We had window AC probably from the late 70s but that only went in one room and it had to be really hot to use. Would sleep in sleeping bags on the floor or parents room on those nights. Else it was sunburns and humidity for July and August.

Despite being punk before the likes of the Ramones or Sex Pistols, no record label would sign them unless they changed their name. Decades later, the sons of Bobby Hackney heard that single and started asking questions… which eventually led to the release of that album on Drag City Records in 2009. Ich bin ein extremer Befürworter der #GenferKonvention, sie muss aber auch endlich und konsequent umgesetzt werden.
Überall bzw. weltweit sehe ich gerade circa 120 kriegerische bzw. völkerrechtswidrige Kriege, alle verstoßen gegen die Genfer Konventionen.
Kriege sind nur durch Gespräche zu lösen, also nicht durch immer mehr und neuere Waffen.
Dass das nur durch gute Politiker gelöst werden kann, ist eh klar.
Sollten diese jetzigen "Politiker" uns als Bevölkerung nicht durch Verhandlungen schützen können oder wollen, so sollte man sich wirklich die Frage stellen, ob man diese Versager noch in ihren Ämtern belässt.
Einen freiwilligen Rücktritt kann man wohl heutzutage leider kaum mehr erwarten, wenn "man" gleichzeitig in einer der Aufsichtsräte der Waffenindustrie sitzt und mitkassiert.
Die Demokratie braucht ein Fundament, was die kapitalistische Gesellschaft gar nicht bauen kann, weil der Krieg zum Kapitalismus gehört wie das Amen zur Kirche.
Was machste mit einem machtgeilen Verrückten, der einfach seinen Nachbarn überfällt und Zivilisten bombardiert? Und jedem mit der Atombombe droht, der ihn hindern will?
Mit so jemanden ist nicht zu reden, jedenfalls nicht über die Genfer Konventionen. Der versteht und respektiert nur eine Sprache: Stärke und Konsequenz.
Klar kann man den Konflikt durch Verhandlungen "befrieden" - indem das Opfer aufgibt. Aber Appeasement funktioniert nun mal bekanntlich nicht. Nachdem es außerdem mehr als einen verrückten Potentaten gibt, die Erde aber eine Kugel und ihre Oberfläche daher endlich ist, stößt diese Strategie unausweichlich an Grenzen. In einer Welt, wie sie am Ende dieser "Befriedungen" wäre, will niemand leben. Wer das aber verhindern will, für den ist Kampf alternativlos.
Durch die Art und Weise, wie man ihn führt, definiert man hingegen nachhaltig, wer und was man ist. Den Kampf mit den Unmenschen aufzunehmen und dabei die eigene Menschlichkeit zu bewahren - das ist die Kunst.
