Democrat WA state Governor Bob Ferguson has signed a radical "Student Rights" bill into law that reportedly strips parents of the ability to obtain their child's medical records, mental health records, records of discipline, or any student-specific file maintained by a school.

It also strips parents of the right to receive prior notification when medical services are offered to their child.

"Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fingered four potential causes of childhood chronic disease in a bombshell report released Thursday — the first step in the Trump administration’s bid to reverse what it calls a health “crisis” impacting 40% of America’s kids.

The report identified poor diet, environmental chemicals, lack of physical activity and chronic stress, and overmedicalization as likely responsible for persistent maladies — including obesity, autism, cancer, mental health issues and allergies — warning: “The health of American children is in crisis.”

The report also calls for further inquiry into the link between vaccines and chronic diseases — saying there has been “limited scientific inquiry” into the issue.

The research will be used to create police recommendations by August of 2025, which will be presented to President Trump.

“President Trump wants every child in America to grow up and to live a long and healthy life,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters of the “historic” assessment."

it's a shame to see it go, it's been the first read-it-later service that I was aware of and used. I've moved away to Omnivore (RIP) and then Wallabag (wallabag.it/ for 11€/year, but you can self-host it or find someone else to host it for you for a lower fee), but I've still been thinking fondly of it, despite Mozilla clearly trying to force people into social reading rather than just serve as a convenient offline storage of articles.

So a few hours ago, I quietly switched the Small Technology Foundation web site over from the Hugo-based static site running on Site.js to the new dynamic version I built using Kitten*:

small-tech.org

What I initially thought would be a weekend project turned into three months 😀 (During which, Kitten improved a huge amount thanks to issues that surfaced while porting the site and implementing a custom CMS for it.)

I’ve tried not to break any links and my focus was on porting existing content first. If you notice any glaring issues please ping me. In the coming days I’ll be updating stuff (with my lovely new admin panel) and writing more about the porting process.

Also, with this, our last site using Site.js has been ported to Kitten so I’ll be archiving Site.js this week.

@ryanprior I can update it from anywhere, including my phone. I can add a tag to a new video on our Vimeo and have it show up. The funding page was already dynamic so I don’t have two different workflows to manage. And, well, it means I’m eating my own dog food (as I was earlier with Site.js) so Kitten gets stronger for it 😀

Finally met with my assigned pulmonologist today!

My bronchiectasis is mild. My “ground glass opacities” are nodules and granulomas which look benign and are currently small enough to warrant only monitoring. Bloodwork indicates my symptoms are mostly from infections, not allergies, and I am slowly recovering from those infections.

She said I’m on the right track with nebulizing saline and nasal lavage, although “God gives us mucus for a reason” so I’m not to rinse my sinuses more than 3x per day, 2x per day preferred. I must continue masking in public and avoiding infections like the plague, which they are for me now. Both the Skyrizi (monoclonal antibody medication for treating Crohn's) and Crohn’s Disease itself make me extra vulnerable to infection, and yes, Crohn’s may be expressing itself in my lungs. Oh yeah also I'm old now, she reminded me.

It looks like I’m recovering from the worst of my infections, which I believe were RSV in March and adenovirus in April, plus something bacterial because I responded to antiobotics and anti bacterial eyedrops (pinkeye was but one of many symptoms). I need to accept infections may last a lot longer and be more severe than I thought normal.

After I take another month to recover, I will go back for lung capacity tests and an EKG to see how my heart’s doing. The pulmonologist guided me through my CT scans, pointing out granulomas, nodules, and bronchiectasis, and said several times how good my lungs looked. I still gots capacity!

Pix are of me killing time with the plastic lung model while waiting for the pulmonologist to arrive. I was with a friend who took these photos and also notes, for which I am very grateful.

  • Otto Kuusinen: As long as the working class wages only an economic struggle, the bourgeoisie does not see in that any great danger for itself; but when the working class organises politically, i.e., creates a political party which expresses its will as a class, the bourgeoisie begins seriously to fear for its rule. That is why reaction deals its main blows against the political party of the working class. At the same time, trying to undermine the party from within, capitalist propaganda endeavours to persuade the workers that they can do without their own party. One of the manifestations of bourgeois influence on the working class is the anarchist and anarcho-syndicalist denial of the leading role of a political party.

