I wanted to buy the last issue as Memorabilia, but their site is quite confusing.

When you try to buy it, the May 2025 issue on MagazinesDirect (where they point you to) shows the issue from two months earlier, (Make Linux Mobile) as the May 2025 issue, which I find confusing. If I buy, which one would I get?

Would I get "25 Years of Linux" or "Make Linux Mobile"?

My guess is that the paper editions get published late with a delay.

Edit: The June edition (published 29th April) has now appeared, so I guess that around the end of June, or beginning of July, the last issue will appear.

The army says it has deployed five divisions to Gaza, but in practice only three are engaged in offensive operations. They have yet to finish organizing and arranging troops and the scale of reservists taking part in the operation remains low. (The Knesset this week officially approved the lawful issuing of hundreds of thousands more emergency call-up orders if needed.) At the height of the hostilities, in November 2023, more than twice as many brigade combat teams fought in Gaza. Officers serving in the Strip told Haaretz that forces are currently focused on engineering, and is being described as creating a defensive space: the systematic destruction of houses and infrastructure, with the underlying professional rationale being to protect the soldiers. In reality, it's difficult not to suspect that a different motivation is at work here. This is a campaign of destruction and revenge, aimed largely at exacting a price from Gaza's population. And at least some of those involved are making no secret of their objective: to completely prevent the return of the inhabitants to their homes and to prepare the ground for a massive population expulsion from Gaza.
The Trump administration's lifted restrictions on the export of bulldozers to Israel appear to have solved the troops' shortage of engineering machinery for use in Gaza. Each division has a team of three bulldozers of different types, which leads the activity and aims to cause maximum destruction. Many of the machines' operators are civilians, who receive a high salary for each day of work, as has already been reported. Among them are also right-wing extremist activists from Samaria. There are almost no habitable homes left in the areas in which the IDF is operating. About two months ago, Zamir fired Southern Command's planning team head, Brig. Gen. (res.) Erez Winner, after he lost classified documents. But Winner's spirit continues hovering above the team he left behind. Its dominant conceptual approach is that of Finance Minister Smotrich and his ilk, right under the nose of the chief of staff. Over the course of the war, various right-wing organizations have acquired considerable influence over IDF perspectives by placing practical plans and ideas in front of the political decision-makers and the General Staff.
In the last months of 2024, before the Trump-imposed cease-fire in January of this year, the army operated largely to implement the "reserve generals' plan," which sought to empty the northern Strip of its inhabitants and stop the entry of humanitarian aid. This plan moved forward despite public opposition to the ideas that were voiced by the defense minister at the time, Yoav Gallant, and by former chief of staff Herzl Halevi. High-ranking officers in the reserves were involved in these developments, along with right-wing organizations including Israel's Defense and Security Forum (Habit'honistim), the Forum of Commanders and Fighters in the Reserves and the Kohelet Policy Forum. When things didn't progress as they wished, the right attacked the usual suspects – the Military Advocate General's unit and the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories – but the real reason for the slowdown was that Trump reined in Netanyahu.

Es ist also auch eine komplette Fehleinschätzung so zu tun, als wäre nur Netanyahu das Problem.

Wenn wir irgendwelche Äußerungen Netanyahus in den deutschen Medien hören, dann sind das - so übel sie auch klingen mögen - das was ihm diplomatisch vertretbar erscheint, bei dem schon der Druck der US-Regierung und anderer Regierungen mit eingepreist ist.
Echtes Handeln in Gaza, der Westbank wird bestimmt und umgesetzt von Extremisten die noch viel weiter rechts sind als Netanyahus Äußerungen.

Deren Ziele sind auch nichts was irgendwie in einer Form unklar wäre: Komplette Vertreibung aller Palästinenser, oder eine Existenz ohne jede Menschenrechte, ohne jede Selbstbestimmung, ohne jede Bewegungsfreiheit.

Und diese Variante ist noch die freundlichere Variante der Extremisten in Israel. Wenn man der kürzlich in Haaretz veröffentlichten Umfrage glauben mag, dann ist ein beträchtlicher Teil der israelischen Gesellschaft noch deutlich extremer eingestellt.

Earlier this week, it was discovered that the Chicago Sun-Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer had both published an externally-produced "special supplement" that contained facts, experts, and book titles entirely made up by an AI chatbot [...]

The writer didn't care. The supplement's editors didn't care. The biz people on both sides of the sale of the supplement didn't care. The production people didn't care. And, the fact that it took two days for anyone to discover this epic fuckup in print means that, ultimately, the reader didn't care either.

It's so emblematic of the moment we're in, the Who Cares Era, where completely disposable things are shoddily produced for people to mostly ignore.

• Sneezing
• Cough
• Red, sore, watery eyes
Small white spots may appear inside the cheeks and on the back of the lips a few days later, followed by a rash that usually starts on the face or behind the ears before spreading to the rest of the body. The rash may appear brown or red on lighter skin and can be harder to detect on darker skin tones. Symptoms usually appear 10-12 days after exposure.
Helen Benson, NHSGGC Consultant in Public Health, said:
"While Scotland and Greater Glasgow and Clyde have strong MMR uptake through the childhood vaccination programme, we cannot be complacent. Govanhill is one of the areas where uptake is lower, and although case numbers are low, there is a risk of community spread, especially with increased overseas travel during the holiday season.
"Measles is preventable with two doses of the MMR vaccine. We are offering weekly drop-in clinics for both adults and children and would encourage anyone who has missed one or both doses, to come along. The vaccine is free, completely safe, and this is great opportunity to catch up with any doses you may have missed to protect yourself and your family. Interpreters are available, and we welcome anyone who needs extra support.
"If you're unsure at all, you're welcome to pop-in for a chat with our immunisation team who will happily answer any questions that you may have too."
