Linux mint PS4-PS5 controllers

Random sleepy ramble.

Hey I'm new to Linux and mint seems like the easiest to switch over to coming from windows. I have had trouble with pairing Bluetooth PS4 controllers and emulating them as xinput. I used ds4drv but that's a little outdated now. Also I noticed that catchyos just works after pairing it on my other PC. So I spent a while trying to get mint to work without the need of ds4drv, it kept pairing as a wireless controller that wasn't detected as an actual controller through steam or anything else.... I tracked that down to an issue with the Bluetooth manager and maybe missing udev rules so now I can connect using a different manager and it comes up as a PS4 controller....but now I think I need ds4drv to emulate it as xinput so I've came full circle.

My question is do I need ds4drv to be using a Sony controller as xinput and also how does catchyos do it without ds4drv? And should I just screw Linux mint and switch to Catchyos?

I thought the drivers were already merged into the kernel as hid-sony or hid-playstation?

Have you tried removing ds4drv and just trying to connect the pad via USB? If that works, you can try pairing via Bluetooth.

It could be your Mint kernel is old and doesn’t have the drivers. I’m on Arch so I’ve had no issues and the pads just work and Steam handles them with no issues.

Also ich meine Vernichtungswillen gegenüber dem palästinensischem Volk. Gegenüber der Hamas ist der Wille klar erkennbar.

Die Angriffe, die ich bisher sah, richteten sich gegen Kommandoposten, Stellungen etc. der Hamas. Betroffen ist hier leider auch zivile Infrastruktur. Aber aus obigem Grund scheint das nach Kriegsrecht OK (Das ist das trotzdem Sch… finde, muss ich hoffentlich nicht dazu sagen.)

Die COGAT lieferte Tausende Tonnen an Hilfsgütern. Seit Beginn des Krieges sind das 1,8 Mio. Tonnen auf knapp 100.000 LKW. Wenn man den Berechnungen glauben darf, entspricht das so um die 3.000 kcal Nährwert pro Person.

Insofern ist mein bisheriges Bild, dass die IDF versucht, nur gegen Hamas vorzugehen und die Bevölkerung zu schonen.
Dazu gibt es Ausnahmen, die Kriegsverbrechen sind. Aber ich finde das nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Völkermorden, die passierten.

Man könnte die Hilfsorganisationen einfach ihre Arbeit machen lassen und Menschen in #Gaza Nahrung zukommen lassen. Überall.

Die Regierung #Israel's will aber unbedingt, dass Nahrung als Werkzeug des Militärs zur Kontrolle der Bevölkerung genutzt wird und nur einen Teil der Menschen Nahrung geben - und dabei sollen Hilfsorganisationen helfen.

Die Hilfsorganisationen wollen & dürfen nicht.

Also lässt Israel die Menschen einfach weiter verhungern bis irgendwer mitmacht.

How to see if your GPU is being used by games or a process in linux?
Title, I am unsure if games are using my GPU or if using my CPU, or maybe my GPU through my CPU, I do not know, something is using my GPU, but I think its just KDE plasma, and I would like to know definitively how to find out

My new normal?
Bed around 9pm-10pm.
Asleep around 9:15pm - 10:15pm.
Awake around 2am.
Last night I drank some bed time tea infused with melatonin. Took about 45 minutes for the effects to really kick in.
Sleep tracker showed I had about 48% of my sleep was "deep sleep" which is the highest it's been in a long time.
But I'm wide awake at 2AM in the morning.
Fuck.
And if this morning is anything like this past week or so I'll probably go back to sleep around 8-9am this morning where I'll sleep for another 3 hours.

yeah - your pattern def. sounds like something different. I hope you manage to figure it out - i had some bouts with sleep issues a long time ago, and took meds for a while, but mine was mostly anxiety driven when I was in college/early career, and it improved on its own as I got older and settled in.

I am wondering if it's not anxiety related because definitely the older I'm getting the more anxiety I'm developing. Didn't used to be claustrophobic and now I'm getting so worse. Used to not be afraid of heights (just falling) and now I can't even get 3 or 4 rungs up a ladder without freaking out. Problem is I have no idea how to get any of that tested or diagnosed.

Israël a entamé la dernière étape de son génocide. Les Palestiniens seront contraints de choisir entre la mort ou la déportation. Ils n'ont pas d'autre choix.

C'est le dernier chapitre du génocide. La dernière tentative macabre pour chasser les Palestiniens de Gaza. Pas de quoi manger. Pas de médicaments. Pas d'abris. Pas d'eau potable. Pas d'électricité. Israël est en train de transformer Gaza en un enfer dantesque où des centaines de Palestiniens sont tués chaque jour et bientôt par milliers et par dizaines de milliers, ou se feront chasser pour ne jamais revenir.

