External trackpad for Linux?

**edit: I said wireless when I was actually just thinking external my b

I use Gnome as my main DE and I really like the touch gestures for my workflow, having a wireless trackpad would be really nice.

I've done some research before and seen that most wireless trackpads seem to work just fine with Linux, like the apple magic trackpad and an older out of production one from Logitech. But it doesn't seem that wireless trackpads are super common so I wanted to ask if there were any others anyone could suggest?

I also had the thought that maybe I could make my own by buying a spare trackpad module from Framework but I don't know how feasible that would actually be. I've never done anything like that but it seems like it could hypothetically be possible.

You guys know I've been short on time this year, not able to keep up, properly. @autonomous_collective made me aware of something I did not know before 2 minutes ago...and I thought I'd share it with you guys too, in case you weren't aware of it yet, either.

Remember Agenda 2021, then we bumped them back to Agenda 2030...Well, now, apparently there is a, "Vision 2050"...It's a heads-up.

Really cool project by @untitaker that lets you create programmatic Mastodon lists!

list-bot.woodland.cafe

Examples from codeberg.org/untitaker/mastodo… include:

- mutuals
- all users who haven't posted yesterday, but sometime within the past three days
- all users who haven't posted in over three days
- all users you've interacted with in the past 7 days

This continues to be exhausting. This is a crappy stance from Framework, but you will never convince a capitalist that your rights matter more than their profits.

in reply to Taggart

the dumb thing about this is that they cant even blame capitalism (as awful as that would be too). I strongly doubt they have any data that indicates "[project] being better will help us sell more computers". Instead, they looked at the landscape of open source software, all of the projects that could benefit their customers, and made a decision to set money on fire based on vibes or something and then they doubled down on it once called out, seeing the evidence presented to them.

1.) putting kde and hyprland in the same paragraph while doing anything but drawing a contrast between the two (both practically and ethically) is crazy to me

2.) any attempt to call this purely political betrays a personal belief that whoever is arguing this either believes that this is all a game and nobody's really affected, or they lack the basic level of empathy for normal societal function

3.) as an extension of 2. nrp makes the argument that you can't have a nuanced conversation about this, but this is a conversation about funding (and enabling) people with expressed hateful ideas about other demographics of people. no nuance is necessary here

4.) he said it right there in plain text: this is a deliberate decision, and it deserves a communal deliberate decision in response

sorry, seeing that lukewarm, milquetoast post from a member of the framework team really got me tight, so i had to write a book

Tim Pool likes to point out the method the media uses to create “truth” as a single lie or distorted fact being published in one place and then multiple other sources referencing it or each other to create a web of “authenticity “ around it.

Irving points out that all of modern history was created using largely this same technique.

The European Commission, led by German politician Ursula von der Leyen, has admitted that COVID mRNA vaccines were rolled out without complete safety data, as reported by the Berliner Zeitung.

The rushed authorization prioritized speed and profit over rigorous safety protocols, putting millions at risk.

The "trust the science" mantra was used to silence valid concerns, while dissenters faced censorship, ostracism, and professional ruin.

In Germany, vaccines were effectively mandated through coercive policies: the unvaccinated were barred from restaurants, public events, travel, and many workplaces, essentially excluded from society.

Healthcare workers faced strict mandates, and relentless government and media campaigns branded the unvaccinated as threats, fracturing families and communities.

This wasn’t a choice—it was forced compliance through exclusion.