Understanding Moldavite and Crystal Energy

I. Discovering Authentic Crystal Sources Through Professional Singapore Crystal Supplier Networks

The fascinating world of crystal healing continues expanding as more individuals recognize the profound energetic potential within these natural formations. Working with a reputable Singapore crystal supplier ensures access to genuine specimens that maintain their full vibrational integrity. These geological marvels, created through Earth's natural processes spanning millions of years, contain stable energy patterns that harmoniously interact with human energy fields in measurable ways.

Professional crystal practitioners understand that each specimen carries distinct energetic signatures determined by its molecular structure and formation process. These unique characteristics create coherent energy patterns that influence human biofields predictably, forming the scientific foundation underlying crystal healing traditions worldwide. This knowledge guides experienced practitioners in selecting appropriate specimens for specific healing applications and environmental enhancement purposes.

Identifying Quality Indicators in Professional Crystal Selection

Understanding crystal authenticity requires examining multiple factors that experienced collectors and practitioners recognize immediately. Formation quality becomes apparent through visual inspection of crystal structure, surface characteristics, and internal clarity patterns that indicate natural versus synthetic origins. Energy coherence manifests through consistent vibrational frequencies that trained practitioners can detect through various assessment methods, including pendulum testing and direct energetic sensing techniques.

Color saturation and optical properties provide additional authentication markers that distinguish genuine specimens from artificial alternatives. Natural crystals display characteristic color variations and inclusions that synthetic versions cannot replicate accurately, making visual assessment a crucial skill for serious collectors and practitioners developing their expertise.

II. What Is Moldavite and Understanding Its Cosmic Origins?

When exploring rare crystal varieties, many collectors ask, "What is moldavite?" and seek to understand its extraordinary properties. This remarkable green tektite represents one of nature's most unusual formations, created during a meteorite impact approximately 15 million years ago in what is now the Czech Republic. The intense heat and pressure from this cosmic collision transformed terrestrial materials into these distinctive green glass formations that carry both earthly and celestial energies.

Understanding Moldavite and Crystal Energy

Understanding where moldavite comes from helps the collector of crystals wholsaler in Singapore, appreciate its rarity and transformational properties. The meteorite impact created a limited quantity of this material, making authentic specimens increasingly valuable. Many people search for "moldivite" or "moldovite" variations of the name, but the correct term, "moldavite," refers specifically to these Czech tektites formed during this singular cosmic event.

Recognizing Authentic Moldavite Characteristics and Formation Markers

The moldavite meaning encompasses profound transformation and spiritual acceleration, with practitioners describing intense energy experiences when first handling authentic specimens. This moldavite stone carries vibrational frequencies that facilitate expanded consciousness and deep healing work, making it highly sought after by serious crystal enthusiasts and energy workers worldwide.

Authentic moldavite crystals display distinctive surface sculpting created by natural etching processes during formation and subsequent weathering. The characteristic green coloration varies significantly between specimens, ranging from pale translucent hues to deep forest tones, with each piece exhibiting unique patterns and clarity variations that serve as natural authentication markers.

III. Integrating Crystal Energy Through Professional Stone Supplier Singapore Partnerships

Creating effective crystal collections requires guidance from a knowledgeable stone supplier in Singapore who understands quality indicators across various mineral types. These specialists evaluate specimens based on formation quality, energy coherence, and color clarity, determining how effectively each crystal will function in specific applications and which energy centers they most strongly influence.

Moldavite crystals deserve special attention within any serious collection due to their unique formation and powerful energetic properties. Professional suppliers provide detailed documentation about specimen origins, formation characteristics, and energetic properties that help collectors make informed decisions about their investments and collection development strategies.

1. Strategic Placement Methods for Environmental Crystal Enhancement

Incorporating crystals into contemporary lifestyles creates sustained energetic support without requiring elaborate rituals or extensive time commitments. Strategic placement throughout living and working spaces allows specific energies to support various intentions naturally. Prosperity stones enhance financial areas, protective crystals secure entrances, and calming specimens create peaceful relaxation zones that support specific activities and intentions.

