Doğu Kürdistanlı bu anne oğlunun tutulduğu hapishanenin önünde, “Ey insanlık oğlumu asacaklar, ne olur yardım edin,” diye yalvar yakar feryat etti, ama dünya duymadı onu, sırça köşklerine kapanan siyasi partiler ve kurumlar o çığlığa kulaklarını kapattılar. Ve vahşi İran molla rejimi feryat figan yardım isteyen annenin oğlu Hamid’ i idam etti.

yea so the thing about iran's underground nuke facilities, is that if they were really "totally obliterated" as in, the blast wave went all the way down to penetrate the actual structure, there would probably be video of the blast wave coming out of the entrances. they shot the bombs down the ventilation shafts so you'd expect it to blow the entrances out.
i figure if such video existed they would have shown it. instead we just see holes punched in the ground near the vent shafts.
still not convinced. but eh whatever it was a good show and everyone backed down. better than a ground assault

aah I have early signs of arthritis myself in my right hand from a boxer’s fracture when I was an amateur fighter. I’m not too familiar with the shinai but as I understand it the recommended hand protection is called a “kote” but I think any lobster mitten style glove would work.
Something like this: woodenswords.com/product_p/sg.…
I don’t recommend using any 5 finger style gloves but if it comes down to affordability its better than nothing. Trust me though, spending $100+ on hand protection is worth the investment to protect your hands if you want to spar with any amount of force.

No, mainly because they do not care. Like a religion, their philosophy is based around moral right not outcomes in reality. Understanding is irrelevant.

Annalena Baerbock Elected UN General Assembly President Amid Outcry Over Support for Israel’s Genocide in Gaza
qudsnen.co/annalena-baerbock-e…
Former UN human rights official Craig Mokhiber sharply criticized Baerbock’s election. He wrote: “The United Nations was born in opposition to German war criminals. Today, it has elected a German war criminal to oversee its accelerating decline. Eighty years later, the Reich takes its revenge with Annalena Baerbock as UNGA President, in the midst of a genocide that she has enthusiastically abetted.”

I haven't had a proper game console since the PS3.
I would like to get one, mostly to play with my family (wife, 7yo kid). I had been waiting for the Switch 2 for a while now (I really resisted the urge to get a Switch OLED back when it was released...).
On the plus side:
On the minus side:
Should I still go with it, or is there a better option? (I hope the better option is not to wait 4 more years for Nintendo to release a newer Switch 2 that would fix the shitty hardware).
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I personally don't recommend anyone get the Switch 2. The new price points are frankly ridiculous, and I'd hate to see that shit get justified by sales.
Personally, I'd recommend looking into handheld PCs. I haven't looked into them much myself due to lack of money, but they're generally much more worth the cost from what I've heard.
All that said, I missed that you were looking for something to play with your 7 year old child. Switch might be better, but any handheld would be... notably destructible, so that's a factor to keep in mind.
Yeah, Mastodon's Unlisted is such a misnomer. My biggest gripe with it is that it mainly means "unsearchable".
And you can't really change that on a server, since that would mean that people who did mean "unsearchable" when they chose "unlisted", suddenly find their posts showing up in searches without their consent...

#Kneecap news: according to the band themselves, they've been told that their set will not be streamed live but will be available on demand (presumably with some politically inappropriate words cut out) this evening.
I don't know what time this evening, and finding recorded sets on the iplayer during the festival is a challenge at the best of times.
But everyone, do please watch it when you can. I know that most of the people posting about Kneecap here will have no interest in enjoying the actual music, it's just a political point to make.
However, the only reason their political stances have made any headlines at all is because they're popular. And the only reason they're popular is that they are very good at what they do. It would be a great shame if everyone just focused on using them as a political football without paying attention to the tremendously entertaining music that Kneecap make.
Anyway, in about a quarter of an hour, BBC will be streaming Bob Vylan from the West Holts stage without controversy, and they're very good too, so watch that.

We are constantly fed a version of AI that looks, sounds and acts suspiciously like us. It speaks in polished sentences, mimics emotions, expresses curiosity, claims to feel compassion, even dabbles in what it calls creativity. But what we call AI today is nothing more than a statistical machine: a digital parrot regurgitating patterns mined from oceans of human data (the situation hasn’t changed much since it was discussed here five years ago). When it writes an answer to a question, it literally just guesses which letter and word will come next in a sequence – based on the data it’s been trained on.
This means AI has no understanding. No consciousness. No knowledge in any real, human sense. Just pure probability-driven, engineered brilliance — nothing more, and nothing less.
So why is a real “thinking” AI likely impossible? Because it’s bodiless. It has no senses, no flesh, no nerves, no pain, no pleasure. It doesn’t hunger, desire or fear. And because there is no cognition — not a shred — there’s a fundamental gap between the data it consumes (data born out of human feelings and experience) and what it can do with them.
Philosopher David Chalmers calls the mysterious mechanism underlying the relationship between our physical body and consciousness the “hard problem of consciousness”. Eminent scientists have recently hypothesised that consciousness actually emerges from the integration of internal, mental states with sensory representations (such as changes in heart rate, sweating and much more).
Given the paramount importance of the human senses and emotion for consciousness to “happen”, there is a profound and probably irreconcilable disconnect between general AI, the machine, and consciousness, a human phenomenon.
AI may appear human, but it is an illusion we must tackle. The Conversation

NATO's decision to increase military spending to 5% of nations' GDP by 2035 is an obscene betrayal of global needs. This goal is a result of US pressure and will impoverish societies while enriching weapons contractors.

@Beeks the obvious alternative is to use diplomacy to normalize relations with Russia.
The idea that Russia is going to invade Europe militarily is an absurdity. However, the austerity that such drastic increase in military spending will necessitate will absolutely create political discontent that Russia will be able to exploit.