Le dernier chapitre marque la fin des mensonges israéliens. Le mensonge de la solution à deux États. Le mensonge selon lequel Israël respecterait les lois de la guerre qui protègent les civils. Le mensonge selon lequel Israël ne bombarderait les hôpitaux et les écoles que parce qu'ils sont utilisés comme bases par le Hamas. Le mensonge selon lequel le Hamas utiliserait les civils comme boucliers humains, alors qu'Israël oblige régulièrement des Palestiniens captifs à pénétrer dans des tunnels et des bâtiments potentiellement piégés avant les troupes israéliennes. Le mensonge selon lequel le Hamas ou le Jihad islamique palestinien (JIP) seraient responsables – ces accusations erronées – de la destruction d'hôpitaux, de bâtiments des Nations Unies ou des nombreuses victimes palestiniennes. Le mensonge selon lequel l'aide humanitaire à Gaza serait bloquée parce que le Hamas détourne les camions ou fait passer en contrebande des armes et du matériel de guerre. Le mensonge selon lequel des bébés israéliens auraient été décapités ou des Palestiniennes auraient commis des violences sexuelles à grande échelle sur des femmes israéliennes. Le mensonge selon lequel 75 % des dizaines de milliers de personnes tuées à Gaza seraient des “terroristes” du Hamas. Le mensonge selon lequel le Hamas, prétendument en train de se réarmer et de recruter de nouveaux combattants, serait responsable du non-respect de l'accord de cessez-le-feu.

Le visage génocidaire d'Israël est exposé au grand jour. Il a ordonné l'évacuation du nord de Gaza, où des Palestiniens désespérés campent sur les décombres de leurs maisons. Et maintenant, place à la grande famine généralisée : l'Office de secours et de travaux des Nations unies pour les réfugiés de Palestine dans le Proche-Orient (UNRWA) a déclaré le 21 mars qu’il ne dispose de réserves de farine que pour six jours, sans parler des morts dues aux maladies causées par la contamination de l'eau et de la nourriture, des dizaines de morts et de blessés chaque jour sous les bombardements incessants, les missiles, les obus et les balles. Tout est paralysé : les boulangeries, les usines de traitement des eaux et des eaux usées, les hôpitaux (Israël a fait sauter l'hôpital turco-palestinien déjà endommagé le 21 mars), les écoles, les centres de distribution de l'aide humanitaire et les cliniques. Plus de la moitié des 53 véhicules d'urgence de la Société du Croissant-Rouge palestinien sont en panne par pénurie de carburant. Bientôt, on ne pourra plus les utiliser.

Le message d'Israël est sans équivoque : Gaza sera inhabitable. Partez, ou mourez.

Depuis mardi, date à laquelle Israël a violé le cessez-le-feu en bombardant la bande de Gaza, plus de 700 Palestiniens ont été tués, dont 200 enfants. En 24 heures, 400 Palestiniens ont été tués. Et ce n'est que le début. Aucune des puissances occidentales, y compris les États-Unis, qui fournissent les armes du génocide, n'ont l'intention d'y mettre fin. Les images de Gaza pendant les près de seize mois d'attaques incessantes sont abominables. Mais ce qui s'annonce maintenant est pire. On va assister à des crimes de guerre aussi atroces que ceux commis par les nazis au XXe siècle, notamment la famine de masse, le massacre de masse et la destruction du ghetto de Varsovie en 1943.

Le 7 octobre a marqué une rupture entre la politique israélienne d'oppression et d'asservissement des Palestiniens, et une politique prônant leur extermination et leur expulsion de la Palestine historique. Nous assistons actuellement à un événement comparable au massacre de quelque 200 soldats par George Armstrong Custer lors de la bataille de Little Bighorn en juin 1876. Suite à cette défaite humiliante, les Amérindiens ont été condamnés à mourir et les survivants envoyés dans des camps de prisonniers de guerre, plus tard appelés réserves, où des milliers d'entre eux sont morts de maladie, ont vécu à la merci de leurs oppresseurs armés et ont sombré dans la misère et le désespoir. Il en ira de même pour les Palestiniens de Gaza, abandonnés, je le crains, dans l'un des pires endroits du monde, et oubliés.

“Habitants de Gaza, ceci est mon dernier avertissement”, a menacé le ministre israélien de la Défense, Israel Katz :

“Le premier Sinwar a détruit Gaza et le second Sinwar l'anéantira totalement. Les frappes de l'armée de l'air contre les terroristes du Hamas ne sont qu'un début. Les choses vont se compliquer et vous en paierez le prix fort. L'évacuation de la population des zones de combat va bientôt reprendre. Rendez les otages et débarrassez-vous du Hamas, et de nouvelles options vous seront offertes, y compris la possibilité de partir pour d'autres régions du monde pour ceux qui le souhaitent. L'alternative est la destruction totale”.

