The main disadvantage, especially for Linux purists, is that due to the fact it is an "immutable distro", you can't willy nilly install any program you want through the package manager, change the desktop environment, etc. You are limited to install programs through Flatpak, which is a kind of containerized app that goes "over" the system. In practical terms for the layman user, it works like installing a Windows app. But it's different enough from regular Linux that power users dislike it. Also, as mentioned, you are limited on installing certain stuff that goes down to "system level", like changing desktop environments and such.
But, honestly? I am a "Linux power user", and I have been using Bazzite for over a year now, with no problems. I can both play my games and do my job in it just fine, and stuff just works without having to tinker with it. I have done some "distro hopping" in this meantime to test some stuff, but ended up going back to it, because, again, it just works.
There are, of course, some things I may want to do as a power user that I can't easily do here, like using Hyprland as my desktop, or installing widgets like eww. And that's why I'm trying to create a NixOS install in a VM before transfering it to my PC, in the hopes that after having NixOS fully set up I'll never have to worry again. But it's being so annoying to fix the myriad of issues that arise that I'm seriously considering just giving up and staying happy in Bazzite.

Das hat sehr viel weitreichendere Folgen als unsere Gesellschaft sich das in der Regel klar macht.
...Was wir in unserer Gesellschaft einfach immer noch viel zu viel haben ist:
Die Erzählung und Vorstellung vom generell durchaus gewalttätigen Mann, der seine Gewalt aber "in die richtige Richtung kanalisieren kann." (in der Regel: Gegen böse andere Männer).
In der Realität sieht das dann regelmäßig ganz anders aus. Da erweist sich die Erzählung von der individuellen Kanalisierbarkeit von erlernter Gewalttätigkeit als ein Mythos.
Unsere Gesellschaft sollte sich mal entscheiden, wie gewalttätig sie ihre Männer denn gerne hätte.
Es ist nämlich absehbar, dass wir das Gewaltlevel jetzt nochmal wieder anheben werden. Mit den erwartbaren und "bekannten" Folgen.
Aber Du kannst eben nicht beides haben: Männer, die ein gutes Gefühl für Menschen haben (sich selber, Kinder, andere Erwachsene), und Männer, die eine "gute Grundgewaltfähigkeit mitbringen".
...Und dann bin ich halt wieder bei meiner alten These, dass wir in Sachen weiblicher und männlicher Emanzipation erst dann substantielle Fortschritte machen werden, wenn wir es geschafft haben, einen stabilen, dauerhaften Weltfrrieden zu etablieren.
Denn die Gewalttätigkeit "wächst von außen nach innen in die Gesellschaft hinein":
Solange Gesellschaften Bedarf an "Gewaltarbeitern" haben, werden sie immer auch intern (!) ein hohes Gewaltniveau haben. 🤷🏽