Crystal grids represent advanced placement techniques that amplify energetic properties through geometric arrangements, enhancing their collective influence. These configurations address specific intentions like abundance attraction, relationship harmony, or creative inspiration, creating focused energy fields that support particular life aspects through sustained energetic influence.

2. Personal Energy Enhancement Through Crystal Integration Practices

Personal energy enhancement through crystal jewelry provides continuous energetic contact during daily activities, allowing practitioners to maintain consistent crystal energy throughout busy schedules. Direct skin contact enhances energetic transmission, making jewelry among the most effective methods for sustaining crystal energy support without lifestyle modifications or additional time investments.

The connection between humans and crystals represents humanity's oldest healing traditions, spanning diverse cultures across millennia. As contemporary stress levels increase, many rediscover value in these ancient practices, creating personal collections that support mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual growth within our modern world's demands and challenges.

Otto von Bismarck: Many measures which we have adopted to the great blessing of the country are Socialistic, and the State will have to accustom itself to a little more Socialism yet. ... I am glad that this Socialism was adopted, for we have as a consequence secured a free and very well-to-do peasantry, and I hope that we shall in time do something of the sort for the labouring classes. ... The establishment of the freedom of the peasantry was Socialistic; Socialistic, too, is every expropriation in favour of railways; Socialistic to the utmost extent is the aggregation of estates—the law exists in many provinces—taking from one and giving to another, simply because this other can cultivate the land more conveniently; Socialistic is expropriation under the Water Legislation, on account of irrigation, etc., where a man's land is taken away from him because another can farm it better; Socialistic is our entire poor relief, compulsory school attendance, compulsory construction of roads, so that I am bound to maintain a road upon my lands for travellers. That is all Socialistic, and I could extend the register further; but if you believe that you can frighten any one or call up spectres with the word “Socialism,” you take a standpoint which I abandoned long ago, and the abandonment of which is absolutely necessary for our entire imperial legislation. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

I did not realise SliTaz is still going so strong. It's an old fave from my early days with Linux. I tried #SliTaz briefly again a few days ago, and just now seen it mentioned in opensource.com/article/19/6/li… "5 tiny Linux distros to try before you die" while I was looking for a NuTyX tarball... and besides being pleasantly surprised by SliTaz now being rolling:

SliTaz 5.0 Rolling release (weekly) - 06 Apr 2025
SliTaz is now a rolling distro with 2 branches We provide a stable version and a cooking (development) version. Stable will get small refinements and security updates. As usual the Cooking version brings you the latest improvements made by SliTaz developers. - 16 March 2018
Website news archives - 2007-2025

I also saw in that article, one (among many a) feature that contribute to the explanation of why it's still going so strong:

The good news is that the tazpkg command can convert from several packaging formats, including:

Debian packages (.deb, .udeb)
RPM packages (.rpm)
Slackware packages (.tgz)
Puppy packages (.sfs, .pet)
NuTyX packages (.cards.tar.xz)
Arch and Alpine Linux packages (.apk, .pkg.tar.gz, .pkg.tar.xz)
OpenWrt packages (.ipk, .opk)
Paldo packages (.tar.bz2)
Void packages (.xbps)
Tiny Core packages (.tce, .tcel, .tcem, .tcz)

SliTaz is a #lovely piece of kit. Really glad it's going so strong.

arm.slitaz.org/rpi/ <- they have rpi arm too btw.
mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/… <- and 32bit ! 😮 😀 good distro for #Ancientware #OldComputers 😀
mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/… <- and a 64bit of course.

#distro #distros #tinydistros #foss #packageconversion #packagemanager #tazpkg #taz

PS, I remember there's also #tazlito ... like I mentioned... many a feature to keep SliTaz in, and ahead, of the game. It's so tiny, so fast, so clean. Always a joy, in my experience. But then... I've never driven SliTaz as daily-driver. ... But I am honestly considering it for a #DistroChallenge since reading that article, even before I started typing this post, so enthused as I am for SliTaz. ... For context, I'm already over a dozen years deep into bedrocklinux, where I have all the comforts of all my favourite features from each and any of the main distros I install (typically Gentoo, Devuan, Void and Artix, my solid 4 strata regulars, at least)... And SliTaz turns my head. Not just to add it as a strata (as I'm seeking how I'll best want to get #NuTyX imported), but as itself. Raw riding the metal, not hijacked, not a vm, not a container, not even just as a usb, but on the mmcblk0p1. Okies... Ima stahp this ramble... got the gush for SliTaz.

