For context, I just installed Fedora Workstation and I am dual-booting alongside Windows.
For some strange reason, download speeds are hovering around 200 KB/s, and sometimes randomly dropping to below 70KB/s. This occurs when I boot into either Windows or Fedora. Before installing Fedora, my speeds were usually >50MB/s, sometimes a couple hundred MB/s if the network isn’t very busy. This might be an issue with network drivers being weird since I’m dual booting, or maybe I need to manually install drivers for Fedora.
(for comparison my phone, using the same network, has >100MB/s download speeds)
EDIT: I’ve updated to Fedora 42 and network speeds are now in the MB/s again. Not sure what happened. Now it seems that when I install from “flatpak-1” rather than just “flatpak” speeds are great. Also, dnf install has good speeds now.

The vigil coincided with the weekly anti-government protests, and as thousands made their way to the scheduled rallies at Hostages Square and Begin Bridge, they passed by the quiet display.
Some people stopped and got closer — only then realizing that the images were of Palestinian children. Others already recognized the display from previous weeks. A few protesters set aside their Israeli flags and joined the vigil, which did not include slogans or signs. Two women stopped in front of the demonstrators, teared up and embraced.
At first glance, the silent display of photos — a simple act to make space to mourn Gazan children — would seem unremarkable. But in light of the Israeli public’s general indifference to the destruction of Gaza, these vigils, which have been held since March 22, have managed to begin to crack the wall of apathy.

Les forêts qui ceignent aujourd’hui #Jérusalem brûlent. Le vent porte l’odeur du pin calciné, et avec elle monte, dans les hauteurs d’un printemps déjà étouffant, le parfum âcre d’une vérité refoulée. Ces incendies, que l’on dira naturels ou accidentels, réveillent pourtant une mémoire enfouie, carbonisée sous les cendres de l’Histoire.
Car ces forêts ne sont pas anciennes. Elles ne sont pas nées du sol, mais imposées à lui. Elles sont le fruit d’un projet politique, d’un acte de recouvrement : celui d’un monde détruit. Sous les pins qui flambent gisent les ruines de centaines de villages palestiniens rasés en 1948, au lendemain de l’expulsion de plus de 750 000 hommes, femmes et enfants. Cette #colonisation n’a pas seulement vidé la terre de ses habitants ; elle a tenté d’en reconfigurer le visage.
Dès sa proclamation, l’État israélien s’appropria plus de 250 000 acres de terres, déclarées « abandonnées » par ceux-là mêmes qui avaient expulsé leurs propriétaires. Peu après, ce chiffre grimpa à 600 000 acres, transférés en grande partie au Jewish National Fund ( #JNF) — non pour restituer la terre, mais pour la redessiner, la replanter, la renommer.
Créé en #1901, le JNF, bien qu’enregistré comme organisation caritative dans plusieurs pays occidentaux, fut le bras foncier du projet sioniste. À travers les fameuses boîtes bleues distribuées dans les synagogues et foyers de la diaspora, il collectait les dons nécessaires pour l’achat de terres, leur clôture, leur réinvention. Ces boîtes, devenues objets quasi liturgiques, sont encore évoquées avec émotion dans les discours des figures politiques américaines : #Kamala Harris, lors de sa campagne, les rappela avec fierté devant le parterre conquis de l’ #AIPAC — comme si la mémoire d’une collecte justifiait l’effacement d’un peuple.
Moins de 4 % de la #Palestine historique avaient été acquis légalement avant la Nakba. Ce fut par la #dépossession massive, ensuite, que le JNF s’enrichit. Le vert devint une arme. Le slogan disait : « redonner vie au désert ». Mais la terre n’était pas vide ; elle avait été vidée. Le reboisement camouflait les ruines, effaçait les traces, transformait les décombres en parcs. L’American Independence Park, élevé sur sept villages rayés de la carte, en est le symbole. L’arbre choisi — le pin européen — trahissait l’intention : non pas s’enraciner dans la Palestine, mais l’européaniser. Substituer au Levant millénaire une carte postale venue du nord.
Ce paysage artificiel, ce greenwashing avant l’heure, fut une opération d’esthétique politique, un camouflage par le vivant. Planter des arbres pour étouffer les voix. Offrir des « poumons verts » à une terre dont on avait arraché le cœur. Derrière les campagnes de dons, les réclames aux visages célèbres — #Sinatra, #Taylor, #Harris — se dissimulait une dépossession patiente, méthodique, obstinée. Aujourd’hui, le feu remonte à la surface ce que les arbres avaient cru dissimuler. Les pins brûlent mal, mais ils brûlent. Et ce qui se consume n’est pas seulement un paysage, mais le masque d’une histoire. Une #histoire de substitutions, de silences imposés, de mémoire défigurée.
Derrière chaque parc, chaque forêt, chaque sentier tracé à travers ces collines fumantes, il y a une absence. Une promesse non tenue. Une injustice en cours. Les flammes qui entourent Jérusalem rappellent — peut-être malgré elles — qu’on ne déracine pas impunément un peuple. Et que la terre, tôt ou tard, finit par parler.

As fires rage, Israel has declared a national emergency. And it has requested assistance from other countries as it attempts to extinguish the rapidly spreading blazes. In fact, the Jerusalem District Fire Department Commander, Shmulik Friedman, said this was “perhaps the largest fire ever in the country.” Several neighbourhoods have been evacuated around Jerusalem. And the main highway was shutdown while many people abandoned their vehicles and fled on foot. Unsurprisingly, notorious war criminal, Itamar Ben Gvir, is blaming Palestinian Israelis for setting them. Even if this is true, these wildfires would never have taken off with this speed and ferocity unless there was something else going on. Years ago, I read how the Jewish National Fund planted trees over the ruins of Palestinian villages following the Nakba. Villages that had been violently emptied of their inhabitants by Zionist militias. It was a project that aimed to obscure the ethnic cleansing of Palestine as well as prevent any chance of return for refugees, a right under international law. But the JNF did not plant indigenous trees. They planted trees they thought would look more European, severely impacting native biodiversity and increasing the risk of wildfires in an ever warming climate. And this underscores the ultimate failure of any colonial settler project. You cannot claim indigeneity and then attempt to expunge any trace of indigenous life from the land without grave consequences. As fires consume parts of Israel, it continues to reign death down on Gaza. Tens of thousands of civilians, including thousands of children, have been buried under rubble, blown apart and burned to death. Millions face starvation imposed by Israel. Gaza has been turned into a graveyard. So, it may be difficult to muster up any sympathy for the perpetrator as it battles these wildfires. One could only hope that more Israelis would make the connection. That they would see and understand the consequences of decades of ethnic cleansing, apartheid and now genocide. Ich finde die erste Variante am besten, zumindest wenn sie groß genug ist, dass das FSM lesbar bleibt. Wenn das nicht passt, würde ich die Zeichnung aus dem Schriftzug nehmen und irgendwo daneben/darunter stellen. Dann passt der Schriftzug besser zum "klassischen", und ein FSM reicht darin. ("F+S+M"+noch ein gezeichnetes?) Und ich würde in Gedenken des "guten" alten BTX, das ja auch im CCC-Logo weiterlebt, Stern und Raute tauschen (*FSM#).
