Yıllardır dediğim bir şey var. İslam’ı Türkler ve Kürtler bilmez. İslam Arap dinidir, Arap kültürüdür, bunlara uymaz.
Bunu söylemekten asla çekinmedim ve vazgeçmedim.
Çünkü, ''Artık tüm inançlara eşit mesafedeyim'' iddiasında olan Cumhuriyet Rejiminin gerek günlük hayatta gerekse eğitimdeki özel politikaları çerçevesinde yetiştirdiği buradaki insanlar, Hinduizm'i ne kadar biliyorlarsa, Yahudiliği, Hristiyanlığı ne kadar biliyorlarsa, İslami bilgileri de ne yazık ki ortalama o düzeydedir.
Türkiye’de yaşayan normal bir vatandaşın tüm inancı, doğuştan beri akraba ve yakın çevresinin ''sen müslümansın'' demelerinden ibarettir. Oysa İslam sırf inandım demek olsaydı, dünyanın en huzurlu bölgesi asırlardır İslam coğrafyası olurdu.
Ama ne yazık ki değil.
Bu, ''inanıyorum, kalbim temiz, kul hakkı yemiyorum'' türünden basitlikler olarak anlaşılmış olan İslam, sadece dinsiz bir Cumhuriyet öğretisidir, ama ne yazık ki gerçek değil.
Bir kere peygamber öldükten sonra Arapları yönetemeyen idareciler, Kur'an, hadis ve ondan çıkaracakları yorumlarla İslami bir yönetim biçimi olarak ele alıp kılıç zoruyla dinden dönenleri öldürmeselerdi İslam zaten o yıllarda bitmişti.
Kısaca, bu olayı her devrim ya da ihtilal yapılan ülkede muhaliflerin tasfiye edilmeleri gibi düşünün.
Muhammed, ihtiyaca göre günü birlik vahiy indiriyordu. Kur'anı kitaplaştırmadı bile. Okuması yazması olmadığından, ayetlerin çoğunu bazen unuturdu, çoğu zaman bir ayet hatırlatacağı zaman, yazılı olarak da okuyamadığı için vahiy katiplerini çağırırdı.
İslam’ı bugüne getiren şeyler, Türk ve Kürtlerin düşündüğü gibi öyle hoşgörü dini falan değil, dinden dönenlerin öldürülmesi ve maddi manevi sıkıntılı yığınlara cennet vaat edilerek savaştırılmaları, biat ettirilmeleri ve sömürülmeleridir.
İslam modern insana göre değil, İslam kendi çağının bile bilimselliğinden, hukuksallığından ve hoşgörülüğünden bir hayli uzaktır.
Muhammed'in etrafında toplananlar da öyle felsefeciler, bilim adamları falan değildi. Kervan basıp adam öldüren, ellerinde kılıçla yol kesen, ganimet alan, etrafa korku salan kaba saba kişilerdi.
