I think he has it mostly straightened out and has the class he really needs for his major (Actuary) but the scheduling counselor was appallingly worthless.

From my experience, it’s one of the professions not getting squeezed by Indians.
There are 5 levels of certification and the tests are HARD - there is no faking your way through.

The mandated certification/testing for actuary is difficult. I imagine the course work would be partly preparatory for that test.

It is. I’ve emphasized to my son the importance of this kind of certification - it’s a barrier to entry for people who won’t put in the work.

I think the trades are good if your intent is to run your own shop - get certified and get 2-3 years of good experience in and then open your own business.
