now, i could either knock out some more client work, which i still have a good pile of, or i could work a bit more on my recirculating chiller which needs some adjustment.
the chiller does work, to an extent, but it can't sink too much heat, so piping the chilled water into the pump cooling block was not the greatest idea. the pump generates a significant amount of heat itself so it's heating up the cooling water to the point where it can only maintain about 15c temp in the bath.
this is obvs unacceptable, i need the water to be closer to 5c. so i need to plumb the pump into a separate passive cooling system.
this shouldn't be too difficult. and i may not even need the water cooling of the pump. i could cut some fins in the pump cooling block and just have it act as a passive heat sink

i just had to spend over an hour adjusting the blades of the makita power planer. it was way out of adjustment from the factory and the blades are difficult to adjust perfectly (probably why it came like that)
build quality is decent for the price, but poor blade adjustability is major drawback.
at any rate i got it dialed in now i expect it to cut much flatter
