OBS does not allow me to create a new pipewire screen (only one works)

How come when I try to create a new obs screen, it is black, whether or not i toggle off the visibility on Screen Capture
and how do i get it to show the capture settings, like which monitor, or what portion of the screen, to be clear, the! first capture works, for some reason no other capture i try to create is letting me configure or display anything

There is a chance this might be related to another issue I had, but I dont know a fix (I have to manually add what portals I want to install due to a bug, but I have the plasma portals so that should be enough?)

I have the hyprland portals installed, and the kde ones, due to some issue I had to explicitly install them so idk if that will mess with the way applications handle it, assuming not, and yes I have two gpus, one dgpu, and one igpu, the dgpu is directly connected to my hdmi, does OBS stuggle with 2 gpus? still, that sounds like it would be a issue with capturing the monitor managed by my igpu. Not a reason to stop a second pipewire capture.

What logs do you need? I provided some from running OBS but i assume it isnt enough, what logs should I collect, or is there a flag i need to run with OBS

Missed your logs link, but there's some hints in there.

You have both an Intel GPU and Nvidia GPU in that laptop, and it's selecting your Intel while trying to use Nvidia compatible settings. So you need to try and force everything to either work on Nvidia, or everything to work on Intel. It can't do both without splitting the settings per GPU, which I don't think is an option in OBS.

I tried nvidia-offload, as I set up PRIME awhile ago, it didnt help, here is the logs, if its useful:

Idk if OBS would actually respect the GPU being handed to it, or if it'll do something weird with screen capture, its weird per-gpu settings is not a option with OBS, if this is a OBS bug, i can file a bug report. Hopefully it can be resolved here.

Well in that log, it actually DOES use the right GPU. There are some other errors you have going on in there though, like you seem to have AV1 encoding selected somewhere in your settings, but this RTX 3070 doesn't support AV1 encoding (on the fly) AFAIK.

Try launching the app this same, setting all your hardware encoding stuff back to defaults, then see if you can get it working. In these logs it IS picking up the second pipewire display, so that's good, but launch this way again without AV1 enabled then upload the logs again and let's see what's happening.

#LPT - When installing/ reinstalling a #Linux distro with #LUKS #FDE and you need to overwrite your boot drive, make sure you copy/ preserve your /etc directory BEFORE your wipe your hard drive!

Specifically /etc/luks-keys/ and /etc/fstab or you will have a bad day.

Vor gut eineinhalb Jahren hat die FR zwei liebe Kolleg:innen und mich in einer miesen Aktion kurz vor Weihnachten gefeuert. Das bekam viel Aufmerksamkeit. Es ist wichtig, zu verstehen, dass das in diesem Haus kein Einzelfall war, und dass nicht nur junge Leute in der Probezeit verheizt werden, sondern auch altgediente Mitarbeiter, die sich jahrzehntelang für die Zeitung den Arsch aufgerissen haben und wenige Jahre vor der Rente nicht einmal eine Verabschiedung bekommen.

Two meteorological missions – Meteosat Third Generation Sounder-1 (MTG-S1) and the Copernicus Sentinel-4 mission – have launched on board a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral in Florida, US.

Both are world-class Earth observation missions developed with European partners to address scientific and societal challenges.

The MTG-S1 satellite will generate a completely new type of data product, especially suited to nowcasting severe weather events, with three-dimensional views of the atmosphere. It is the second in the MTG constellation to be prepared for orbit and is equipped with the first European operational Infrared Sounder instrument.

Copernicus Sentinel-4 will be the first mission to monitor European air quality from geostationary orbit, providing hourly information that will transform how we predict air pollution across Europe, using its ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared light (UVN) spectrometer.

Gestern Demo gegen die AfD-Begehung des Görlitzer Parks: Zwar konnten die zwei AFD-Leute unter großem Polizeischutz den Görli betreten. Beim Abfahren wurden sie blockiert. Das Taxi wollte sie nicht mitnehmen, dann wurde der Bahnhof Schlesi für ihren Abtransport gesperrt. Am U-Bhf. Warschauer Str. mussten sie schließlich in einem Polizeiwagen weggebracht werden. Wie peinlich!

A collection of very disturbing things have been happening in US policy recently. It adds up to a new era of threats that we need to take very seriously.

Dangerous language that dehumanizes people, the creation of the first ever list of all US citizens, a recently announced plan to start stripping people of their citizenship.

All of this is happening alongside massive funding for ICE and threats from the president to deport citizens and imprison them abroad.

MdEP Peter #liese fabuliert gerade im Deutschlandfunk wieder von klimaneutralem Sprit. Ähnlicher Unsinn sind Gasheizungen mit dem Label Wasserstoff-ready oder Fusionskraftwerke. Alles bewusste Täuschungen, weil es das nicht geben wird. Es geht immer nur um das Verhindern von konsequentem #Klimaschutz.
Wir Journalisten sollten dies klar kennzeichnen.

Wenn Politiker Scheinlösungen als Argument gegen Klimaschutz präsentieren, spekulieren sie darauf, keinen Widerspruch zu ernten. Denn man kann nicht ex-ante beweisen, dass es keinen klimaneutralen Sprit etc geben wird.
Aber noch weniger können sie beweisen, dass es diese Technologien jemals in den Markt kommen und nicht einmal, welche Wirkung sie haben werden.
Wir dürfen den wissenschaftlichen Diskurs nicht mehr verdrehen lassen.

Ich würde klimaneutralen Sprit jetzt nicht kategorisch ausschließen. Sehe momentan nicht wie Flugverkehr sonst funktionieren könnte. Mit Akku auf Fernstrecken sicher nicht.

Aber man sollte halt deutlich dazu sagen, daß wir über die Machbarkeit von eFuels nur ernsthaft diskutieren kann, wenn wir bei der Energiewende noch ein paar Schippen obendrauf legen. Und das heißt, wir haben so viel regenerativen Strom über, das uns nix besseres mehr einfällt als das in ineffiziente Elektrolyse/Methanisierung zu stecken.

The British government is being rocked by a growing public backlash to Israel’s 21-month slaughter in Gaza and the UK’s active collusion in it.

That fallout came to a head over the weekend, when Bob Vylan led Glastonbury’s crowds in chanting: “Death, death to the IDF.”

The UK government is still supplying parts for the F-35 fighter jets dropping bombs on Gaza’s people. It has massively increased UK arms exports to Israel.