Anyways, just sayin, you don't have to pick just one distro. ;)

... But also, you can. ... And I'm tempted... Distro-Challenge... 2 years living daily-driving SliTaz...

  • Democritus: Many who have not learned wisdom live wisely, and many who do the basest deeds can make most learned speeches.
  • Democritus: Fools learn wisdom through misfortune.
  • Democritus: Strength of body is nobility in beasts of burden, strength of character is nobility in men.
  • Democritus: Neither art nor wisdom may be attained without learning.
  • Democritus: It is better to correct your own faults than those of another.
  • Democritus: Good means not (merely) not to do wrong, but rather not to desire to do wrong.
  • Democritus: Fame and wealth without wisdom are unsafe possessions.
  • Muammar Gaddafi: We will not surrender. We will defeat them by any means. We are ready for the fight, whether it will be a short or a long one. We will be victorious in the end. This assault is by a bunch of fascists who will end up in the dustbin of history.
  • Democritus: By convention sweet is sweet, bitter is bitter, hot is hot, cold is cold, color is color; but in truth there are only atoms and the void.
  • Democritus: We know nothing accurately in reality, but (only) as it changes according to the bodily condition, and the constitution of those things that flow upon (the body) and impinge upon it.
  • Democritus: Medicine heals diseases of the body, wisdom frees the soul from passions.
  • Democritus: Immoderate desire is the mark of a child, not a man.
  • Democritus: Men have fashioned an image of Chance as an excuse for their own stupidity.
  • Democritus: In a shared fish, there are no bones.
  • Democritus: Education is an ornament for the prosperous, a refuge for the unfortunate.
  • Democritus: The animal needing something knows how much it needs, the man does not.
  • Democritus: Moderation multiplies pleasures, and increases pleasure.
  • Democritus: If your desires are not great, a little will seem much to you; for small appetite makes poverty equivalent to wealth.
  • Democritus: No power and no treasure can outweigh the extension of our knowledge.
  • Democritus: In fact we do not know anything infallibly, but only that which changes according to the condition of our body and of the (influences) that reach and impinge upon it.
  • Democritus: Of practical wisdom these are the three fruits: to deliberate well, to speak to the point, to do what is right.
  • Democritus: 'Tis not in strength of body nor in gold that men find happiness, but in uprightness and in fulness of understanding.
  • Democritus: He who does wrong is more unhappy than he who suffers wrong.
  • Samuel P. Huntington: The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion (to which few members of other civilizations were converted) but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.
  • Marjori Palmer: One of the most morale-damaging aspects of the inflation was the "sack of Germany" that occurred at the height of the (1923) inflation. Anyone who possessed dollars or sterling was king in Germany. A few American dollars would allow a man to live like a millionaire. Foreigners swarmed into the country, buying up family treasures, estates, jewelry and art works at unbelievable low prices.
  • Lionel Robbins: It was the most colossal thing of its kind in history: and next probably to the Great War itself, it must bear responsibility for many of the political and economic difficulties of our generation. It destroyed the wealth of the more solid elements of German society: and left behind a moral and economic disequilibrium, a breeding ground for the disasters which have followed. Hitler is the foster child of the inflation.
  • Lenin: There is no trace of utopianism in Marx, in the sense that he made up or invented a 'new' society. No, he studied the birth of the new society out of the old, and the forms of transition from the latter to the former, as a natural-historical process. He examined the actual experience of a proletarian mass movement and tried to draw practical lessons from it.
  • Che Guevara: Many will call me an adventurer - and that I am, only one of a different sort: one of those who risks his skin to prove his platitudes.
  • Democritus: The first principles of the universe are atoms and empty space; everything else is merely thought to exist.
  • Bertolt Brecht: Lenin is enshrined In the large heart of the working class.
