Many in the US got a propaganda message from the Social Security Administration last night. Just so you know where my skill level is for #soldering repairs…
I probably spent longer than any ration people trying to de-solder the relay and wondering why nothing was reaching temperature UNTIL i decide to snip off the relay that was absorbing all the heat.

My dinky soldering gun was a probably a contributing factor.

I need a soldering bootcamp with hands on experience with real tools.

The Trump gang just took down a bunch of legally mandated climate assessments. Meanwhile, here in actual reality, the climate doesn't give a fuck:

“We are witnessing a true reversal of ocean circulation in the Southern Hemisphere—something we’ve never seen before. That's a quote from Antonio Turiel, one author of a new paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. This study found that since 2016, the water in parts of the Antarctic Ocean is getting more salty. This suggests that the deep ocean circulation in the southern hemisphere—known as the SMOC—has reversed. Instead of sinking into the depths, surface water is now being replaced by deep water coming up to the surface.

This reversal seems to be driving the accelerated melting of sea ice in the Antarctic Ocean:

The Jewish Telegraphic Agency news service is not a bad source if you want reporting from that perspective that won't affect your blood pressure (the events reported on might, but not the reporting). It's extremely plain matter-of-fact, A says X, B responded Y, with little editorialising or opinion material, or discernible politics of its own. Allegations quoted at length and attributed, responses quoted at length, in either direction. No looking out the window to see whether it is raining, but at least neutral reporting on the “is it raining or not" debate from the outside, without name-calling, sensationalising, or actively stoking controversy.

Between Haaretz or The Forward their mix of stating plain truths sometimes and harebrained nonsense other times, and Jewish Currents being all opinions and essays, this might offer something slightly different.
