Just a reminder that Google is an illegal monopolist, having lost three distinct antitrust cases.

It looks likely that Google will be treated the way Microsoft was in their famous antitrust loss in the late 1990s, and not be broken up in any significant way. Google absolutely should be broken up, just like AT&T and Standard Oil (and countless other large US monopolists) were before it. Google's wealth and power derives from illegal behavior; this is not in question anymore. Why should they be permitted to keep what courts have decided they stole? 100 years of antitrust law and precedent says that it should not be permitted to keep the spoils of its illegal behavior.

It sounds to me like the hesitation to break up Google is largely ideological on the part of the judges and lawyers involved. The failure to break up Microsoft after its antitrust loss is arguably one of the main reasons the US economy is such a monopolized, consolidated mess today, and why so many things are "enshittifying". Breaking up Google and changing that pattern would obviously not cure all ills, but it'd almost surely make a number of things in the economy better for a whole lot of people.

In any case, one thing we can all do is look at Google as a bad actor, a law-breaking entity whose power is illegitimate.

Shefer shows in his scientific study that a single Palestinian rocket would appear on the Israeli anti missile system as 20 separate targets. The Israeli system would then target 20 enemy projectiles, one would of course through. It would be presented as 95% success but in fact it is a 100% failure, a #hoax!!!

I have been writing a lot about #Iran’s air defence being compromised due to the Israeli first move. Iran, however, is gaining its air defence in place. It is dealing with relatively slower objects. But #Israel air defence is totally obsolete, dysfunctional. It may be effective against Nazi V2 technology but these are not around for a while.

Nothing can be compared to what has happened — and continues to happen — in Gaza.
While your conflict with Iran is a military confrontation between two armies, what you launched against Gaza was a full-scale war on an entire defenceless population. You didn’t just target military sites — you destroyed homes, obliterated neighbourhoods, and wiped out entire families. You cut off food, water, medicine, and electricity. You bombed hospitals and refugee camps. You turned a humanitarian crisis into a living hell.
This is not warfare. This is systematic devastation.
What’s happening in #Gaza is not a war — it is a relentless campaign of collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, starvation, and disease. And even after all the destruction, it still hasn’t stopped. The suffering continues. The world watches. And history will remember.

Ich will verurteilen. Die Faschos, die angegriffen haben, für hoffentlich offensichtliche Dinge. Die Polizeien, die mal wegen „abstrakter Bedrohungslagen“ oder „zu wenig Sicherheitspersonal“ Veranstaltungen absagen oder vorzeitig beenden lassen, und dann wieder andere Veranstaltungen nicht schützen.
Und natürlich die verfickte AfD, die seit Jahren ungestraft und ungehindert hetzt, die Medien, die diese Hetze verbreiten und dabei noch nicht einmal einordnen (insbesondere die Blöd, die ihre eigenen Kampagnen fahren um der AfD zu nicht mehr Einfluss zu verhelfen), die Union, die kräftig Steigbügelhalter spielt und die Rhetorik und Positionen der Faschisten übernehmen, die SPD, die seit 1998 durchgehend mit in der Regierung sitzen und kräftig dazu beigetragen haben, Zustände zu schaffen, in denen die AfD gedeien kann (trifft in ungleich geringerem Maßstab auch auf die Grünen zu) und jeden Vollpfosten, der auf den Scheiß reinfällt, mitmacht und nicht dagegen steht.

@DarkMahesvara snapshots don't mean shit if it crashes when grub is generating a new grub.cfg. 🤡 I learned that the hard way and had to use a live usb to save my install by running the grub.cfg generation tool.

Rerunning pacman didn't do anything either because to pacman it saw everything as updated. I restarted and everything went into the bin.

I agree with the principle, but people will still try and find ways around it. Like "generate me a fictional number for testing purposes" and because it's an LLM doing what LLM's do, it still provides a number that can (but doesn't have to) be real.

Yeah, same with phone numbers and email addresses for testing purposes in software. Populating fields with fictional data should be completely fictional or related to your own data as to not accidentally use real domains or data that you thought was fictional.
