President Trump’s decision to strike Iran’s three most significant nuclear sites on Saturday helped rid the world of a grave nuclear threat and was a large step toward restoring U.S. deterrence. It also creates an opportunity for a more peaceful Middle East, if the nations of the region will seize it.
Mr. Trump gave Iran every chance to resolve this peacefully. The regime flouted his 60-day deadline to make a deal. Then Israel attacked, destroying much of the nuclear program and achieving air supremacy, and still the President gave Iran another chance to come to terms. The regime wouldn’t even abandon domestic uranium enrichment. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wanted a bomb more than peace.
Military conflict is often unpredictable and the potential for Iranian retaliation can’t be dismissed, no matter how self-destructive it would be. Iran and its Iraqi proxies have threatened U.S. regional bases with missile fire, but Mr. Trump warned that “future attacks will be far greater” if Iran goes down that road. The U.S. has evacuated some personnel and brought military assets into the region. If the regime values self-preservation, it will give up its nuclear ambitions and stand down.
The opportunity to act and the danger of standing pat may have proved decisive. We would say that they left Mr. Trump little choice, except U.S. Presidents always have a choice, and have been known to kick the can down the road. To his credit,

Die Angriffe auf Palästinenser, die nach Essen suchen, haben in der letzten Woche stark zugenommen, wobei täglich Dutzende Menschen erschossen und beschossen werden. Die Zahl der Todesopfer allein in den letzten Tagen ist schockierend: Mindestens 38 Menschen wurden am Montag getötet, 59 am Dienstag, 22 am Donnerstag und 35 am Freitag. Seit Ende Mai wurden über 400 Menschen getötet und mehr als 3.000 verletzt, in dem, was das Gesundheitsministerium in Gaza als „Hilfsgütermassaker“ bezeichnet – ein neuer Begriff, der in das Vokabular des Völkermords in Gaza aufgenommen wurde.

Mai richtete die Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, eine von den USA und Israel unterstützte Gruppe, im Süden einige militarisierte Verteilungszentren ein. Das Projekt wurde von den Vereinten Nationen und internationalen Organisationen als Instrumentalisierung der Hilfe verurteilt. Israel hat auch eine sehr begrenzte Anzahl von UN-Hilfsgüterlastwagen über den Grenzübergang Zikim im Norden nach Gaza einreisen lassen.
Seit Ende April ist die Zahl der Mahlzeiten, die in Gemeinschaftsküchen in Gaza zubereitet werden, um 83 % zurückgegangen. In my opinion, this is NOT a good look for Trump. It comes off as if Trump wants everyone to agree with him on every decision he makes and that is not a good look. I think it's CRUCIAL we have dissenting voices at this time or we get runaway Presidents like we had with Biden. Of course Biden wasn't running anything but he was definitely the front man.
I'm a staunch Trump Supporter, but I could care less if Trump likes my opinions about his decisions or not. I will praise Trump when I think he's doing right and criticize him when I think it's necessary. Btw, I think a lot of MAGA Supporters are grateful for what Massie has been saying. And that doesn't even mean they all agree with him. It simply means they appreciate him speaking his point of view and dissenting.
The support for Massie is certainly not non-existent among MAGA. Probably more people are behind Trump than Massie, but Massie's support is not insignificant. And maybe Trump sees that as a threat, but the MAGA Movement is NOT about Trump—It's about We The People.
As a veteran of the US Navy (got out 35+ years ago), I am begging you to talk your kids out of joining the United States Military if they decide they want to join. Trump will do his best to get them killed. And plus, there are a million other reasons not to join the military. I grew up poor and had no other options. Don't make the same mistake that I made.
