Hello fellow linuxers

I am kinda confused as to why certain Linux distros are mentioned in in every others post while others seems to get litten attention or are being bashed at worst.
People advertise for Mint because it's so easy to use, while I personally miss it's benefits over Ubuntu.

Personally I used KDE Neo for some time and switched to Fedora 42 a few weeks ago. It has all the same tools as basically every other distros. What is missed is not necessary or available. I can also seamlessly manage my proxmox server through ssh and fish and take up minor programming tasks on python or arduino.

Am I missing something important, or just seeing a loud minority with very specific requir?

Since the allocation for war funds against Russia by the US alone are so high, this bloodshed seems to have a long way to go before language is considered.

The US did go broke when it ended the war in Vietnam and this went on fine print and much economic engineering to cover it up. It took a decade for US society to recover from that 2nd economic crack.

You'd think they learn? The sharks make money from crises they cause.

getting dragged into a ground war, and WW3 was never going to happen. Trump had the entire war won before it took place, and the entire operation was secure. The deal was already agreed to. The entire thing was scripted, and executed with flawless military precision. Trump had complete control of the situation the entire time, and warfare has advanced into an entire new realm, far beyond the comprehension of the public. @ErikvanStraten Yeah, a security certificate doesn’t guarantee who owns a particular end point, only that the entity that controls it has access to the private key that was used when the certificate was issued so as to mitigate MITM attacks.

As far as the Small Web is concerned, that’s a fact of life we have to contend with (I’d much prefer a decentralised system like DANE had succeeded) but I definitely don’t want more hurdles and/or information. You want to be anonymous on your personal site? Go right ahead. There’s no reason to prove that a person quite possible exploring an aspect of themselves at rainbows-and-butterflies.org is actually Jane Someone.

We just have different use cases, basically.

: different use cases indeed, but for ordinary end users there is no way to reliably distinguish between them - unless a different browser would be needed.

Unreadable domain names will make even more people skip looking at their browsers address bar.

A (quick&dirty) mockup of what I'd like browsers to show in case of an IPv6 address, can be seen below (of course I'm fully open to discussion regarding layout, contents and the "one year" period).

Note: important is that the user can distinguish between such information provided by the browser, to not be fooled by a webpage that fakes such info (how is probably device-, OS- and browser-dependent).

If ownership information *is* available in the certificate, the browser should show that - and provide an indication of the *reliability* of such information.

The Parliamentary Budget Officer, Yves Giroux, has stated that Prime Minister Mark Carney's spending promises, including tax cuts and defence spending, will necessitate significant cuts to the public service to be balanced.
