Utter nonsense. Makes Cooper, the Labour party, and most of Parliament look out of touch, pathetic and stupid. supporting the murder of thousands of innocent humans while proscribing as terrorists those who protest against the killing.

"Over R1 Trillion Looted Through BEE — South Africa’s Greatest Political Scam? !! "

"A bombshell revelation has shaken South Africa’s fragile economic credibility to the core. Professor William Gumede, one of the country’s most respected governance scholars, has exposed what many feared: over R1 trillion has been transferred under the banner of Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), and almost all of it has landed in the pockets of fewer than 100 politically connected individuals.Yes — R1,000,000,000,000. Not to uplift a nation, but to enrich a recycled elite.

“BEE only benefits a very small group — politically connected, linked to the ANC, linked to the trade unions… and the same people are re-empowered again and again,” said Gumede in an explosive public interview. This is not transformation. This is state-sanctioned looting under the guise of empowerment."

"If “empowerment” means billion-rand transfers to under 100 people — most of whom are repeat beneficiaries — then South Africa is no longer a democracy. It is a captured state under economic apartheid, run by political bandits. This is not empowerment. It is daylight robbery, orchestrated from within government halls, funded by the suffering of the masses, and protected by a network of spin, censorship, and silence. !!"

#Florida state rep Angie Nixon was among the lawmakers again demanding an oversight visit in Alligator Auschwitz.

Under normal circumstances, of course, this would simply be her job. In the current conditions, with lawmakers of color being assaulted and illegally arrested by goons, this is a very brave act of defiance.

It depends on the transit service, and how much their IT people suck. I'm pretty sure there have been multiple attempts to make standardized APIs for this sort of thing, but you shouldn't necessarily expect them to be widely used except maybe in Europe.

Do a web search for "[transit service name] API" and start from there.

Edit: My local transit service apparently publishes a GTFS feed, which may be more widespread than I assumed, but I'm honestly kinda surprised they didn't try to roll their own or something stupid like that.

Thinking about SMS security @ryan @Pheonix @phoneboy - it's my understanding that SMS is unencrypted w/in the network where it's sent (so phone-company secure), and that the biggest risk is rogue connection points that may trick the phone into connecting to it. People may underestimate how likely they are to encounter one of those ("who would want MY data?" LOL), but has that threat model changed?

I agree on the levels of security by content, but it also needs to be the highest level of security that content would need; otherwise, the presence of a certain level of security implies the value of the content being secured. I agree that should be baked in at the design level, not layers bolted on afterwards; but, do you not see some of those as pragmatic steps to save the uninformed masses from themselves"?

It used to be true that Verizon had public messaging gateways where you could read texts with a simple http get. All you needed was a phone number.

So the level of phone company security relies on how retarded the tech ppl and the management of the phone company are. Probably mostly management.

Which is an infinite security hole.
