic Al Aqsa armed uprising, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the revolutionary forces of the Filipino people stand in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their quest for national liberation.
The Al Aqsa armed offensive, mounted by Hamas and other revolutionary Palestinian forces, was a determined act of resistance to break the Israeli siege that had long kept Gaza and the Palestinian people imprisoned on their own land. It exposed in stark terms the apartheid occupation of Palestinian lands. At the same time, through the capture of prisoners of war, it exposed the weakness of the overweening fascist power of the Zionist state of Israel.
In the face of relentless dispossession, occupation, and collective punishment, Palestinians rose to defend their dignity and homeland. The uprising was the latest act in close to a century of resistance. It embodied the revolutionary spirit of a people refusing to accept subjugation.
We join the global condemnation of the Zionist state of Israel and US imperialism for their brutal and criminal response to Palestinian resistance. Their non‑stop bombardment of Gaza has caused hitherto unimaginable death and devastation, killing more than 66,500 people, including at least 18,000 children.
We condemn the Zionist leaders of Israel for the genocide of the Palestinian people. The systematic killing of people and destruction of homes and public infrastructure has been carried with criminal impunity. The destruction of Gaza has resulted in widespread disease and people dying of hunger.
The Zionist state of Israel and the US imperialists aim to drive the Palestinian people out of Gaza and seize their homeland. By choosing to remain in Gaza and defending their homes, families, and communities, the Palestinian people demonstrate courage and determination to resist, and fight for their fundamental right as a people and as a nation.
The Communist Party of the Philippines joins calls for an immediate end to the genocide being carried out by the Zionist state of Israel. The Party reaffirms full solidarity with the Palestinian people’s aspiration for justice, liberation and national self-determination.
We call on workers, youth, and peoples everywhere to extend all possible forms of support and help intensify the struggle against the Zionist regime and its US imperialist backers—until Palestine is free. Through unending resistance, liberation will be won.
