I have been thinking about this for a while now, but I think it's time to actually pull the trigger. We need a database to document commercials/adverts etc.

Requirements:
- Easily record metadata in a standard format
- API available to query
- User contribution capabilities (well moderated)

Ideally I want to use something off the shelf. MediaWiki seems to check the boxes, but looking for something less complex to general users.

Every single country in the world had the opportunity to do what we did, but all we got were complaints, hate and jealousy. They broadly arent really very techy and absolutely hate the idea of anything new. So nah they broadly hate federation and adopting any new platforms.

Especially given that the fediverse already has a culture of being actively anti racism and hate they wouldnt be able to move here without getting instantly defederated and they know this. I'm sure the leftypol commies are already here.

I think also the fediverse tends to lend itself to brainrot formats of social media: mastodon (Twitter), lemmy (Reddit), pixelfed (Instagram/tiktok), matrix (Discord). The fediverse is just trying to mimic the worst examples of the internet while 4chan is perfectly fine being its 2004 self
