Why food-grade titanium dioxide is considered 100% safe

Food-grade titanium dioxide (E171) safe for use in food based on several key findings from its comprehensive safety reviews:

Extensive Review of Evidence: Reviews of both animal and human studies, as well as new scientific data, and found no evidence that dietary exposure to food-grade titanium dioxide poses a concern for human health.

Low Absorption: Studies show that after ingestion, absorption of food-grade titanium dioxide into the body is non-existent.

No Evidence of Harm in Animal Studies: Long-term animal studies, including lifetime feeding studies with very high concentrations of food-grade titanium dioxide, found no evidence of DNA damage, cancer, or other harmful effects such as toxicity to the reproductive, developmental, gastrointestinal, immune, or nervous systems.

NOTICE - Relevance of Study Materials: Studies raising safety concerns used forms of titanium dioxide not representative of the food-grade material (e.g., sonicated nanoparticles or materials dispersed in water rather than food), making their relevance to actual dietary exposure questionable.
