Why are parts of application in a different language?
As you can see in the screenshot there are a couple of parts of the F-Droid application page in F-Droid that are in a different language. This isn't actually the first time I have seen this and is not limited to the F-Droid application. Currently it's just this one, but in the past I have had more apps than not displaying some or all of their content in a different language despite my phone being configured for English.

I believe there is a difference between polling and voting.

During a poll (talking to a human being), people pretend to a better version of themselves. You know, the version who isn’t a racist?

When they secretly vote, they let their true feelings out.

So 45’s policies are more popular than a lot of people admit. Of the 77 million who voted for this, how many did NOT see the “Mass Deportation” signs?

I guess we will find out in 2026 how many of the people being polled now are lying.

- it is well known in the psychological and cognitive sciences that memory is not like a man-made recording device. Your memory is not a tape recorder, or analogous to computer memory. Nevertheless people will insist on constantly using computer metaphors for memory. Just know this is widely regarded as inaccurate

"the Mandela effect" should be an opportunity to explore how fallible human memory is, and how it can interact with group dynamics, leading to things like widespread memories of events that never happened. Instead it's a basis for people who are certain their memories are 100% digitally accurate to unmoor themselves from reality and start rambling about parallel universes while fashioning tinfoil hats for themselves.
