My bank invalidated my credit card because someone was trying to charge my card. So far so good, and I'm happy that I didn't lose money to a card fraud. But, ..., in Finland receiving a new card takes 10 to 14 days because they send it via snail mail without tracker. So what's the issue with that? Simple, I can't use ATM, buy food, buy bus ticket, use PayPal, or any online service that uses my credit card. Also, all my online payments are getting bounced (e.g., domain renewals, donations).

So I just called the bank and told them if there is a way I can get a virtual card with fix value so that I can pay my bills. They said no. I asked why you sent it via snail mail when you invalidated both my Debit and Credit card. The answer was "funny": that's how we do it.

This is by far the largest bank in #Finland and it never occurred to them that express mail exists!! Yeah, happiest county on earth for 7th year in a row! I'm very happy indeed if you can't tell. 😐

Just to clarify, I had to "fill" a feedback form over the phone along with the bank operator to suggest usage of express mail! The phone call took 42 minutes and 16 seconds. 20+ minutes waiting behind the queue, and the rest for two questions and filling feedback form! So efficient! Sometimes I wonder why I should spend so much time optimizing my code when banks who literally deal with money are generally extremely wasteful.

Those who follow me know that I’ve long argued that the •real• conflict here is not Israeli vs Palestinians, but rather people who want justice versus people who want genocide.

•That• conflict cuts across national boundaries. We should view the people who planned Hamas’s massacre of Oct 7 and the people who planned the Israeli state’s ongoing massacres in response as being on the •same• side of that larger conflict: these are groups who want the situation to escalate to a place where eradication of an entire people seems to be the only possibility. I am very interested in this group, who seem to be thinking along similar lines: Jewish Israeli citizens united with Palestinian Israeli citizens to call for — and put •boots on the ground• for — an end to atrocities.

Among other things, they’ve successfully chased fashy settlers who were attacking aid trucks to Gaza, allowing aid to flow in. Wow. (See “Humanitarian Guard” in the page below.)

If these horrors are to end, impetus must come from inside Israeli politics, from Israeli citizens. And here those citizens are. I’m sending a few bucks their way, as I’m able.

As people attempted to slowly advance to the aid site from the Al-Alam roundabout, more than a dozen witnesses interviewed by CNN described the IDF opening volleys of intense fire on the crowd starting as early as 3:30 a.m.

Robert Maher, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Montana State University, who specializes in forensic audio analysis, examined the footage for CNN and said that the bursts of gunfire were at a rate of 15 and 16 shots per second (or 900 and 960 per minute), fired from a distance of about a quarter of a mile (450 meters).

Trevor Ball, a former US Army senior explosive ordnance disposal team member, said the rate of fire was consistent with the FN MAG, a heavily-used machine gun in the Israeli military’s arsenal. The FN MAG is commonly equipped on the IDF’s Merkava tanks, which several eyewitnesses said they saw open fire on the crowds.

Doctors working at Nasser Hospital shared photos with CNN of the bullets retrieved from patients injured and killed in the attack, which weapons experts say appear to match the type of ammunition used in the Israeli military’s machine guns. “This bullet is consistent with the NATO standard 7.62mm M80, which would be fired by IDF 7.62x51mm weapons, including the Negev 7.62 and FN MAG,” Ball said of one of the images.

Także nie ma co demonizować tematu. Oczywiście każdy ma inne priorytety. Dla mnie wszystkie zalety Archa są warte poświęcenia uwagi nawet powiedzmy trzem interwencjom w roku.
