Περνάνε γνωστοί και φίλοι, μέλη της τότε ομάδας, αρχίζουμε τις μπύρες και κατά τις 6-7 (δεν θυμάμαι ακριβώς) ξαναχτυπάει το τηλ απο Μαξίμου. "Είχες δίκιο μολις μίλησα και με Νικολακόπουλο...κερδίζει το ΟΧΙ και με διαφορά" γελάω και αστειεύομαι αλλά απ την αλλη πλευρά της γραμμής υπάρχει παγωμάρα...τι συμβαίνει ρωτάω...σιγή..."να εδω το κλίμα δεν είναι πολύ καλό...όλοι πίστευαν οτι θα χάσουμε και...να δεν ξέρω τι θά γίνει τώρα...όλοι είναι ανήσυχοι" ε δεν χάρηκαν λοιπόν, απαντάω εγώ αφελέστατα...σιγή..."μπα δε νομίζω και τόσο...γάμησέ τα θα τα πούμε άλλη ώρα"... Καλά, πιστεύω πως όλοι έβλεπαν ότι η κυβέρνηση ήθελε το ναι. Απλά δε μπορούσε να βγει και να το πει ανοιχτά. Επίσης πιστεύω ότι πολλοί από όσους "αγωνίστηκαν" στο δρόμο για το όχι ήξεραν ότι ο Τσίπρας θα κάνει κωλοτούμπα - φαινόταν κι από το δίπολο που έριξαν στις κάλπες, το οποίο ήταν κάλπικο. Επίσης η εκκένωση της Πρυτανείας άνοιξε τα μάτια κάποιους μήνες πριν και είδαν ζαίοι της βάσης που το πήγαινε η κυβέρνηση που στήριζαν. Είναι σημαντικό να σημειωθεί ότι και στις δύο περιπτώσεις ήταν οι αναρχικοί (με τα όποια προβλήματα μας) που κατέδειξαν σε αυτούς που ήταν ακόμα δύσπιστοι ότι η κυβέρνηση αυτή ήταν το ακριβώς αντίθετο από αυτά που προωθούσε πριν βγει. I used to work at a place outside the city that only had one bus after work and it was kinda spotty and unreliable. However, there was an online API provided by the bus company that told me where the bus is.
So I wrote a Python script and a Linux alert that would give me a notification when the bus was within range, with enough time to get to the stop on time.
I found a webpage that uses it and found out that it requires no authentication. So I just copied the url and sent a request every 5 seconds just like the webpage did. It gave a csv of busses, their routes and gps locations.
It depends on the transit service, and how much their IT people suck. I'm pretty sure there have been multiple attempts to make standardized APIs for this sort of thing, but you shouldn't necessarily expect them to be widely used except maybe in Europe.
Do a web search for "[transit service name] API" and start from there.
Edit: My local transit service apparently publishes a GTFS feed, which may be more widespread than I assumed, but I'm honestly kinda surprised they didn't try to roll their own or something stupid like that.
Thinking about SMS security @ryan @Pheonix @phoneboy - it's my understanding that SMS is unencrypted w/in the network where it's sent (so phone-company secure), and that the biggest risk is rogue connection points that may trick the phone into connecting to it. People may underestimate how likely they are to encounter one of those ("who would want MY data?" LOL), but has that threat model changed?