L'accord de cessez-le-feu entre Israël et le Hamas devait être mis en œuvre en trois phases. La première phase, d'une durée de 42 jours, devait mettre fin aux hostilités. Le Hamas devait libérer les 33 otages israéliens capturés le 7 octobre 2023, y compris les femmes, les personnes âgées de plus de 50 ans et les personnes malades, en échange de plus de 2 000 hommes, femmes et enfants palestiniens emprisonnés par Israël (environ 1 900 prisonniers palestiniens ont été libérés par Israël au 18 mars). Le Hamas a libéré 147 otages au total, dont huit étaient morts. Israël affirme que le Hamas détient toujours 59 Israéliens, dont 35 sont présumés morts.

L'armée israélienne devait se retirer des zones peuplées de Gaza le premier jour du cessez-le-feu. Le septième jour, les Palestiniens déplacés seraient autorisés à retourner dans le nord de Gaza. Israël autoriserait l'entrée quotidienne à Gaza de 600 camions d'aide humanitaire transportant des vivres et des fournitures médicales.

La deuxième phase, qui devait se négocier le seizième jour du cessez-le-feu, verrait la libération des derniers otages israéliens. Israël achèverait son retrait de Gaza en maintenant une présence dans certaines parties du couloir de Philadelphi, qui s'étend le long des 13 kilomètres de frontière entre Gaza et l'Égypte. Il renoncerait à son contrôle du poste frontière de Rafah avec l'Égypte.

La troisième phase serait consacrée aux négociations d'une sortie définitive de la guerre et à la reconstruction de Gaza.

Israël est coutumier des signatures d’accords, y compris les ceux de Camp David et les accords de paix d'Oslo, assortis de calendriers et de plans dr mise en oeuvre. Il obtient ce qu'il veut, dans ce cas la libération des otages, lors de la première phase, puis enfreint les phases suivantes. Ce schéma est récurrent.

Israël a refusé d'honorer la deuxième phase de l'accord. Il a bloqué l'aide humanitaire à Gaza il y a deux semaines, en violation de l'accord. Il a également tué au moins 137 Palestiniens pendant la première phase du cessez-le-feu, dont neuf, avec trois journalistes, lorsque des drones israéliens ont attaqué une équipe de secours le 15 mars à Beit Lahiya, dans le nord de Gaza

Les bombardements et les pilonnages intensifs d'Israël sur Gaza ont repris le 18 mars alors que la plupart des Palestiniens dormaient ou préparaient leur suhoor, le repas pris avant l'aube pendant le mois sacré du ramadan. Israël va poursuivre ses opérations, et ce même si les derniers otages sont libérés, prétexte invoqué par Israël pour justifier la reprise des bombardements et du blocus de Gaza.

La Maison Blanche de Trump encourage le massacre. Elle qualifie les détracteurs du génocide d'“antisémites” qu'il faut réduire au silence, condamner ou expulser, tout en fournissant des milliards de dollars d'armes à Israël.

L'attaque génocidaire d'Israël contre Gaza est l'inévitable dénouement de son projet colonial de peuplement et de son État d'apartheid. La conquête de toute la Palestine historique — avec, bientôt, l'annexion de la Cisjordanie par Israël— et le déplacement de tous les Palestiniens ont toujours été les objectifs sionistes.

Les pires exactions d'Israël se sont produites pendant les guerres de 1948 et 1967, lorsque d'immenses parties de la Palestine historique ont été saisies, des milliers de Palestiniens ont été tués et des centaines de milliers ont été victimes de nettoyage ethnique. Et entre ces guerres, la lente spoliation des terres, les attaques meurtrières et le nettoyage ethnique continu en Cisjordanie, y compris à Jérusalem-Est, se sont poursuivis.

Ce ballet bien réglé s’achève. C'est la fin. Ce à quoi nous assistons éclipse tous les assauts historiques contre les Palestiniens. Le rêve génocidaire dément d'Israël – un cauchemar pour les Palestiniens – est sur le point de devenir réalité. Il brisera à jamais le mythe selon lequel nous, ou toute nation occidentale, respecterions l'État de droit ou serions les protecteurs des droits de l'homme, de la démocratie et des soi-disant “valeurs” de la civilisation occidentale. La barbarie d'Israël est la nôtre. Nous ne le percevons peut-être pas, mais le reste du monde, si.
